  • Tricep extentions, hammer curls, biceps curls, flies, etc - holding bottle/jug of water. To change the weight, simply pour out/add water to it. Alternatively, soup cans can be used, but if you have tiny hands (my 3rd year Guides have bigger hands than I do!) that may be problematic.
  • *whistles* love those legs! jealous! edit: love everything else too - you look awesome! I was just dumbstruck over the legs... :)
  • Hiya! I started in mid January, and as I work nights, nothing else is "convenient", so I've been using the Wii exclusively, a combination of Wii Fit (for "rest" days) and the EA Sports Active 2 for the Wii for my "workout" days. I have been fairly successful! On Wii Fit, all I usually use is the free step, set it to 30…
  • I have never had a problem with the "lady speed stick - invisible plus" line. You don't need much, and if applied correctly, there's no white gunk. If you overapply, you will run into problems though.
  • The apricot chicken entree would probably be your best bet. it's 390 cal including everything - chicken with apricot sauce, served with asparagus and brocolli. Healthiest thing on their menu! Avoid their salad dressing though... :(
  • I do! I do! I used Wii Fit at first, and have since moved over to the EA Sports Active 2... and literally, other than controlling my portion sizes and eating properly, that is ALL I have been doing! I have put it on the 9 week program on Medium, and get my butt kicked every workout, but I LOVE IT! In the (just over) 5…
  • Thanks everyone... I didn't see it myself until I was wearing the same shirt! Strange how our perception of ourselves is so different than reality sometimes!
  • Healthy is healthy. If someone decides not to eat at all to lose it quick, or to only eat 300 cals/day, that's unhealthy. Listening to your doctor and following a plan that is best for YOU is the only way to get something done right. Whether it involves surgery or not, it is completely centered around what works for YOU.…
  • Agreed. I am *finally*... after 4 years... no longer in the 20's for sizes. I put on my size 18 pants yesterday and danced around the apartment! To anyone who decides that that's still too big, or nothing to be proud of... I was in size 24's in January... so :P
  • There is no such thing as a healthy, instant fix. Think of it this way - the weight did not appear overnight, and it will not be gone overnight either. Keep working at it, keep it healthy, and you will succeed!
  • For sanity's sake, I would recommend using a "customer service" viewpoint: under-promise, over-deliver. IE: Set it for losing 2lbs a month. That way, if you lose more, you are pleasantly surprised, and it will be easier on your body to stay on target.
  • Very much so... perhaps they'll come out with something for the kinect... On a side note... EA Sports Active 2. That is all. lol. Definitely is helping me reach my goal, plus it is on a game system, so one time payment, and no evil people at the gym to deal with (and no recurring monthly fees!).
  • Don't worry! Just modify! If I can't do something, I modify. Instead of doing mountain climbers, I just do stride jumps standing up. It still tracks your leg movement (which is the same as a mountain climber essentially), and you are still burning calories, so I think it is a good substitution... Good luck, feel free to…
  • I have the Sports Active 2 for the Wii... not sure if it can cross platforms though... :( Good luck! I maintain that it is out to kill me ever time I start my workout... but after a lot of swearing and sweat, I feel great once the workout is done! I refuse to do mountain climbers though... I tried and ended up faceplanting…
  • Unfortunately for me, my family has very set menus for holidays, and my grandmother would probably die of shock if I changed it. And because my grandmother cannot, my mother has no time, and my sister can't boil water, I get to roast the goose, and make the traditional "even sticks to your fork if you turn the fork upside…

  • I have a bargain with my wonderful hubby - every 10lbs I drop, he gets me (or makes me) a present... or does something around the house that I have been putting off and will directly benefit me. First 10 lbs I lost, he cleaned the tub so that I could have a relaxing bath... that one was my favorite. However, when I get…
  • I'm curious as to this as well... either way it kicks my butt every time! Definitely a valuable weight loss/toning resource, and worth the money!
  • I have rarely been under on my sugar, HOWEVER, it is mostly due to naturally occurring fruit sugars. If you are dumping sugar on something or in something, and that is causing you to be over, I wouldn't really worry about it. I add a teaspoon of sugar to my cereal in the morning, but that's because without it, it just…
  • I used the Wii fit for Step (advanced and then free)... working up to 1 to 2 hours at a time. HOWEVER - my wonderful husband bought the EA Sports Active 2 for the Wii and I have to say, it's a much better workout. My butt gets kicked every time (I have it set to medium), but even though I go into it thinking "how is this…

  • Fairly easy conversion. 1 cup = 250 mL = 8 ounces. 1 Kilogram = 1000 grams = (aprox) 2.2 lbs
  • I LOVE creamy salad dressings, so that was one of my big issues when starting this. However, I have found yogurt based dressings (ceasar, cucumber dill, etc) in the produce section of my grocery store. Brand name is Renee's... don't know if it's a local thing or not. However, I would look for those, or buy the powder mixes…
  • Saturday and Sunday I do 1 1/2 to 2 hours of cardio in the morning to "get it out of the way" as it were. That way I can go and enjoy my evening (in moderation!), but I don't have to stress. As well, I plan out what I'm going to have at a restaurant before going, and stick to it, so that I can ensure that I'm staying at or…
  • The secret to a happy life (or at least what I've been able to put together thus far) is celebrating the small accomplishments and victories. Waiting for some big accomplishment or victory before you celebrate leads to a very unhappy state of mind, because at what point is something "worth it" or "great enough" to…
  • Vegetarian chili! And spices are your friend! -tomatoes (chopped or canned) -beans (whatever type you want! I put in kidney beans and chick peas) -carrots -celery -potatoes -mushrooms -corn -garlic -chili powder -mustard powder (may seem odd, but I PROMISE it makes it taste good!) -black ground pepper You'll need to play…
