Daily weight changes don't mean a thing, like others have said it depends on all sorts of factors like hydration, sodium intake, muscle recovery, time of the month, when you've been to the toilet etc etc etc.... as long as the overall picture week to week is going down, you're fine!

I think you should reconsider doing everything at once, you won't have enough energy to do any of it properly! I think if I remember it right, the 30DS includes some pressups? That would make a start on upper body, and then after the 30 days you could start adding some free weights to your routine. I just think from…

Eek this is a bit depressing! I cycle everywhere as it is, running is just for fun - I love the feeling of it (when it doesn't hurt...) but I'm not ready to give up yet! I'm hoping that the doctor could refer me to a physio maybe. I refuse to just accept that I can't run!

Thank you for these! Will definitely try these starting today - I'm less certain about running on uneven surfaces as I think that might be how I hurt my ankle in the first place! But maybe once it is feeling better!

Yes I went to sweatshop and had my gait analysed, I was in there about 2 hours finding the perfect pair of shoes with adequate support so I don't think they can be the problem! Also I have had the shoes for a few months now and this latest injury is much more recent.
-
I have had my gait assessed in a local running shop, which is where I found out about the overpronating, and where I got supportive shoes from. So I know that that is a bit of a problem, but I also think I was perhaps overdoing it when I was new to running. Now though, it's just frustrating to have the pain stopping me -…

That is part of what I am planning too; I'm giving up drinking and going to focus on healthy eating for the next few weeks. I think that I need to do a lot more conditioning exercises though, I overpronate a lot when I run, and I'm trying to concentrate on better form etc, but it doesn't seem to be enough to stop the pain!…

I am pretty new to running to but my #1 tip is take it slow and #2 tip make sure you have proper shoes! I started running earlier this year, hurt my feet because of running in old trainers with no support. Then I got good trainers from a running shop, got excited about how great they felt, ran too far too fast and hurt…

Every time I go to the gym after work there is a guy on the treadmill who has it set at 13kph even though he clearly can't run that fast. He runs about 30 secs -1 min and then leaps his feet to the side puffing and panting for several minutes, before doing it again. I really want to tell him the treadmill has an interval…

I do have smaller measurements, so I know it's not that my progress has stalled completely, I just still would like to lose a bit more weight (and also inches). I'm trying to do weight training as well as cardio to build up muscles - mostly focusing on my legs - but I am training for some running events at the moment, so I…

I find myself eating things that I think are *ok* rather than delicious, just because if I eat treat foods that are full of sugar or fat, I won't stop eating them even once I'm full. Eating things like salad, fruits, porridge - they're all OK, but I'll stop when I'm not hungry anymore. But I would never eat something I…

I am on here pretty much every day, feel free to add me :) I love running, cycling, yoga but also cooking...

I used to be an emotional eater but now I use exercise instead. Honestly, I started running a few months back and now whenever I've had a hard day instead of reaching for a chocolate bar/glass of wine/takeaway, I get home, put on my running shoes and run as fast as I can, even just around the block for 15 minutes. Exercise…

I think it's unlikely that you have plateaued from not eating enough, most of the time MFP really overestimates the amount you burn from exercise. I would try interval training on the treadmill - you can do this on incline walks if you are not comfortable running. Do a shorter workout but push yourself harder. I agree with…

I can't see your diary, but have you tried changing the number of calories, or changing the percentage of protein, carbs etc? Apart from that, sometimes it takes time. I immediately lost about 4lb when I started watching my calories, then had no change for weeks, and then suddenly it was like the fat just started melting…

I just started day 1 level 1 yesterday, hoping that I see the same amazing results that others have!

You had a baby three weeks ago! Give your body some time to recover, and don't fret about weight! I weigh myself about every other day, first thing in the morning, but I don't write down the weight until it's been the same for several days/a week. It can fluctuate so much - after exercising/at certain times of the month /…

Weight loss is a slow process! If you've lost a few inches since Janaury that is pretty good going, you just have to keep it up! What exercise are you doing? Are you eating enough to fuel it? How much do you have to lose?
-
Can you make your diary open? It'll be easier for people to help you if we can see what you are doing!
-
I do squats with weights, you'd have to do loads unweighted to make a major difference I'd have thought? I do 3 or 4 sets of 8 with 50kg (although I started with about 10kg) and have noticed a BIG difference in lower body!

You can get most of the way through diet alone. It's possible that losing some weight will help with your health problems as well, but if you stick to a good diet and as much exercise as you can manage, even if it's just walking, you will get there. It's about perseverance and slowly getting to the place you want to be.

All those people who go commando - don't you have to wash your clothes all the time?! I wear the same running tights for a few days (WITH underwear) but wouldn't you have to wash the tights/leggings/shorts after ever gym visit otherwise?!

Surely it's not useful to know everyone's calorie goal based on no other information about them? It's going to be completely different for people of different ages, gender, height, activity level... Apart from the fact that teeny tiny calories isn't going to work long term for anyone... people just need to find what works…

This. I used to be one of those ladies - at the gym every lunchtime, thinking that made up for whatever I wanted to eat or drink at any time, when in actual fact the amount of calories you are burning in a lunchtime dance class is nowhere NEAR the amount to counteract a baguette for lunch, a few glasses of wine in the…

The bike ride is to/from work every day, so I do that on a daily basis whatever the weather, and I wouldn't really count it as my exercise routine, it's just how I get around (at weekends, too, because it saves me so much money on transport!) I've never bothered logging the bike ride as it's not particularly intense…

I eat the same breakfast Monday - Friday (porridge) and the same sandwich (houmous on granary) for lunch. Sometimes I vary the type of houmous - jalapeno or sweet chilli - but basically it's the same. I find it easiest to stay within my calorie goal that way, as I know exactly where I am for my evening meal. It's also kind…

Thanks for all the replies - I've never really tried protein shakes, I'm put off by the huge quantities you have to buy in one go, as I am fussy about artificially flavoured things and don't like most sweet things. Can anyone recommend a good one that you don't have to buy huge quantities of? It sounds like it might be a…

There are loads of different types of yoga, depending on what you want to do - to become more flexible, strengthen back, shoulders, legs, etc.. or just for the spiritual benefits. Pilates is generally focussed on the core and building strength there. It depends what you want to achieve through it. I would recommend yoga as…

You are still a long way in the right direction from where you started, so slowly and surely you will get there! If I was you I would take some time to actually think about your eating habits and why you want to eat the bad things. Is it really because your body needs more sugar? or are there habits you have got into,…

I don't think they're very accurate, I always use the ones at the gym, and the wii doesn't corespond exactly with them - although to be fair I am never naked on either set!
