I agree. Perhaps you can fit in more exercise and end up not just slimmer but also fitter. Don't eat back the exercise calories though. All the best

I think it best to choose the calories for an inactive person, and to eat up to an extra 300 cals so long as I do at least 600 cals of exercise a day. If I eat back all my calories (especially the fitbit just walking around ones) I do gain weight. The fitbit is great as it encourages me to walk more and get up the league…

I am in maintenance. I do plenty of exercise, but I don't eat back all the calories. If I did I would put on weight, so perhaps the sites and apps overstate what you burn, or perhaps I don't quite get it right logging. Any heart rate monitor is only as good as the algorithm inside it. I use a woohoo chest band linked to…

I find I try and stay within 200 of my maintenance even if I exercise a lot. It is working so far. I tend to do around 500 to 1000 cals of exercise a day, mainly walking and some running. My plan is to log, and change things if I need to depending on progress. Is working so far, about 2 months

That is what I am doing, but based on MFP cals which are close to the basal metabolic rate cals I worked out from a website. Fitbit gives me way too many calories. I am finding that I should not go more than 200 above my base calories, even if I am quite active, as otherwise I put on weight. However, really strenuous…

Listen to your body. If you are not hungry, don't eat

I am thinking of getting the app zombie run and using it to make jogging more fun. There is an MFP group for users. Might that work for you? Do you have a few key MFP friends? Hopefully this post will generate some good ideas for you.

This site is a good way to go about loosing weight, so great that you have joined. You need to find some friends, and you will find motivating each other is helpful, logging your exercise, what you eat. You might want to post a new topic with a catchy title like Looking for mums of toddlers or such like. My kids are older.…

I try and fit plenty of walking and treadmill in. I have a Fitbit pedometer, and something like that or perhaps a heart rate monitor is very motivating as it adds in a bit of competition.. I seem to have some active friends here, one of whom has replied to your message. Add me if you want someone who does a fair bit of…

Hi. To answer your second question first, yes, if you eat less than your body needs you will get slimmer. So, if you log all your food and keep within your chosen calories you will shrink. I personally don't agree with the idea that if you do exercise and use 100 calories then you should eat 100 calories more. For me it is…

I am in NZ and will send a friend request. I am finding MFP really good after several years of in theory being on a diet.

Keep up the good work. Great results.
