  • "Always surround yourself with those that bring out the best in you, not the worst." I'm finally listening to this one and it's made all the difference in the world!
  • THIS. So much this. I totally use leftovers in my other meals. In fact, I got married a month ago - and we had leftover chicken from the dinner. For the next week, I specifically planned meals that would use up some of the leftovers... I don't see anything wrong with it. And yes, even if you're preparing your own food at…
  • I googled to figure out approx how many calories are burned for how much I weigh and I added it myself. I know it may not be perfectly accurate, but it's close enough for me!

  • I know this feeling! I'm getting married in 5 days, so I'm definitely in my own kind of crunch time! First of all, I think awareness of the possibility of a setback is a good thing. Knowing that you don't want to have those snacks/meals from the get-go is a good start!! That said, I have to load up on healthy/easy snacks.…
  • 9 days here!!! I'm also in the "don't lose more weight" boat since it's so close. I can't stop working out though, so I'm just focusing on getting my arms a little more toned up before the big day! Congrats to all you other brides to be!
  • Thanks! And I will report back how it goes.
  • Thank you toxicat - I think you summed up what I've been thinking. It's not expensive. It's mostly water + some good-for-you stuff. And it's not a typical "detox" or "cleanse" where you stop eating or extremely restrict food intake. You just drink this in addition to your normal (ALREADY HEALTHY) eating habits. Again, what…
  • I actually just started this yesterday. I read a lot of reviews before starting - some that said it helped flush out water weight and they felt great, others that said it did almost nothing. I figured it can't really hurt - I mean, it's water, tea, cranberry juice, and lemon. I discovered that I think it tastes really…
  • I'm in! I go to Zumba class at the Y once a week. But I also have the Zumba Wii game. I'd love to fit 25 hours of Zumba into my April!
  • There's no reason larger weddings cannot be relaxed and fun. And it is possible for brides of larger weddings to not be bridezillas... We're getting married in May. We've invited just over 300 people. I'm very focused on our wedding being all about my future husband AND myself, not just "It's all about me". I lost my…
  • I've experienced this too. I'm not so much trying to lose a bunch of weight as I am trying to get healthier/feel better. But because of that, my friends/family don't think I need to take it so seriously, therefore, they don't take it seriously. That definitely makes it harder. I don't know what your social obligations are…
  • Maybe find a 30 day program or something like that. Something that encourages you to go each and every day, knowing that those 30 days will be up soon. Then when that's done, you should be back in the full swing of things and continue to feel motivated! Just a thought... Good luck!
  • My fiance is currently enrolled in a weight loss "class" through our work. To get our insurance discount for the year, it's necessary that he take the class. The class has told him not to eat breakfast. What is encouraged, instead, is drinking this nasty water down orange juice crap first thing in the morning. I'm not…
  • I just finished 30DS and I loved it. I consider myself to be FAIRLY in shape, but holy cow those were tough! 20 minute workout (25 including warmup and cooldown) and I definitely felt it. Good luck! Hope you find something you enjoy!
  • I understand your needing extra motivation. I'm getting married in May, but I've been engaged for a year and a couple months already. Having the extended timeline before the wedding makes it hard to stay motivated! So while, in terms of planning, you probably feel like October is right around the corner. In terms of…
  • My family will say things like that and then tell me that it's because they're trying to challenge me. Such as, when I was in college and had gotten an A- on a big exam. When I told them, the response I got was "Why isn't it an A?" They say negative and hurtful things and then hide behind the idea that they're motivating…
  • I do this too! I splurged on some awesome sugar scrub/body wash for myself, but I'm only allowed to use it after I work out! I like the immediate reward each time I work out rather than having to wait until I've accomplished a bigger goal (like losing pounds).
  • I was already planning to start tomorrow! A group would be great for my motivation. :) I'll friend and include measurements tonight or tomorrow!
