  • Waking up before your alarm is a good sign! I tend to have purposeful naps where I set an alarm for 30 minutes or an hour and then lay in bed. Then when the alarm goes off, I get up, have a glass of water... and carry on with my day. I find it helps me feel less stress and be able to study or focus more. Even if I can't…
  • Are you really tired at this time? Perhaps you snack to fight feeling tired? If that's the case you could take a nap or go to bed earlier.
  • What caused you to start binging? I think binging is a symptom of some larger problem rather than being a problem in itself. If you find out what caused you to start binging and work on that... Or perhaps now there are certain situations or feelings that cause you to binge? From what you wrote about sneaking food at work…
  • I think a scale is the best way. But for me, I'm just living temporarily in a place and I don't want to buy a scale... The other day I wanted to weigh some spaghetti. I had a 400g packet of spaghetti so I thought that having around 70g portion is good. So I took all the spaghetti out of the and divided it in to 6 portions,…
  • For me, alcohol. If I eat a 500 calorie meal I'll be full and satisfied. If I go out drinking I can easily drink 800+ calories of alcohol. If I control myself and have 3 drinks, that's still around 500-600 calories.

  • I love peanut butter too. I can only find Skippy PB here... I love either type, crunchy or smooth, but crunchy is better when you want to eat it straight off the spoon. My favourite ways to eat it: Blend with soy milk and frozen banana to make a smoothie. Mix in to oatmeal. With apple and raisins. Straight off the spoon…
  • Good advise! I live in Japan at the moment so I can't follow much of this... there's no coupons and larger packages of meat cost the same per gram as smaller packages. :( Some tips I follow: Check the dates of everything you buy and pick the things with the longest date (eg., yogurt, milk) so it doesn't go bad before you…
  • What do you usually eat for breakfast? Do you feel tired after breakfast? For me, sometimes after breakfast the combination of being bored, not satisfied with what I ate and being tired, would cause me to pick at snacks.
  • I eat white rice around 5 times a week and still lose weight. You just have to be careful of the portion size. I usually eat around 180-250 cals worth of white rice as a portion.

  • When you say that you've been thinking about chocolate, ice cream, etc., in what way do you mean? You're thinking that you want to eat them? Or do you feel anxiety towards these foods? Maybe it seems or feels too much like an eating disorder to completely avoid certain foods but I think that if ice cream and chocolate…
  • Do you tend binge at the same time each time? Are you getting enough sleep and rest? How about your meals? Have you made any changes to the type of food you eat and what time you eat?
  • I guess it's not healthy because it's just 100% sugar and fat, but I like boiled sweets. I found some chocolate and vanilla flavoured ones recently, and they're really good. Especially after dinner if I have a craving for something sweet. Only 20 calories per sweet!
  • Thank you for the link and the advise!
  • It might help if you eat something carby after you drink, like some bread or rice. It works for me! Just make sure it's healthy and small of course.
