It's only been 12 days. Stick with it - if your calculations are right and you are logging everything after weighing it then the weight will come off. If after a month you don't see any weight loss try chatting with a doctor or opening your diary for some feedback from MFP. Make sure you are weighing your food and checking…

About 100 cal higher than what MFP calculated and 250 cal higher than what was calculated for me by IIFYM.

Hi all, Thanks for the good information and ideas. For now the bodyweight exercises I'm doing are challenging but we have also got some equipment at home like a pull-up bar that I can work with. The tip about calisthenics is a good one, thanks to those who mentioned it - gives me something to work with. Cheers

If you cut off a leg, sure. Otherwise you're just going to have to do it the normal way, ie slow and steady.

I think the hard thing is the realisation that this is how you need to live your life from now on. Weight loss is arguably easier because once you've managed to get your head around the calories in vs calories out equation it is relatively easy to lose weight and be continually excited that it's working. Maintenance isn't…

Summarising my thoughts: 1. Get your thyroid checked and treated if you have a thyroid problem. 2. If the advice from your OB hasn't worked for two years then see someone else, preferably someone who is qualified to advise you on nutrition, I.e. dietician or nutritionist. If you think it's another medical issue that's…

Fine, except you're way under your goal. 1200 is already a very small amount of calories to eat so if you are going to aim for 1200 then you need to be eating all of them. Less is not better in this case.

Janey has explained it well. If you ate one thing for breakfast that had 50% carbs, 30% fat and 20% protein then your pie chart would look perfect but you would still have a lot left to eat for the day.

I usually cook brown rice for 45 mins. It is faster and easier if you can get a rice cooker.

Fat has more calories per gram of food than protein. 1 gram of protein has 4 calories, 1 gram of fat has 9.

Well it shouldn't be a question, in fact I think any post with 'cleanse' in the title should be automatically banned. Don't subscribe to some broscience idea that a cleanse will fix your problems. Maintaining requires hard work, just like losing weight does. A 21 day program is not going to permanently or even temporarily…

Yup. Get some professional help. 600 calories per day is ridiculous and I'm not surprised you are binging. PS calling yourself 'miaangel' contradicts your statement that you are not supporting EDs. Seriously, get help.

The only thing it'll rid you of is your colon's contents. It isn't a magic fat-burning potion, and by taking it you will see when you *kitten* out everything that is in you you are just falling into the trap of rejoicing when the scale goes down, rather than knowing that you have lost fat. You want to lose fat, not *any*…

This was also my experience on an anti-anxiety drug. I felt great, but had a supersized appetite and when I gained weight I was still feeling so good about myself on the pills that I didn't get the normal 'oh god look how much weight I've gained' shock until I was up 40lb. Once I weaned myself off the meds it was…

It doesn't 'ban' it but the low FODMAP diet is developed as an elimination diet do help people with IBS to determine what foods give them symptoms. Broccoli and a bunch of other fruits and vegetables (unfortunately) contain short chain carbohydrates that people with IBS find particularly difficult to digest. Eating these…

Hope you are well and running again soon madmiss. My last couple of runs have been 10km each. The last one was meant to be about 8km but I managed to take a wrong turn in the forest and I got myself stuck behind a huge fence that I had no way in hell of scaling. This was meant to be my shortcut home so I had to double back…

Fruit salad with mango, melon, strawberries, fresh cherries, grapes and pears. If I'm going to die then IBS symptoms don't matter!

I cook/portion out my dog's meals for the week. And read

I'm currently doing the bridge to 10k program and will be deciding soon if I will push on to a half this year or stick with 10-15km distances and tackle a half next year. Feel free to add me (same goes for anyone else who wants running friends on MFP)

Whaaaat?? Most of the 'mean' people are the ones who actually know what they're talking about. Seriously if you think people making comments like 'you're not eating enough' are just saying that because they want someone to remain fatter than them then you have a serious problem.

This sounds like a really good way to lose 190 lbs in a week. Well done for making the decision, and I hope you can continue to kick *kitten* without him dragging you down. And you will find a far better replacement for him when the time is right! The one positive thing about being in a relationship like this is you learn…

No, it's got broccoli in it. And Splenda

Are you eating back the exercise calories that were calculated by the treadmill or by MFP when you input the exercise? Treadmills can be very inaccurate (ok so is MFP but in my experience MFP reports lower calorie burns than treadmills). And as mentioned by Dewymorning below, are you weighing your food? if you're not…

Trim milk and an Equal tablet should keep it sweet without too many calories.

Great decision, and I wish you the best of luck!

Had those several people managed to maintain their weight eating a balanced diet afterwards? You yourself have identified that the problem with it is the transition back to a normal diet, so why, when you already know how to eat well, would you risk trying a method that you aren't sure is sustainable? What will you do if…

The fact that you see it as 'boosting' your weight loss when you had already started to lose weight is a little concerning. Slim Fast reduces your calories but it doesn't have any magic ingredients in it that are going to make you lose weight more effectively, it also doesn't provide much fiber and it certainly doesn't…

From a nutritional point of view it is harmful to eradicate entire food groups from the diet for no medical reason, without ensuring that that patient is capable of going out on their own and achieving that diet. People following strict gluten-free diets often struggle to get sufficient amounts of all essential amino acids…

In the last 10 years there has been more medical focus on the issue, but most importantly it is now much cheaper to do the specific blood analysis that is required to diagnose it. This has increased the number of people diagnosed and then following a gluten-free diet for medical reasons, and that has also increased the…

I totally agree.
