A lot of brands now sell protein blends which contain whey, egg and casein proteins. Saves having lots of different tubs open :)

Both egg and whey proteins are good choices and I wouldn't say one is necessarily better than the other. Whey protein is a faster digesting protein than egg protein, so is a good choice to have just after a workout. You could always mix the two so you get the benefits of faster and slower digesting proteins. Obviously…
