  • I recently went through something similar with people making comments which were backhanded compliments, then it got to a point where people were saying things directly to try and make me feel bad about myself, like making a stinky cheese face and telling me none of my clothes fit, etc. Now if I don't want to open up a…
  • I will do one of the following: As mentioned in the thread, I'll pick a similar dish from a chain restaurant and use the highest figure. Or I will be that person I'm sure waiters/waitresses hate and have them make the food my way and be overly specific. Tell them how you want your food cooked, no butters, oils,…
  • Nice work everyone--this thread is very inspiring. My before and during--during is a little older, but I'm not due for new progress photos until later this week. Keep it up everybody!
  • bodybuilding.com has alot of videos also on how to perform the actual exercise/movement. If I'm unsure about form on a specific exercise related to lifting and can't find it on their wepbage I turn to youtube and search for the proper form/movement there. I have had good luck so far. Good luck!
  • Thanks for sharing!
  • I used to eat them all the time and was still able to lose weight, they tend to have alot of sodium but if you drink enough/alot of water it's not really a big deal in my opinion. But, as I increased my workouts and explored food options I noticed the frozen meals did not keep me hungry and that I could have alot more…
  • Good luck! I am doing something similar, avoiding grains/potatoes, no processed sugar, etc, but am not doing the vegan thing. I'm almost finished with my 30 day cycle and it was hard at first but has gotten alot easier. My suggestion would be to do lots of research to find recipes/variations to all your favorites. Once I…
  • At first I hated Greek yogurt, then I tried it with 1/2 yogurt, 1/2 unsweetened applesauce and thought it was good, then I experimented with adding some naked granola and fruit and liked it...then I dropped out the granola...and now I can even eat it plain and really like it. It took me awhile to adjust to the taste, but I…
  • I've stopped using spaghetti pasta and only use spaghetti squash in place of pasta and sometimes make it au gratin like hashbrown casserole. I've never cooked my squash in the oven though I always use the microwave. Excellent substitute and very versatile.
  • You look really great, love the dress in your goal pic! Great job!
  • It happens to the best of us, I'm sure it'd be hard to find someone that does a balls to the wall workout and doesn't have a sweaty body after, and even a sweaty crotch. We're all human, and are at the gym for the same reason, wear your sweat proudly, and who cares about what other people think. On a more personal note, my…
  • Holy Sh** Sarah, look at those guns!! Great job, and you ARE fitter and HEALTHIER now that you were last year. You're in better shape and can do so much more now fitness wise than then, be proud of yourself! GETTTT ITTTT!!!!
  • It's probably not proper that I find this commercial funny, but I crack up every time and my sister and I, who work for the same company, will sometimes quote it to this day... "No, it's sexual harassment here..and I don't have to take it!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vP7kPrdayTM
  • Also good if you pour it into a reduced fat graham cracker crust and drizzle with sugar free hershey syrup. Nice peanut butter pie :)
  • I had a true blood party for a fried two years ago and the signature drink was a strawberry margarita, we called it the Magistar's margarita. We also had a menu we made up from Merlottes with kabobs, cocktail food etc. It was a lot of fun! Pininterest will give you a ton of ideas or google trueblood party theme HBO had a…
  • WOW, you look like a different person! Great job!
  • I'm attempting to break through a weight loss plateau and doing very low carb to try and get my body back into weight loss mode. I am on day 2 and doing pretty OK, so far, coming in under 70g of carbs both yesterday and for what I have planned today. I did some research before I did my weekly grocery shopping and the fruit…
  • I smoked a pack a day for 10 years and tried everything to quit, but nothing worked. Finally in January 2011 I got Chantix and have been smoke free for a year and a half. It gets a bad rap, but for me personally it is my miracle drug. I loved smoking and just the thought of it now disgusts me. I took it exactly as…
  • Encourage your daughter to apply for scholarships externally (www.fastweb.com), or even through www.nelnet.com, you'd be surprised just how many people want to give away free money to someone struggling to go to college. Also inquire if the school offers a Federal Perkins loan option or Federal Work Study which would allow…
  • One time I went in the locker room after my workout and there were women just laying around on the benches--naked. I'm no prude and realize it's a locker room where people will be naked, and could care less, just wasn't expecting naked naptime...
  • What a difference great job!!
  • My seven year old neice has severe food allergies and eczema is one of the primary side effects of most of them. This would be my first guess as to what could be the culprit--take your son to an allergist and have tests done, this will help you to determine what he can/can't eat and should hopefully help clear up the…
  • I      Cherry Coke!!! I try to only drink soda once/week and Cherry Coke Zero is a good substitute I think. If you don't want to do diet, and really want to kick the habit though, just wean yourself off it, that is what I did to get down to once/week. I used to drink soda non stop all…
  • WOW, you look GREAT!! Awesome job!!
  • Wow, thanks everyone again for all your compliments and encouragement. I spent the week out of town last week and got slightly off track towards the end--reset today (had a brutal lunch workout), and seeing all your support makes it that much easier! Thanks~
  • The things I've found most helpful to me so far are: 1. Log and measure EVERYTHING you eat, no matter what, don't guess 2. Get a heart rate monitor so you know what you are really burning, don't guess here either 3. PLAN PLAN PLAN, your food, I try to plan everything the night before, that way there are no surprises 4.…
  • Holy crap that is awesome results---nice work!
  • LOL! Thanks Sarah we are def getting it with our lunchtime lifting! We're going to give those athletes in the weight room a run for their money in no time!
  • Thanks! My current exercise program is Couch to 10K 3x/week, combined with New Rules of Lifting for Women 2x/week, and I swim about a mile a week which gives me about 5-6 exercise hours/week. I do not follow the NROLFW food program, I just make sure I stay under 1550 calories total (not net, don't eat many exercise cals…
  • It was $12.00 well spent. The book is broken into 3 primary parts-- Part 1: Author's Notes/Theories/Position on Food/Fitness Part 2: Food Program Part 3: Workouts and exercise guides The lifting program is broken into phases, each phase has two workouts (A & B), you alternate workouts until each phase is complete, (book…
