<---- This is my opinion on these "meanies of MFP" threads

I think this was helped along by a thread the OP started about a recipe and parents... noone was rude to her by my perception but several people suggested she was judging some parents with limited information- i.e. without the whole picture *shrug*

In all seriousness, the only things that throw this over the edge for me are the butter and ranch dressing- cause it sounds ick, the added garlic salt cause it is already salty foods, and the frying. Kids need fat. Nothing in that is inherently bad. If I were to prepare that, the pepperoni would be nuked on paper towels…

I think so too :smokin:

FWIW, in the first post as quoted above, you said "studies have shown". You did not say you read those studies. perhaps you felt it was implied by mentioning that the sources were university studies and med orgs but you just said studies. Aaron's question was perfectly fair given the vagueness of that verbiage

that. Add people with whom you have something in common MFP-wise. Preferably more than just age. I recently had someone add me cause we're a similar age. Within days, I determined she eats well below her calorie goal every single day- sometimes half her goal (and her goal is not high). I dropped her from my friends list…

yep. cup for cup, the carbs are almost the same - so I'd go wiith the greek yogurt for all that protein. But, I get plenty of fat elsewhere in my diet

My point was not whtehr or not her BMR was impaired vs what it should be statistically. My point was that if she has truly been eatiing <= BMR+100 for 2 months, she absolutely would have lost weight. Therefore the most likely culprit is inaccurate logging and second is some other undiagnosed condition that a whole battery…

I know right? It amazes that so many seem to actually prefer to think the whole world is out to get them and that everything is harmful. And not only believe all anecdotal "evidence" but also ignore anecdotal evidence that doesn't align with their beliefs

I have lost breast size as Ive lost weight but I am still a largish cup- my cup size actually went up as my band size went way down (which does make sense if you know how sizing works). But, I have had large breasts since I was 12. Building muscle won't add or take away breast tissue but I do agree it helps support and…

I just want to ditto the previous posters - read all the threads posted above by jwhite and talk to your kids' doctors. Be healthy :flowerforyou:

Not to mention espousing the merits of high priced supplements on other threads :noway:

I weigh 5 lbs more than you, am 43, 3 inches shorter and I have PCOS and IR (I.e. metabolic disorders). I also have a sedentary desk job. I lose weight on 1500 calories a day. Presumably, we ll like food or we wouldn't be here right? Why be more restrictive than necessary? Take a look at all the links posted above by grace…

Read the thread. Her estimated burn above BMR is 850 - which is very reasonable for all activity and exercise and thermogenic effect of food when awake

I don't blame you. You have been unbelievably patient and I have learned a crap-ton from your posts. While I think Monsanto corp is not exactly altruistic (duh! Corporation), I am glad to have the myths about aspartame debunked and learn a ton about science shizz too. Science wasn't my fav subject - cause math!!! Anyway,…

Never mind. Beaten to it twice or thrice

I weigh all solids and measure all liquids. Everything except restaurant food ;). Some people do just fine eye-balling and using measuring cups but that would be the first thing I would tighten up if I wasn't losing. And, yes, I weigh fruit. Most apples sold loose are at least 100 calories for instance. Multiple servings…
