  • I have a "little" Bernese Mountain Dog... 10 months old and about 75-80lbs. Small for his age, but that's ok, he'll grow into his paws one of these days. Profile pic was taken when he was 5-6 months old. His name is Gif :)
  • Third from the right on the bottom row... you look so happy!
  • Baking. It's kind of counter productive... lol
  • I was a lifeguard for 8 years. And I have only ONCE seen a guy who looked good in a speedo. And, gentlemen, it is time to retire the speedo when it develops holes. And, if you choose to then double up the speedos to extend usage, please ensure that the two don't have holes in EXACTLY the same place! I mean, I've seen…
  • Weirdest? Quite a few years ago my "comfort food" (and this may sound gross, but I promise, the way my Oma cooks them, they are DELICIOUS) was chicken gizzard. I've never really been a dessert/sweets person, more a meat and potatoes girl. So my Oma sent me back to University after a visit with a container of gizzards, and…
  • If directly asked, you can just say "After the orientation and getting a feel for the work environment, I felt that it was not the best fit for me." You haven't insulted anyone in saying that, and you maintain your dignity and integrity. As a side note: you should never devalue yourself enough to work for someone like…
  • I cut in half, roast at 350 for 40-60 minutes (depending on size!), remove seeds and run a fork through it creating those strands, then set the strands in a collander to drain. In a pan, I sautee mushrooms, zucchini and bell pepper. Once this mixture is almost at "ready" (I like it fairly soft, but if you like your veggies…
  • I still feel uncomfortable going to the gym, and I've almost reached a "normal" BMI. I think, deep down, probably everyone feels insecure at the gym. Some people deal with it by showing off to cover it up, others attempt being immaculately groomed and fear breaking a sweat. Bottom line: everyone's world view centers on…
  • I know it has been recommended... however another vote for EA Sports Active 2. I promise. It works. You put the effort in and it kicks your butt. Results are great!
  • I bake and cook. Counter-productive, I know... however I'm working on turning all my unhealthy recipes into slightly more waistline friendly experiences... If only I could figure out a way to make a healthy pie pastry... hmmm.... (and phyllo dough doesn't count.)
  • I've got the Myofusion stuff... vanilla flavour... and I love it! My morning/after workout smoothie right now is: -1cup of water -1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese -1/2 cup frozen strawberries -1/2 cup frozen blueberries -1 scoop myfusion powder -stevia to taste (I usually add 1 tiny scoop) -1 tablespoon lemon juice -1 tablespoon…
  • I work 9pm to 7am, so I have "Breakfast" anywhere from 5pm to 9pm, depending on the day (whether I'm working or not), lunch is ALWAYS at 2am, just because I'm a little OCD like that. "Dinner" is anywhere from 5am to 11am, again, depending on the day. Which means that my "Thursday" dinner is on "Friday" Morning... confusing…
  • Dinner with the hubby's family on Sunday, dinner with my family on Monday, so I've got two indulgent days! However, I've been prepping like a madwoman to get everything I need to bring done! I have a salad (no, not a healthy one... it involves a copious amount of bacon!), meatballs, a cake and homemade creme eggs (see…
  • Moderation and portion sizes is what it's all about. If you watch what you are eating - making sure that it has the nutrients you need, and how much you are eating - following recommended serving sizes, you will do fine, as long as you are following your calorie goals. However, changes to behavior are really tough to make…
  • You look perfect! Congratulations on your recovery thus far, and keep it up! That beautiful smile should never be hidden!
  • Squat: 125lbs Deadlift: 135lbs Bench Press: 80lbs Barbell row: 75lbs Overhead press: 70lbs (doing the stronglifts program at the moment, so all are 5x5's)
  • Thinking about getting protein powder as I seriously do not consume enough protein most days... this is a great idea. Bump!
  • I replace the mayo with the calorie wise kraft peppercorn ranch dressing. Adds a bit of flavour and cuts the cals (assuming you are using regular mayo) in half (approximately). EDIT: cubed white meat chicken, pepper, about 0.5 tbsp of srirracha sauce, celery, bell pepper, cucumbers are other things that I add, depending on…
  • Did you hear about the parsley farmer who was sued? They garnished his wages... Don't go out wearing a broken watch. You'll always have a bad time. ... that's it... that's all I got...
  • I plan every day in advance, and then before I eat something extra, I log it and "complete" the day. If what I want to eat isn't worth the difference in the "If every day was like today...", I don't eat it. Sometimes it is (homemade chocolate zucchini cake) and sometimes it isn't (crappy quality donut).
  • sorry... tried to fix... not sure what's going on there. Good work though!
  • HRM is the only way to tell for sure.
  • List your favorites or how you'd have it/customize it: 1. oatmeal - prepared in the microwave with boiling water, topped with cinnamon and brown sugar fried apples and a splash of light vanilla soymilk. YUM! 2. toast - gotta be my homemade cinnamon raisin bread, prepared as french toast (egg substitute, light vanilla…
  • The definition of insanity (doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result).
  • lol! Whichever co-worker of yours brought them in should be congratulated on that particular level of geek... it's Pi day!
  • You can absolutely use regular egg! The initial recipe was from a website, and was the full fat, "full flavour" variety. ;) However, while I've removed most of the fat, it's still wonderfully flavourful!
  • Perhaps try the phrase "I believe that (insert child's name)'s daddy should have quality bonding time with (him/her). What I choose to do while they are spending quality time together is ensure that I will get to spend quality years with my child and husband later." Let them try to undermine that one.... (insert evil grin…
