  • Thanks for all of the replies. I do very well on water so that's not a concern and have no kidney issues. So I guess I'm good.
  • Wow. You look amazing!
  • Honestly, it's just been this week. I am almost 4 weeks in and have lost a little less than 10 pounds. I've tried and failed so many times because I had it in my mind that I couldn't eat any carbs or that I had to keep it under 1200 calories (even if MFP said differently). I would go off track and then not get back on…
  • I have a protein shake for breakfast every day. I can't stomach food first thing so I drink my shake on the road to work or at my desk first thing. And that really does fill me up until lunch. When I cook dinner, I cook enough to have leftovers the following day (or two days) so that I don't have to worry about lunch.…
  • I LOVE my food scale and it makes things so much clearer. I get a TON more vegetables than I thought I did and I'm able to make the decision to not have pasta or cheese since I don't care that much about and it's not worth giving up that many calories for it. But as another poster mentions, sour cream makes me sad.…
  • I WISH I were that way. I am never, EVER thirsty. On my Outlook at work, I have a reminder set to ping me at different intervals reminding me to drink. I DO get my water in and more, but that's because of conscious monitoring.
  • The entries that I've been using haven't indicated cooked or raw. I assumed it was always cooked. I'll do some more checking on the different database entries. Thanks!
  • I try to do my own cooking and take home made food for lunch, but I keep a few in the freezer in the event that something happens and I don't have anything to take for lunch. It definitely saves me from the work cafeteria, where goodness knows what the nutritional value of the food. But yes, the sodium can be outrageous!
  • Boy, that's tough to hear. That's just what I needed!!!!
  • If you can't portion control then the only thing you can do is stop buying it. I don't crave chocolate very much but I broke a large candy bar into 100 calorie portions. Occasionally when I want chocolate, I'll have the small bag for 100 calories. But chocolate isn't a trigger food for me. What never gets past the door in…
  • My Chinese place will steam chicken and broccoli with no additives. That's REALLY the only thing there I can eat and have any confidence in being able to count the calories. But really, Chinese food is SO good tasting and SO incredibly bad for you when you order from the menu that I have to just stay away. I am usually…
  • I'll be watching the responses to this thread. This is my first week and I was planning to add some lentils and legumes in. I do know that I cook beans with a good bit of salt so I know I'll have to be careful with that. Did you check the sodium content of yours? Could be a contributor.
  • I get the grilled pork chop and turnip greens and usually allow myself a couple of bites of my DH's hash brown casserole. I could eat my weight in that stuff.
