  • On my second visit to my dietician, who really didn't tell me anything I I didn't know, the only thing she did that helped was getting me to log my food, and what foods to avoid for my health issues. Anyway she lost it when I told her I had been eating avocado "because of the calories" I never went back
  • swimming and recumbent bike. What is your injury? I had a serious knee injury that finally required surgery, I was in Mexico when I injured it or I would have had surgery then. Swimming and the bike were the only thing that helped other than pain meds and all that did was mask the pain. The less I used it the more it hurt.…
  • One hour in the gym for me makes up the calories of the high alcohol per volume IPAs I drink. I don't really drink anything less than 8.5% or so, with a couple exceptions, and my new favorite is 11.5% but it has a few more calories. I am limited to the number of beers I drink because of a health issue, but oddly the amount…
  • I hit my first of many goals, to weigh less than the posted top weight on my home scale. It tops out at 330 pounds (it will actually read up to about 336) I hit 329 and was craving something sweet and chocolate, it was brownies. Well being a guy and single I decide to just go and buy some premade from the grocery store,…
  • I drink ensure or the generic store copy of it. I have health issues and sometimes I can't do solid food for a couple days. Ensure works for me, lots of vitamins and the taste isn't bad. 250 calories each, with 25% of many vitamins, 9g of protien, 40g carbs, and 6g of fat. Gluten free and safe for lactose intolerance
  • I have a medical issue that causes me a great deal of pain, sometimes the only way to stop this pain, outside of Dilaudid in the hospital, was to not eat for 3-4 days. I would then not eat for a couple more days because I wasn't having my usual pain. The longest I went was 10 days. After the 72 hour mark it is kinda neat…
  • in the "fat burning zone" you burn a higher percentage of fat than in the "cardio zone" however you will burn more calories in the cardio zone. The "fat burning zone" really is a way to train for endurance events, not necessarily burn more fat. If you burn more calories it doesn't really matter where they are from when it…
  • I have a medical condition that nearly killed me once, indirectly nearly killed me a second time and caused me to live in constant pain. I switched doctors and talked about non-narcotic ways to deal with my constant pain and the doctor said I should lose weight, as that could directly be causing the pain. So complete diet…
  • I already answered on page one, but now that I think about it some more it is rather pointless. I will have crushed my enemies, seen them driven before me, yet there will be no lamentations from their women since they are all too young to marry (mothers don't count)
  • All of them also the first one becomes a weapon
  • I'm the same, I'm 6'5" 331, there is a guy who is 6'6" 330 who is very close to what I look like. I don't have any full body pictures of me, so I couldn't contribute, but it did help by checking out what people looked like around my goal weight
  • It's all I use for cardio, I do an hour on level 10 out of 12 doing hill profile, basically 1 minute of increasing resistance followed by one minute of less resistance and combined with diet not only have I lost 19 lbs since 1/1/13 but I've notice quite a bit more definition in my legs. If you are sitting there on level 1…
  • The big flag to me is that it looks like a forum post made from a guest account.
  • Flying Dog Raging ***** IPA is 8.3% and something like 250` calories [ETA: the board censored the name, but it is the term for a female dog] it is very delicious, very "flowery" in it's taste if you are new to IPAs it isn't a bad one to try. IPAs can be a bit bitter if you aren't used to them Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA is…
  • Yeah, I have two close relatives that have had all or most of their colon removed because of diverticulitis, my aunt had the bag for only a few months and she has been "reconnected" and my other aunt just had hers taken out, but due to her age I think she is stuck with the bag for the rest of her life (she's my great aunt…
  • That's why I'm here, I'm losing weight with the help of doctors and a dietician. I have a GI issue that nearly killed me in sept of '09. The ER doc was amazed that I drove myself in to the hospital and told me I should have called 911. I spent 4 days in the hospital under infection precautions, best part was that meant my…
  • 6'5" here max weight 380lbs yo-yoed due to health over the last couple years from 380, down to 290 and back up to 350. I was 350 on jan 1st this year join MFP a couple weeks into jan. I've lost 20lbs since 1/1/13 (just guessing I haven't weighed in an a few days, but I was close). I don't have a goal weight, but I have set…
  • I had a fairly bad knee injury playing soccer in Mexico as a teen. I lived there for 8th and 9th grade because my family was sent there to work. The medical care down there is... different. I should have had surgery at the time, ended up getting it 6 years later. For me the best exercise for the knee is the bike. I pop in…
  • Not exactly valentines day related, but in high school my entire social circle, including my best friend suddenly stopped talking to me. Almost over night. I found other friends, who turned out to be better people, and a few of the good people started to hang out with me again, but it took several months. It turns out it…
  • lol and to the thread, sorry for quoting the derailer, happy to get back on the topic of... er... self love
  • AKA thinks will earn sex if enough nice guy points are accumulated
  • Allow me to translate, as I used to kinda think the same: I go after women I find physically attractive but have zero in common with, while focused on this woman I miss out on the women with mutual interests that also like me and are attractive but I complete miss because of my intense focus on the girl I have nothing in…
  • My main goal to to reduce the amount of pain I live with from a GI issue that has the docs kinda stumped, secondary to that is losing weight, well the weight loss is the method of reducing the pain, along with only eating the foods I know don't give me issues. After seeing result and improvement in how I feel I'm aiming…
  • Your thread over on the ARFCOM is was lite the fire of motivation under my butt. I had already made the switch to healthy foods and half *kitten* counting calories, but not limiting them, just keeping track of what I ate. I was doing cardio every day and lifting about 2 days a week, I've upped my cardio time and intensity…
  • Magurgle here Aiming for 300 in june, 280 by september and a short term goal of under 330 to drink beer again. My home scale tops out at 330, but will read about 5 pounds over that before an error message shows on the screen I was 350 on 1/1/13 333 on my last weigh in a couple days ago
  • if I have a craving I eat it, I don't fight it because I know I will end up binging on it later if I don't. I'm just careful and log the calories and as long as I stay in my goal range I'm good with it. Better to eat one slice of cake today then the whole thing three days later. Not only do you go way over on calories…
  • I quit drinking soda over a year and a half ago, I no longer crave it. Since then I've probably had some maybe 10 times if that. Not counting the few times I've had some sort of mixed drink, like jameson and ginger ale. High alcohol percentage IPAs, double IPAs and imperial stouts are what I drink when I want to do some…
  • I found the choices on MFP to be too broad and subjective. I use what the machine says. for example I'll do an hour on the bike, on level 10 of 12 and it says I'll burn between 650-700 calories, MFP says that would be over 1000, so I go with the machine, and I try to use the same machine every time
  • I workout fairly hard, and I use rest days, I don't schedule them but take them when I feel I need one, usually about once every 10 days or so. I don't workout on those days but I will still do stuff. I do a lot of cardio, and lift maybe 3 days a week sometimes I skip one or two days between lifting but still do cardio
  • I've got some strict dietary restrictions because of health issues, I took a quick glance at your diary and it was like a list of things I can't eat  I'm mainly focusing on calories in vs calories out, and my diet doesn't change much much when I cook for myself, I'll end up eating the same thing everyday, plus I…
