I started in November and have run a 5k training run in 29:20

sounds suspiciously human to me

Work out how many calories you need per meal, portion accordingly.
-
Agreed

Is it a cultural thing? If not then I think you need to tell them to lay off you, or get new friends. That doesn't sound nice at all.

I am also respectful of a vegan lifestyle if someone is really ethically opposed to farming, slavery of or killing of animals for human means, however I am having a little trouble understanding how you can be totally opposed to egg and milk farming but still be ok eating fish. Fish aren't plucked out of the sea in a bed of…

It was 45 lb of water weight. it's coming back tomorrow

I hated being in a college dorm after the initial novelty wore off. Staying at home wasn't an option as I had to go to another town to study, but I wish I'd had the guts to go into a shared apartment in my first year. My sister stayed at home and never made as many friends at college as I did though, so if it's a good dorm…

Well you are eating a very restrictive diet, so I am not surprised you saw so much loss so quickly. 1000 per day isn't enough calories to survive on, and bear in mind that about 4-5 of those lbs were your glycogen stores (aka water weight) that will come back the minute you start eating a normal diet. You don't have that…

Totally agree.

Could also be irritable bowel syndrome. You could test negative to lactose intolerance on a hydrogen test yet still get digestive symptoms. Try excluding it from your diet for a week and see how you feel, then take note what happens when you eat it again after a week.

Ewwww! I used to collect pee samples and analyse them for micronutrients but that is so much worse. Although it does remind me of a nutritionist I know who collected womens' menstrual blood for a study looking at iron metabolism... I was never brave enough to ask how she achieved it

Just hide their posts! The great thing about facebook is if you don't like seeing it you can remove those people from your news feed. Problem solved. Being the grinch isn't going to change their behaviours, it just makes you look like you have a problem seeing high-calorie food. And that is your problem, not theirs.

I have travelled a lot and in my opinion Croatia wins hands down!

You will get a headache if you stand upside down like that all day.

Can I just point out that on its own the car isn't the problem, it's what you do with it. Perhaps you could invest in some good wet-weather gear for winter biking?

Re water weight: drinking more water won't replenish this store in your muscles and liver, that only happens when you are not in a calorie deficit. If you drink more water it'll just get filtered out in your kidneys. I read on one of the posts here that one way to avoid the inevitable increase in weight from glycogen/water…

Ahhh! OK :)

The hair loss will almost definitely be a protein thing, but can also be affected by lack of other vitamins and minerals too. It matters if you want to have a healthy body that can successfully do what you want it to do, e.g. exercise, feel good, look good. I have had also had problems meeting my protein goal, so add…

I agree with the water weight comment. If you suddenly drop your calories and/or increase exercise your body's carbohydrate reserves get used up. It's called glycogen and it is attached in your muscles and liver by water. When the energy gets 'harvested' by your body from this it loses the weight from water that was…

-10lb = stomach and face - 20 = arms and legs, boobs - 30 = butt - 40 = hips

Effective if you have a vitamin deficiency. If you're not deficient then it's just expensive urine.
-
This hits the nail on the head, I think.
-
All good, I'd have responded the same way if I read my comment with fresh eyes. Have mentioned that story a couple of times on here now so it's good to get some feedback that it comes across with totally the wrong point!!
-
Agreed! Great to read.

What I meant was, I was losing weight logging in my diary at what my calculated TDEE was. The point I was trying to make was I upped my calories and was still losing. As you have pointed out it was obviously not my TDEE!
-
What they said. But also: If you do want to try eating at 1400 then give it longer than a week. I upped mine to TDEE from 1200 once I reached my goal (in November) and although my weight immediately went up 1.5kg I am now having to eat 200 a day above my TDEE to stop it going down any further. I think perhaps mine is not…

That wipes out fruit salad for me. Unfortunately I have some serious problems with the word 'strawberry', comes out as 'strawbilly' every time. Humiliating.
