  • Pretty much exactly what she said! I don't eat that stuff. I have one "free day" where I have 1,000 extra calories for the day. If I am super tempted I will have one bite.
  • Something I have every morning is zucchini panakes. They have healthy carbs, protein and vegetables. 1 zucchini shredded 3 egg whites 1/3 cup oat bran 1 tsp cinnamon Mix well. Makes 4 medium pancakes. Serve with sugar free syrup.
  • The rule of thumb to weigh yourself once a week is a good one because when you burn fat there is a gain of water in it's place for a short time. The scale will never accurately show your calorie deficit from week to week because of muscle gain or water fluctuation that comes from hormonal changes, varied sodium intake and…
  • Eat before you go Have a drink in your hand (lemon water or club soda) Eat a mint If your hungry choose some things that are low calorie, eat it in one sitting and don't pick at food for the rest of the night.
  • Maybe he agreed reluctantly? You should talk to him and see how he really feels. The bottom line is that we are all responsible for what we put into our own mouths. It's hard to have tempting things in the house and you can express that to him but holding his feet to the fire may be making him rebel.
  • I'm obviously not a man but, I think the sooner the better. Dating is hard when you are just getting back out there. You need to remember that it's not about presenting yourself in a way so the guy will like you. On the first date you should be asking yourself if this is a guy you like and if his values and lifestyle match…

  • I wish I could offer some stellar advice here, I am no where near maintenance. One thing that I know is that BM is not the whole story. The information is helpful but there are so many other factors like the quality of food, ratio of macro nutrients, type of exercise, etc. The only thing that has worked for me is a program…
  • I know how you feel. That goal setter on the site is a major reality check. The good news is that once you get there you will have made a lifestyle change!
  • I saw it...so crazy! Worse than the the guy the week before! 1) it takes your body a year to stabalize after a major loss. Your body wants to put the weight back on. 2) I read some stuff online that Chris Powell sends the clients emails telling them how to do a flush before the weigh in. Not that I see anything wrong with…
  • I am on a carb cycling plan that allows for one day to have 1,000 extra calories. For me this is good because if I allowed myself things I wanted several times during the week I would starve myself most of the day to have something that was junk and it would throw off my macro nutrient ratio and spike my blood sugar…
  • I know how frustrated you must feel. I was there a few weeks ago. After keeping a 1,000 calorie deficit for 6 weeks I had only lost 4 lbs. I think I am insulin resistant. I started Chris Powell's carb cycling program 5 days ago and have already lost 4 lbs! I have renewed hope. Sometimes it's not all about calories in,…
  • Milk products have a lot of sugar in them. I am trying to watch my carbs and sugar and I can put a serious dent my sugar allotment on a cup of 0% plain Fage yogurt which has 9g of sugar. So like everyone else said, if there is no reason to watch your sugar than don't worry about it. If you are trying to watch your sugar…
  • Yup...punched it into my graphing calculator and that's the answer. BTW- you can go to wolphram alpha and type in the equation and it will give you the answer in several forms.
  • I will check out periodization. I definetly need to change something!

  • Thanks for all the info on your workouts. I will check those out. I am guessing these are videos that you are doing at home?

  • I have PCOS but I feel like I have reversed many of the metabolic issues that I once had when I lost 60lbs a few years ago. I have gained about half back. I know that PCOS never goes away but some of my symptoms have disappeared as of a few years ago, especially irregular periods. That being said, I am ready to lose again.…
  • That is funny. It says some weird stuff to me too. I have it on because I think maybe one day it will have such a gem it will all be worth it! Your post really encouraged me because I have been stuck at the same weight for two weeks and knowing that one day I could get up and see a 3.5lb loss gives me hope!
  • I haven't heard the term "periodization". Does that mean working out throughout the day and not just having one monster exercise session? I will have to look that up. It sounds like you do lots of bike riding, that's great exercise. Outdoor activity is out of the question for me right now. It's 95 degrees at 5am here! It…

  • I decided to quote this post instead of the one above because I can't figure out how to edit the quotes and the length is getting out of hand! LOL I was feeling pretty toned when I did BFL. Maybe you and I are gaining tons of muscle from the muscle memory we retained during the BFL phase. There are things about each…

  • It would be great if they had a way to ask an expert a question. Maybe a few questions a month included in the subscription. It gives you feedback but it seems to be common knowledge stuff, like "you didn't get enough protein today", or "try swimming tomorrow". I would like to know why, after busting my butt for 4 weeks…
  • I encourage you to consider small adjustments to your daily routine that would increase your calories burned. You said you were working 2-3 times a week. Can you set a goal of exercising 5 days a week for a few weeks? Your additional days don't have to be huge workouts. Just discipline yourself to do something. For…

  • That is interesting, what the goals were that the system set for you. My kids are about to go away to camp for a whole month. I think this is the perfect time to discipline myself to eat cleaner and do longer workouts or possibly two a day. Maybe up the calories and the burn and see what happens. I want to start drinking a…

  • I appreciate all of your feedback! You all said things that I hadn't thought of. I do pretty much eat the same thing everyday and do the elliptical everyday although I do try to vary the intensity and up my resting level to get stronger and this week I added 20 minutes to every workout and switched to the rowing machine…

  • I was curious about my sleep as well. I snore and have an appliance to prevent snoring but wasn't sure how well it worked. When I forget to put it in (last night) my sleep was broken up. At one point it says I was awake for 17 minutes, but I don't remember. If I wear it I will get a solid night sleep (according to the…
  • I have played with mine and it doesn't matter in the calorie burn. I think that the default setting is 6.0 for vigorous and that tells you when you get out of fat burn and into cardio. I set mine goal to get a certain amount of time in the vigorous range so I can get stronger and have greater endurance.

  • [/quote] ""You can earn a max of 60 points per day. daily points = .1 points/MET x METS/minute x total minutes .1 points/MET x 6 METS/min x 50 minutes = 30 points Total minutes needed for 50 points at 6 METS = 50 points/(.1 points/METS x 6 METS/min) = 83.33 minutes You really need to average about 8 METS/min to get 50…
  • I don't know if this has anything to do with the update but I can't upload my data from my iphone to the site, the utility doesn't pop up when I plug the armband into my computer and the activity manager page on the site won't load on my computer. Anybody else having this problem?
  • You will get there. Several years ago I got Jillian Michaels book "Mastering Your Metabloism", she had this problem years ago. It turns out she has PCOS but there is lots of helpful info in there about getting your metabloism going.
  • Thanks for explaining this. This is so disappointing:noway: I am going to have to work on raising my METS during my workout. I am currently just under 6 METS per minute. I guess that means I will have to work out for 50 minutes at over 6 METS in order to get that 50 points per day. Right?
