how many carbs do you have per day
-
Depending on how bad of a splurge you plan on I would not eat less during the days leading up to it because that will likely make you hungry leading up to it and make you eat more. I would just do my best to make whatever you plan on eating that day fit into your macros, if you do go over a bit it will be ok.

I like to have at least 3 or 4 days of recovery time for major muscle groups. If i had 3 days in a row I would break it into Push, Pull, Legs.

I know what you mean, I weighed 150 three years ago. I used to only do cardio and lift weights but had no structure and I thought carbs were the devil. I didn't really notice a drastic change in myself, I would only notice when Id run into people I had not seen for a while and they'd ask me for advice and stuff.

Find a new doctor. Out of curiosity what pills did he give you? Was it something thyroid related?
-
Oh also I do not do long cardio sessions, I will run at like 75% top speed for maybe 15 minutes and every few minutes or so Ill sprint as fast as possible for half a minute or so. I have no science to back this, just what I have found to work best for myself.
-
During my bulks I usually drop cardio back to once a week or so and just make sure to eat more to make up for the calories burned. Dont worry about your abs fading, thats what cutting is for.
-
Just keep at it bro, you've got a great start going. One thing you should do is have the attitude that you can and will do it. You already know how, just keep doing.
-
agreed, according to BMI for my height and weight Im very obese, yet I wear a pair of jeans that still fit when I was 60 lbs lighter
-
For your stats that is extreme. Try 1lb a week and it will be a lifestyle you will keep long term and not rebound
-
May not work for you, but if you find a workout partner it can be very helpful. When I was first starting out sometimes I would not feel like going to the gym but would end up going because I told my buddy I would be there.
-
Right on the money.
-
Deadlifts work much more of your body than your back. When I started to really focus on deadlifts I made radical changes in my physique.
-
they may not be good for your long term health, but my personal experience for fat loss is they are fine
-
this.
-
Whats wrong with that?

For what its worth, my girlfriend has similar goals to you and was discouraged when there was no change after the first month. She kept at it and has lost about 10lb total I think now. Keep at it, you will see results and like someone else said focus more on protein carbs and fats and less on sodium tracking.
-
Eat more. You will spin your wheels with the weight training if you do not eat enough to let your body repair. The scale weight will go down for sure, I will grant you that.
-
eat more bro, when possible try to choose whole foods over powder. Post workout protein is a good idea, I like Optimum nutrition Hydro Whey.

Maybe you could have your BF% done in a body pod or by a professional. When I cut I get into single digit bf% and look great but I also know for me at least its impossible to walk around like that year round. Some people can, but without superior genetics most cannot. Usually it takes much more effort and spot on dieting…

how tall are you?
-
Look into intermittent fasting (IF) and set your macros below maintenance cals. I know a few people that said they love IF and claim their energy levels go up once they adjust to it.
-
When I cut I still follow IIFYM (if it fits your macros) and eat anything I want as long as I can fit it in.
-
add a glass of milk or yogurt between meals
-
How your clothes fit and how you look are a much better sign of progress.
-
Does not matter, as long as you hit your macros. Whether that is with 2 meals or 8.
-
any protein with brown rice, whole wheat pasta, sweet potatoes. Throw in olive oil for healthy fat. Choose the amount of each to based on your macro goals.
-
Take a look at optimum nutrition - pro complex. Its a blend of fast, med, slow release protein. Optimum has a natural option which if I remember correctly does not include artificial sweeteners.
-
.6 lbs is nothing to worry about. Your weight fluctuates during the day, pay more attention to the mirror and how your clothes fit and less attention to the scale.
-
Correct, could be something like a thyroid issue. Go to Dr. and get physical with bloods. At 1100 cals per day you should lose weight even if your only exercise in the day was preparing your meals.
