An eight inch danish pastry can have OVER 1300 calories...although according to FatSecret.com a seven inch large danish pastry has over 570. If you get the itch to eat one, get a small to medium (but remember it could count as almost a meal for a medium!). I personally prefer to buy frozen waffles and eat them with Sugar…

I love fruit. I'll cut up strawberries and mix in blueberries for a late night treat! If I just HAVE to have something sweet and quick I keep the 90 calorie Rice Krispies Treats in the cupboard. One curbs my sweet tooth!

So our bodies sometimes reflect a loss of inches even when we don't lose 'weight'. While the fat is being reduced, we gain muscle in its place. Our bodies are more compacted...less loose fat...so even if the weight stays the same we can see the difference in losing inches!

Love my reward days! I reward myself for every ten pounds I lose.....a new outfit or a bottle of perfume or even a piece of jewelry! I'm at 32 lbs lost now and my BIG reward comes at 50 lbs.....a spa/massage/haircut day to myself! I never reward myself with a food binge (even for pizza...my weakness) or a big meal. That…

I agree, I don't deny myself something if I am really craving it. I am not on a diet, I am making a lifestyle change. I allow myself to eat small portions of pizza, ribs, etc...but I scale back as well. I prefer Lean Pockets pepperoni pizza or a singe slice of pizza and savor it slower, I eat ribs but make sure to leave my…

My knees had started to hurt when I'd go up a flight of stairs or walk too far. NOW I can walk much greater distances, climb more flights of stairs at one time AND the pain in my knees is gone! I've also noticed that I don't do that "roll and grab" when I get up off the floor after exercising. You know, roll over, grab the…

I try to have three "meals" and three "snacks" each day. It averages to about two to three hours for me, depending on how much sleep I am getting. Basically, I try not to let my eating schedule rule what I am doing each day...so, for me, it is fairly flexible but I've noticed that is about my personal average.

I used to be totally addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper, until I began to read about the artificial sweetener, Aspartame. I had preferred it for many, many years and finally stopped drinking it and began to drink reg. Coca Cola. I figured I'd rather have the sugar calories than the harmful effects of Aspartame. I'm talking…

That is a little over 2 eight ounce glasses/cups of water. Usually when a program measures water it is in 8 oz increments. Or that is the way I've been used to measuring mine.

For me, counting calories is a means to a goal. I, personally, will have changed my eating habits by the time I reach my goal and that is what this site is for me. A means to learn portion size and what is good for me. I've already realized my eating habits before MFP were horrid. My metabolism had gotten so sluggish and I…

Best exercise to help is for the pectorals....and improving posture can help too.

Sounds great! I'll have to try it!

For restaurant meals, which are usually enough for TWO meals, I ask for a take-out box when I order. I split the meal before I begin eating. I eat half for my meal and the other for another meal. I have found several chain restaurant dishes listed on MFP and use that figure to get my calories eaten. I use half for the…

Got mine in the sewing notions at Walmart. It is in a little red plastic holder that locks when you pull out the tape and has a button to push and the tape rewinds. So easy to use!!

For me, it takes a while for the actual size of my body to change as I lose weight. Losing inches is the best way to see how your overall body size is progressing. Also, you are at about 7lbs lost...as the weeks go by you'll continue to lose and soon those clothes will be fitting perfectly. I have lost 13 lbs and still…

I agree! A healthy weight loss is about 2 lbs a week. You can do it!
-
Wow! And I thought losing eight pounds in one month was amazing for me! You have been doing an incredible job. Keep it up

For each 10 lb. loss I plan to give myself a non-food reward such as new shoes, haircut or clothes. At the halfway point I will reward myself with something like a spa day and when I reach my goal I plan to give myself a vacation.

May have to make one from scratch to not have all the fillers. Check out this recipe: http://gitaskitchen.blogspot.com/2010/01/fat-free-and-sugar-free-chocolate.html It looks pretty good!
