Lifting programs with just the Big Four with an upper-back accessory (Squat, Bench, Deadlift, Press, and rows/cleans) are the most time-efficient ways to get stronger fast. The discipline needed to gain strength carries over to all parts of life.

"Could lead to" == there is no evidence but it fits my narrative.

Most of what's out there in popular and mainstream media on weight loss and fitness is total crap.

Unrelated to fitness at all: Repaired the clothes dryer with USD 40 in parts and all of about 30 minutes, most of which was vacuuming out the old dust. Repair guys wanted USD 150 to just come to the house. Thank you, PartSelect for both an easy parts buying and repair video experience!

This presumes we know how food works. We're still in the infancy stage of that knowledge.

Screw fat activists and their stupid agendas. For a group that proudly bellows "*kitten* your beauty standards!" they seem to be very concerned with the idea that they're called beautiful.

I get an hour train ride into the city and walk to work from there - about a half-hour with traffic and crosswalks. I use Varidesk's timer to remind me to get out of my chair, and walk sometimes at lunch as well then eat at my desk. So far, I've logged 563 miles this year. "Can't do more" is a matter of prioritization. My…

I set MFP to sedentary and log everything. So far, walked 563 miles this year.

A small number of 'medications' make any measurable difference in losing weight: EC stacks and DNP. And both, done wrong, will kill you. Now that I think about it, corpses keep losing weight...

Like all shopping, it's knowing your price points. Their bulk bins (oatmeal, for instance) are cheaper than buying pre-packaged off the shelf at the grocery store and has a better flavor. Their hot food bar is AMAZING, competitively priced, and tastes better than the local supermarkets. If you want the all-natural,…

How must test-e was he shooting? Because that's the only way he's putting on twenty pounds of lean mass in twelve weeks.

Not a lot of calories, and it's goooooooooooooooooooood.

Got precisely zero support from family, but did get significant resistance in the form of "You're losing weight too fast" at a pound or less a week loss and "you're too skinny" at 30% bodyfat. Keep your eye on the goal, because in the end you can only lose weight and get fit for yourself.

I got through mine with a not-doctor-recommended solution - 800mg ibuprofen four times a day, chin-ups, and lying triceps extensions. Took about a week for most of the pain to resolve, and another two months to totally go away. As for what caused it, it was a combination of three weeks of heavy snow-shoveling combined with…

Also, be sure to not conflate weight gains with fat gains - a fair number of medications cause water retention. It's kind of unfair to beat yourself up over water weight.

Ask ten people what "clean eating" is and you'll get twelve different answers.

Food logging. It works for all ages.

The whole "healthy vs unhealthy" food debate is a silly semantics argument, but may make a psychological difference in how someone approaches their food choices.
-
There's no "healthy vs unhealthy" foods. There's more optimal and less optimal.

If you can stomach solid food, try high-water content foods - watermelon, cucumber, iceberg lettuce, celery, tomatoes, etc. The electrolytes certainly won't hurt either. Ginger tea may also help; ginger's a decent legal nausea fighter. If its legally available in your state, medical marijuana can help as well.

Grilled turkey tips. That is all.

Sitting for long periods of time is incredibly detrimental, especially with an ill-fitted chair. My n=1 experience is the more I sit, the more I ache. Getting up and moving stops the same pain.

Let me put it another way: My bottom weight was 156.6 lbs. It's currently 185lbs. My waist size hasn't gone up at all, and I still fit into the same medium shirts I did thirty pounds ago. The difference is the muscle mass I've put on. I'll reiterate: Once fit, scales measure weight; if you want a better idea of what's…

The "science" of it neutralizing free radicals is nonsense. But it is fun, and there's some evidence that closeness to the earth - whether via walking through the woods, gardening, and/or just being outside and away from modern life - lowers feelings of stress.
-
The scale is a lousy measure of anything but weight once you're fit.
-
I don't bother tracking calories burned by weight workouts, only the time.
-
Read this. The "toned" look is a combination of lowering your bodyfat and increasing muscle size. There's no magic.

Home gym all the way. Plates, Rogue rack with safeties, bench, platform, and a pair of bars. Only downside is the purchase price, but that gets made up by not paying gym fees, travel time and costs, and the ability to spend two hours in a squat rack if the mood strikes.

Hell yes, video lifts early in the program and often, especially on PR days.
