I think the best thing is to eat as many natural unprocessed foods as possible. They keep you much fuller than any processed foods or 'light' options of bad stuff. Since I made a conscious effort to make all my meals myself instead of buying lunch or dinner readymade, I've noticed I don't feel hungry all the time or feel…

If I know I'm eating out I make an effort to choose lower-calorie options for the rest of my day (eg berries on my cereal instead of banana, no potatoes with dinner) but still eat normal meals. The best thing is to try and fit in some extra exercise, or just accept that this is a 'treat' day and make up for it by being…

Do you have time even once a week (eg a weekend) to make a big batch of something? You can easily make homemade soup/veggie chilli/cous cous with roasted veg in less than an hour, and have enough for several portions during the week. Or make a baked potato or sweet potato in the microwave (under 10 mins) and have with…

I think you are probably using quite small avocadoes if you only get a tablespoon from half of one. But they are quite high calorie, delicious though! I love them in a salad with pine nuts and balsamic vinegar - YUM.

Usually when I'm hungry like that it's because I'm either overtired or bored. If I've had a bad night's sleep I feel like I need to eat all day just to keep going, and also I have noticed I eat loads more when I'm sat at my desk all day than I do at weekends when I'm out and about! If it's just a one off, then I wouldn't…

Gorgeous photos, I am so envious!

I'm 5ft 7, and my goal is around 140 although it depends more on how I look than the weight on the scale - trying to get rid of my spare tyre so if that's not gone at 140 I guess I will have to aim lower!

water water water - every time you're hungry, have a glass of water before eating anything. I've also tried as far as possible to cut out processed foods and diet drinks, and I've found myself feeling much healthier and much less hungry, so I think eating as natural as possible is great for filling you up and getting the…

Why would you do that?!

I've tried to cut down on artificially sweetened things as I think they're not good for you, and I found it wasn't helping with my weight loss. Instead I put a slice of lemon or lime in a glass of water (you can also do this with hot water in the morning which is meant to be good for you, and I think it's lovely!) - it…

I think if you do intense exercise you need to eat more calories - eg. strength training, high intensity cardio workouts etc. I always find that after that kind of workout I am MUCH hungrier than usual and need an evening snack as well as dinner. However, if I'm just cycling or swimming or something, I don't need to eat…

You seem to have only logged one day? Based on that, I would say you don't eat very much, you need to have a proper breakfast eg porridge/granola/toast. That would add around 200 cals. Then if you snacked on some nuts that could add another 200 - then you'd be pretty much at your goal.

Vodka or gin with a diet mixer is probably the lowest in calories. I like to drink wine, I think it's about 120 calories per glass and I find I drink it much more slowly than a mixed drink, so it lasts longer!

I could not stand doing cardio at the same rate for 20mins, so I do interval training with 60sec/30sec intervals, it's quite intense and you don't have time to get bored in between the fast bits because you are using all your concentration to get your breath back! Also, I have to have music on - make a playlist of tunes…

I think it's good to feel hungry before a mealtime - like for a maximum half an hour before you eat. Any longer than that and you should just eat something! I usually have fruit during the day, or in the evening if I am still hungry a couple of hours after dinner I have a glass of skimmed milk.

I think if you are regular and not feeling uncomfortable then you shouldn't worry too much. Make sure you are eating the right kinds of fibre, and eat some dried fruits and things if you want to go more regularly, but it doesn't mean anything is wrong if your usual 'routine' is only every couple of days, different bodies…

You could try cutting out cookies, chocolate etc - it seems like there is quite a lot of sugar in your diet?
-
I tried to do this for a while instead of counting calories and put back on the 8lbs that I had lost- just through making bad choices and choosing to ignore the calorie count of certain things so that I didn't feel guilty! I could pretty much eat non-stop forever and I don't really have the willpower to stop eating…

Thanks for all the feedback! I am 5ft 7 so I am currently at a healthy BMI (23.8), I just want to lose some of my excess fat so that I can look and feel better. I guess perhaps I am just being impatient as I feel so much better already, but can't see much visible progress. I do drink a LOT of water (around 5-6 pints per…

I would order whatever you most like, it's a treat after all! But make sure you eat slowly and stop eating when you're full - I usually find the problem when eating out is you feel compelled to finish everything on the plate!
-
I have found that when I have cravings, or want to eat substantially more than usual, it's usually because I'm tired and haven't had enough sleep. I think it's your body trying to tell you it's running low on fuel! If you have the opportunity for a nap, I would do that, nd drink plenty of water - I prefer warm water with a…

I can't figure this out either, last year I had been eating healthily and exercising for months without results then went on holiday and ate hot dogs, pizza, chinese food, pancakes etc etc - and came back 8lbs lighter! I can't figure out if most days I am eating too little or too much.
-
Weekends are always where I fall down too. What I have started doing lately is trying to increase my exercise at weekends around my plans eg. walk/cycle places instead of getting on the bus. Also, keep a small bag of nuts in your bag in case you get hungry so you don't have to eat an unhealthy snack. When you're out to eat…

You can't choose where you lose weight from, it depends on where your body is prone to storing fat which is why people are different shapes! Once you've lost a bit all over, you will still be in proportion.

You could have vodka and diet mixer or gin & slimline tonic. Personally I would have a couple of glasses of wine, enjoy them, and not do it too often! If you're going to have a drink you may as well make it something that you really like, rather than something that you don't enjoy as much but still has negative health…

It doesn't bother me at all that my boyfriend buys biscuits and chocolates, and fast food sometimes. If I couldn't be near junk food without eating it I would have much bigger problems than worrying about his supportiveness! I don't think I should be inflicting my weight-loss attempts on other people. However, it would…

I love Whole Earth Organic peanut butter, it took a little getting used to at first because usually peanut butter has so much sugar and salt in, but now I prefer it to the less healthy ones!
-
I think they are great, but beware each punnet in the box is around 200 cals (a few are less - but they are rarer!) - so although they are healthier alternatives than chocolate, cake etc, don't eat too many! I get one box a week and I eat one thing from it per day usually, it's good if you're on the go and want to keep a…

A trainer might be good as you have a short timescale and a definite goal, they should be able to help you put together a routine. Personally I would go for limiting calories, and three times a week at the gym doing weights followed by High Intensity Interval Training.

Make sure you're doing enough stretching before and after your workout, and avoid hot baths immediately afterwards as it doesn't help your muscles! If you're exercising today I would try focussing on a different muscle group or sticking to cardio.
