  • I don't care for beer at all, but I do love a nice glass of cider.
  • Just finished W5D1 on my lunch break. It's been rough every week, as I'm a lumbering fat guy, but I've made it so far. My goal is to run the entire length of the Luminate 5K in Atlanta on November 8th. Good luck all, you can do it! Feel free to add me if you want to compare notes. I try to post after each day's run.
  • Sweet! I want to work with thermoplastic at some point, seems like tons of folks are making awesome stuff out of it. Did you have a heat gun, or did you use a hairdryer or something?
  • I commissioned someone to do my first big cosplay costume, and I got lucky that they did a wonderful job with it. It was pricey, but well worth it on the value side. On the other hand, I didn't feel nearly as accomplished, since all I was doing was wearing it. Even though my current costume I'm working on won't be as well…
  • I know I don't drink any water that they put chemicals in. Just look at all the stuff that comes out of the tap, like dihydrogen monoxide. Do you know how many people that stuff kills every year, but somehow the government wants to claim it's safe for us to drink?
  • I found a nice rub online over at one of my favorite grilling/meat webites www.amazingribs.com (http://amazingribs.com/recipes/rubs_pastes_marinades_and_brines/meatheads_memphis_dust.html) I've used it on ribs, porkchops, chicken, etc etc.
  • I had the zombie family stickers on my car up until recently. Only took it off because some of them started peeling. Really, there's only so much paranoia that I can give a f*** about. Is letting somebody know there are 2 adults, 1 kid, 1 cat and 1 dog in my family really going to make it easier for them to somehow attack…
  • BRB, going to change my profile pic to my kid now. :D
  • My gobbo baby is 22 months old, and she has two modes: bottomless pit or lockdown. By and large, she eats what we eat, which is nice because a little bit of leftovers go a long way for a toddler. She eats a lot of fruit (blueberries, strawberries, kiwis, grapes) for snacks, along with graham crackers, peanut butter, etc…
  • The expectation for men (and really, for people in general) seems to be set pretty low sometimes. I got compliments from like 3 different women when I showed up to shop on seller's day at one of the local Kid's Market consignment sales, just because it was surprising that a husband would take an interest in getting things…
  • Like most articles, it's just link bait...unfortunately, I took the bait and clicked..now I want chicken and asparagus and to make out with a lifting woman wearing neon while taking photos of us doing curls and posting memes. :(
  • Looking good, ma'am! Congrats and keep on keeping on!
  • This is one of the shots of me as Robert Baratheon from Game of Thrones last year at Dragoncon. Enjoyed the heck out of it, but it was one of the few big guy characters out there that I felt my body type would fit. Working on fixing that now, and hoping to get a Star Trek Next Generation Klingon costume all put together.
  • Hitting up Alabama Phoenix Festival in May, then Gen Con in August, and Dragoncon (woot!) in September!
  • I hear you, there's nothing that p*sses me off more to see some of the ignorant stuff people say about cosplayers' pics. I remember this one gorgeous TARDIS dress that went pretty viral and all people could say was insulting things about the awesome lady who made it.
  • Heya! I'm a beginner cosplayer myself, did my first real one at Dragoncon last year. I chose Robert Baratheon from Game of Thrones because let's face it, not a lot of cool fat guy options out there. I'm working on learning more of the creating skills now (taking some sewing classes and such) and planning on trying to dip…
  • YMMV, and this is just my experience so far. I had been exercising with just cardio, usually about 30 minutes of elliptical a day, and keeping watch on calories, and I was losing weight pretty steadily. I had lost about 30 pounds total, which put me around 303 (Holidays came and I got back up to around 305-307, dang it)…
  • I started out close to where you're at and the biggest advice I would give is to be patient and never give up. Even if you have an off day, don't use it as an excuse to fall into bad habits. Don't overexert yourself with exercise, I'd recommend starting with walking and building up to more and more. My best friend for…
  • I'm not usually one to speak ill of the dead, but good riddance to bad rubbish. The world needs fewer people huckstering people out of their money and hurting people for a quick buck.
  • Obviously the power ring is throwing off the calculations! :D (But seriously, yeah, BMI is a gross generalization that doesn't take into account a lot of different factors.)
  • My 14month old daughter absolutely loves these. We can't keep enough bananas around the house to make them. :) Now me, I'm picky about my bananas, so she can have them. :)
  • Nice! Is there a link to whoever does these? Would love to get the Thor one.
