  • You need to answer any questions regarding your dietary intake honestly. If any lab results were to be inexplicably skewed the doctor needs to have some idea why.
  • Both sodium and cloride are needed by your body to maintain homeostasis or proper "neuro-electrical function" for lack of a better term. Generally speaking 1.5 to 2.0 grams daily is adequate.
  • You won't really succeed long term at that calorie level. Too many nutrients will be missing. Better to eat closer to 1600 calories with a reasonable balance between protein, carbohydrates and the ealthy fats. Don't eliminate starces but cut back on them quite a bit. Use exercise to lose the inches. The etter physical…
  • Congrats on your success!!
  • Might depend on how much and how physical the cleaning is. I logged 8 hours of what mfp called heavy cleaning and said I burned 2811 calories. This was sweeping, dust mopping and we're mopping a 5,000 sq ft dining room and then setting 24 tables.
  • I used t have that kind of craving. Ihave pretty much eliminated starches and refined sugars from my diet and those cravings went away. It is my belief that cravings are a result of some nutrient missing from the diet. I think it is usually the minerals or the various phytochemicals. It seems to me that a diet which…
  • Some of those small waisted gals may have been overweight not so long ago. You can be small waisted as well if you let their diligence inspire you. My dad always told me,, you are no better than anyone else and you are no less than anyone else. Hold your head high and be confident that you will get yourself back into a…
  • If butter can be deep fried then it would be easy to wrap a banana in bacon dip it in batter a nd deep fry. Might have to tooth pick the bacon in place though
  • I understand what youu are saying but marketing gurus are playing to womens perceived vanity so the charts won't be accurate until women demand accurate sizing standards.
  • Sizing of womens clothing is a meaningless joke. Buy what fits properly and forget about the numbers.
  • The "bad" reputation comes from the starch content which is easily converted to sugar. This can be a problem for some people trying to lose weight. Most people though are easily able to enjoy bananas on a regular basis. As I recall apricots are as high or higher in potassium than bananas.
  • No cravings since I cut way back on starchy foods. The starchy foods are occasional beans, baked potato or a squash soup.
  • It has a mapping program on it which causes the bike to incline or decline and change pedal resistance based on the incline/decline. I believe it also changes pedal resistance to reflect average wind resistance on the particular route you select. IIRC the intro price a few years ago was USD $1299.
  • I prefer to weigh every morning as you mentioned. It keeps me thinking in the back of my mind to watch what I eat but I don't get crazy by the numbers. I know from past experience that my weight will fluxuate. Daily fluxuations are usually retained water. I also know that the weight is not the end all be all of this…
  • I just stay out of the junk food aisles. I get pproduce first along with fresh fruits, then over to meats, poultry and fish. Next is frozen veggies and then finish with dairy & eggs. Straight to the checkout counter and leave. I have a list and a set amount of cash to spend. No debit or credit card. Pretty much forces me…
  • If you can wiegh or track salt/sodium accurately enough try to do a 2 gm sodium diet. You might want to start with a "NAS" or no added salt diet. Also you can try the light salt which has less sodium but more potassium.
  • If you are hungry you should eat something small. For me , a small serving of cheddar cheese or peanut butter helps.
  • Several years ago I was doing leg presses on a machine. I had it set on its maximum and would have anyone willing to sit or stand on part of it to increase the weight/resistance. Did 3 sets of 15 reps with no trouble. The weight without people on it said 1100 lbs. Not sure how accurate that machine was though. Another male…
  • I my experience two things seem to trigger the starving feeling you describe. One is there may be too large of a calorie deficit. Secondly, I think the quality of the calories you are taking in makes a difference. By that I mean the micro nutirents in the Foods you eat. Vitamins, minerals, isoflavones and other…
  • You may be adding muscle mass which is offsetting the weight of fat you are losing.
  • I really don't think it takes vigorous exercise to lose weight. I don't do any "exercise" currently and have lost 13.4 lbs since Jan 1st. I do try to stay busy with yard work, house work and working around on my small acreage tending to the cattle I have. Just enough effort to get warm and a little bit sweaty. In the past…
  • Swimming is easy on the knees but it really drove my hunger and need for food through the roof. After a trip to the pool I just couldn't stop eating. I swam in an indoor heated pool and built up to one mile at a very slow pace. I have busted knees but I find that walking or backpacking at a slow pace(based on my heart…
