  • Welcome. Most anything I would tell you, has already been said. But just wanted to reiterate that some anonymous d@@che on craigslist does not define you. Use that anger as inspiration but don't believe that crap. You are worthy of love and respect - esp from yourself. Set realistic goals. Know that there will be bad days…
  • For what it's worth, I am probably older and definitely shorter than you at 44 and 5'1" I have lost 44 lbs since my 43rd birthday by increasing my activity level and eating 1400-1600 plus half my exercise cals. Your TDEE is higher than mine- and, besides, why start with so low a goal that you have nothing to cut later? No…
  • All of the above. I wouldn't be trying for 1 lb a week weight loss at your current weight - esp given the illnesses. I would set your goals to 1/2 lb of weight loss or even eat at maintenance for a couple weeks until you're re-adjusted to a heavier exercise regimen
  • I occasionally use a HRM at my typical classes and use the average burn to add here. But I still only eat <= half the calories back - in part because my MFP settings are already at a small cut - less than .5 lb a week. I also tend to eat out too much on the weekends so it helps me manage those guesstimates and overages…
  • 5'1" Weigh about 172 and wear a size medium top (even with relatively bigger bust size) and size 12 bottoms. I carry all my weight in my belly   I started at 216, size 16-18 bottoms and size XL tops
  • I work out anyway (as my schedule allows). I find that I usually feel better for doing so even if I ahd to make myself go
  • tagging for later
  • I split mine into 3 meals and 2 snacks- the snacks are usually about 200 each, breakfast is 200-250 and the rest is split between dinner and lunch
  • I don't kno how much protein you are getting as I can't see that in your diary - but I would concentrate on eating %35-40% of your calories from protein and add in rich fiber sources. Your fiber is REALLY low- fiber is not only good for you, but it also helps you feel full longer (as does protein). Since that seems to be…
  • I have MFP set to sedentary because my exercise and activity level is irregular and I have a very sedentary desk job. So, I let me fitbit capture higher levels of activity like laying out pine straw last night and my warm-up for my resistance training (that I don't log calories for at all). I log activities for my TKD and…
  • *duplicate* oops
  • he sugar vs stevia lowers the calories by about 30 per muffin according to that website linked above. Thats a pretty decent cut to me :) That website rocks!! Thanks to poster above for linking it :D
  • in for chocolate... also, do you ahve the nutrition info on them? Thanks
  • Yum! I need to try these!
  • I actually like cauliflower - and the cauliflower-crust intrigues me but only cause I am allergic to bakers yeast. But the thought of cauliflower-sushi is gag worthy Oh - the OP is dead-on -even for those of us with metabolic disorders. I do go reduced carb due to PCOS and ir but I can still lose weight with occasional…
  • Duff's is the best wings place as far as i am concerned/ Cant wait to a family reunion in July so I can get my fix :D
  • Tagging to find this later :)
  • We're going to a restaurant - seasons 52. Beauty of their desserts is that they are mini (served in shot glasses) and <= 300 cals each. Good thing cause I have Cadbury eggs and chocolate covered marshmallow eggs calling my name :D
  • I just finished reading that article buut I found this one helpful as well: http://ontheregimen.com/2013/08/28/how-to-weigh-meat-cooked-or-raw/
  • for one thing, 4 oz of cooked meat started out as more than 4oz raw. Also, some database entries are just plain wrong. I try to weigh and use pre-cooked whenever possible as I'd rather "charge" myself for some of the fat that gets cooked off than accoubt for too little cause of cooking differences
  • Googled Twinkie diet and professor  http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/
  • I no longer mindlessly eat whatever crap my husband or kids eat. I also have given up a tremendous amount of time that went to other hobbies to spend with a trainer and going to workout (TKD and a HIIT type class).
  • What she said.. Except my vitamins aren't quite that number of calories. And it never even occurred to me to log tums. I have been stalled for months but I know my issue is logging in general (was inconsistent for a while) and too much dessert in particular. Definitely not the small stuff like this. Right now, I'm just…
  • FWIW, 50-70 calories for a piece of dark chocolate is not going to derail progress very much. i would totally either change my meal plan or accept that my weight loss is being slowed down by that little bit of calories for the day and move on *shrug*
  • A piece of lindt (or other good quaklity) dark chocolate. If I really can't fit into my day's calories, I will have a no sugar added hot cocoa or I will mix unsweetened cocoa and a stevia into my greek yogurt for a pseudo chocolate pudding
  • Meh. I bought a bag at Costco cause the sample had a nice nutty taste. But, after a few bites at home, I decided I don't really like it enough to eat it. Gave my unopened bag (the made at home was actually at my mom's) to must ministries :p
  • This is me too. Jelly, jam, peanut butter, ice cream, etc all list 2 measurements for a serving. I ALWAYS weigh out the serving in grams but usually log in the equal tbs,cup measurement. I also build my own recipes. They aren't normally marked homemade but they may look pretty generic despite the weighing and calculating…
  • You have lost a little more than 2 lbs a week, yes? That implies a 1166 Calorie deficit on average per day. Given that you are eating back exercise calories on top of the 1900, it sounds like that TDEE number is pretty accurate. If you add up all the calories consimed for the same time frame, you should have a very good…
