  • Quoted from earlier comment: "A Calorie is a Calorie doesn't matter if you eat Mickey D's or a Vegan Diet from a loss standpoint (nutritional balance is a separate thing)" I totally agree with this statement, especially after viewing so many food diaries on MFP of folks who are losing weight. Sure, you may not get to eat…
  • Is this a good time to start talking about hCG and 500 calorie a day diets? Too soon?
  • Love this - thanks for sharing!
  • Congrats - you look fantastic! Plus, you must be a Seahawks fan if you're now in BEAST MODE so even better! Keep up the great work.
  • I don't know how to add gifs so please pretend this is a picture of a fluffy baby bunny eating a piece of bacon. Because, bacon.
  • I had read about it and was hoping with fingers crossed that I'd find some legit info that it's helpful for people with sinus problems (one article claimed it helps). Didn't find enough good info. Will stick to my neti pot.
  • This is exactly what I do as well. I text my mom my weight every morning and she keeps track of it in a calendar (yes, I am 39 years old and my mom is tracking my weight for me - ha ha). I don't know why it is, we just started that a long time ago (we are both trying to lose some weight). I log my losses on MFP.
  • Absolutely amazing. Your post brought tears to my eyes! You look absolutely beautiful, healthy, glowing! Seeing you with your son really hits home, too. I have a 7-year-old daughter who is growing painfully too fast, and I want her to spend her childhood with a fit, healthy and happy mom. Thank you a million times over for…
  • Nice work! You look great. I love your straight-forward approach to the process: eating a sensible amount of food + working out. I'll be 40 this year and the lightbulb has finally *FINALLY* gone on for me that that combination WORKS. It's no joke, and not easy, but it WORKS. You are living proof! Thanks for sharing.
  • ^This right here. I have lost 16 pounds since Jan. 6th by eating everything I love, just in moderation and minding my macros. I want this to be a forever plan, so I will not deprive myself of what I love. No sirry-bob. Life = too short.
  • Wow, this was really nice and thoughtful of you to do! And congrats to the OP for taking the first step!
  • Totally agree with this! I'm a similar weight (5' 7" in height) and have been losing weight on an avg. of 1600 cals/day with one free meal per week. You can do it!
  • I realize this is a question and not a suggestion (although I think some of the suggestions made on this thread have been good ones though) - but I have a question about the FitBit: does it breakdown the calories you burn from exercise vs. the calories you burn just in general (i.e. being alive)? You said you're burning…
  • Thank you all for the kind and inspiring words! Each day is WORK between exercise and making the right food choices, but it's good work, and I'm feeling stronger every day. One note re: 30-Day Shred that I forgot to mention: a few of you have said you've tried it, gotten bored, etc. ME TOO! But, I figured out a strategy…
  • I agree with everyone above - except the part about Santa and the EB, for shame! **mom of 1st grader over here, waves hand**. I do eat 6 small meals a day, but I don't eat breakfast first thing (I get up at 7:00 and eat breakfast at 9:30). I do, however, eat 1/2 a banana or a handful of grapes before my work-out (I do…
  • I give myself one "free" meal every week, and I don't cut calories to make up for it. In my late 20's I did a program called Body For Life that allowed one whole free DAY a week (hello, doughnuts!) but now that I'm - ahem - a bit older, I think that one free meal per week is reasonable. For me (can't speak for anyone…
  • I don't think you were bad at all! I allow myself one "free" meal per week because I want to enjoy life and not feel like everything has to be so rigid. I have lost 8 pounds in about a month using this method (I only started logging on MFP after I'd lost 6 pounds already, in case you're wondering about my 'creative math'.…
  • Thank you so much! Really helpful.
  • Thank you! I think I figured it out after posting this. I went in and deleted old weight entries so that my starting weight was 167, now that it's 165.6, my ticker reflects the 1 pound loss. Thank you!
  • Ha - I think I figured it out! I had to delete some old weigh-ins so it would show my *new* starting weight of 167. Now it seems to be "tracking"....!
  • Hi ladies! I'm a 5'7, 164 pound, 38 year old mama. :) I wear size US 8/10 jeans, size 8 skirt/dress and medium tops. My goal weight is 135, not sure what size clothes I would wear at that weight.
  • We have 2 cats! Some days I feel like I should input cat fur into my food diary. MAN that stuff gets everywhere. Love 'em, though (the cats, not their fur).
  • I definitely get what you're saying. Not that I LOVE seeing my body either way (yet!) I've noticed that things like back fat and tummy rolls are accentuated with a bra and clothes on. Plus, when I'm nekkid, I always get a second look from the hub and a , "Lookin' good!" :) Never bad for the self-esteem. I am laughing at…
  • Absolutely fantastic! You're gorgeous! Well done.
  • I'm as confused as you are re: calorie consumption so I'll let others respond on that front, but I just took a look at your food diary for today and wanted to say NICE WORK! It looks like you're making really healthy choices - it definitely doesn't look like the Top Ramen and pizza plan that I was on in college! Annnnnd,…
  • I just want to say that it almost makes me want to cry when I think about what an incredibly supportive network that MFP is. I just joined last month and have reaped the benefits already. This is a perfect example: here is a person in the moment needing help, she puts a post up about it and BOOM - she gets the support she…
  • Hello? Hi. YOU ROCK. Seriously, I'm impressed on so many levels: 1. Your foresight to hang onto clothing that would prove useful later. 2. Your photo documentation. 3. Your writing style. 4. Your attitude. 5. YOUR RESULTS!! I am so inspired! Thank you!!
  • I have been as confused as the OP on this topic - it totally baffles me - and I've done the roadmap from helloitsdan step-by-step. This formula that you just posted actually seems really logical and close to what I came up with after doing the roadmap too - it would put my calorie range at 1530 - 1820 which seems…
  • OMG, I meant OTC not OTT! They are Over The Counter, not Over The Top (although it might feel that way when you're done).
