  • You could have one beer, just to enjoy it and savour it. Then switch to a spirit (vodka, gin, etc.) with a low calorie mixer (sugar free cola/lemonade or carbonated water). A measure of spirit plus low cal mixer is around 60 calories.
  • You can make basically any recipe lower calorie by using different ways of cooking. For example: - Buy protein with less fat content (lower fat mince, chicken breast instead of thighs, seafood and eggs instead of meat) - Remove visible fat and skin from meat - Use less oil when you cook and add a little water if the food…
  • I don't think it is too skinny. For me, I'm 5'2 and 109lbs. I'm small framed pear shaped, so for me at this weight is the only time I feel like my legs are slim. so I think this is a good weight for me. But like the above posters said, it's best to focus on health and getting enough nutrition.
  • What is is made out of and how is it healthy?
  • Yeah kimbap is so good! I only went for three days so I couldn't try a lot of stuff... but I hope Korean food becomes more popular in the US and UK.
  • Hey OP did you try tteoboki (dobokki?) in Korea as well? Y'know the rice cakes with spicy sauce? So good!
  • For 1200 cals: B: 200 L: 300 D: 500 S: 200 (usually I have a snack mid afternoon and after dinner).
  • Maybe you're not eating enough? If you're hungry a lot of the time then it's going to make you think about food. But perhaps once you get in to a routine and have a good rotation of set meals you know you can eat without going over on calories, then you'll feel more relaxed. You could even plan out your daily meal in the…
  • I love kimchi too. I've heard that Korean people have much lower rates of cold and flu in the winter compared to Japan because of the amount of kimchi they eat. It has a lot of good bacteria in. I eat kimchi a lot. It's good with noodles, in soups, with salad, on it's own.
  • From my memory (too lazy to google evidence to back this up) eating ice cream is good for TOM in two ways: 1. dairy products helps to relieve period cramps 2. because ice cream melts at body temperature, eating it improves your mood and makes you happy Also, have you seen the one ingredient banana ice cream recipe floating…
  • Everyone's advise is really good so far. You should also find the time when your supermarket reduces items. Some supermarkets tend to reduce everything by 20% at say 4pm then 50% at 8pm. If you find out when your supermarket reduces things (even if you ask one of the staff members) you can buy things like meat and dairy…
  • This advise seems so confusing to me. I would say that starving (among other things) DOES lead to binging. It's why people rapidly gain weight back and more after crash dieting, or why bulimics starve then binge then repeat. The OP is not a loser and is not making excuses...
  • Interesting quesion! (following)
  • I live by myself so my weekly grocery list tends to be quite short. Soy milk and yogurt (to make overnight oats) Vegetables (whatever is in season, at the moment a lot of tomatoes and eggplant) Salad (lettuce, cucumber) Tinned fruit or if I can find cheap stuff then fresh fruit Kimchi (to use with noodles, omelettes, or in…
  • But I guess you don't have to worry about this too much if you eat mostly non-commercial foods? Or more natural foods? For example, things like fruit and vegetables should always have a similar amount of calories, right? And maybe things like rice, pasta, meat, etc.?
  • Thanks everyone for the advise so far, I feel quite relieved. I guess I will carry on with 1 serving of fruit a day but try to eat a wider range of vegetables (at the moment I mostly eat just mushrooms, salad and kimchi...).
  • I don't suffer quite as bad as you, but I tend to overeat on sweet food if I'm tired. To combat this, I usually have a cup of coffee, then a 30 minute nap, wake up and drink something cold. At this point, the caffeine kicks in so I don't feel too tired and I think the cold water helps me feel awake and I stops me from…
  • Just to let you know.
  • Instant ramen was invented in Japan...
  • MSG itself isn't bad for you, probably just the high fat/salt/sugar in the food you ate. Drink water, eat light and fresh food, you should feel better soon. :)
  • I had an eating disorder for around 5 years, I've been thin, a little bigger than I am now... and at one point I was throwing up 3-5 times a day... 3 days without puking would be a triumph for me. Now I've probably thown up about 3 or 4 times in the past YEAR which I never could of imagined would be possible. Recovery is a…
  • I get bored of breakfast too. :( Usual breakfasts for me: overnight oats yogurt and fruit smoothies boiled egg and cucumber on ryvita crackers salad with boiled egg You could google some omelette recipes? Mushrooms/tomato and cheese are good with omelette. Kimchi too.
  • Do you eat enough carbs with your meals? Sometimes I find if I eat less carbs at lunch or dinner it makes me crave sweet food more afterwards.
  • Having naps isn't a bad thing, I think. When I'm tired it causes me to overeat on sweet foods so I nap quite often. I just set an alarm for 30 minutes or an hour later, take a nap then get on with my day.
  • Agree with the above, use less oil. I think if you put tin foil on the baking tray it will help keep the vegetables from sticking to the tray.
  • I would be more concerned about eating processed foods than sodium if I were you. Craving salty food can be due to an electrolyte imbalance... do you eat enough fruit and vegetables? Bananas are good for electrolytes. Also you should drink plenty of water, if you're thirsty it can make you crave salt.
  • I drink soy milk outside of the 7 days quite often. One time it tasted funny though and when I poured it out in to the the sink there were strange lumps at the bottom. :( Kind of turned my stomach a little but I try not to think about it... About storing milk, I think it's best to put it towards the centre or the back of…
  • This just my personal way of thinking about it but... Clench your hand in to a fist and that should be a good size portion for potatoes. Also, you need to consider what other stuff you eat with the meal if you eat potatoes. For example, if you eat a potato dish with rice, then you should decrease the portion of potatoes.…
  • I choose E. Chinese food can be really healthy if you cook it at home yourself and it's easy to find the ingredients in the supermarket. Stir fry + rice + soup is a filling, balanced meal so I don't dread Chinese food at all.
  • I can't think of any. A lot of healthy foods I trained myself to like, like coffee, olives, beetroot and natto (which is notorious for being a hated food). I'm stubborn against not-liking foods so I find that if I keep eating something I grow to like it.
