Thank you all fir sharing your congratulations and stories. In truth you gotta do what you gotta do to get what you wanna get. I still had the fad diet mind set. Now that I'm putting in the work the slider is moving yeah!

Its a great feeling. AT LAST!!! cos it felt like it was never ever going to move. Well done to you too.

HI Im from the Capital of Gods own Country - Leeds. I have just rejoined SW for the 4th and FINAL time. I have about a ton to lose - make that imperial not metric! I read what you said about lifestyle changes and totally agree with that and everything you said ( having done SW 4th time, WW 3 times, Camebridge diet…

Im 5'8 and hubby 5'11 but he is the shortest in his family. His great grandad was 6'8; my dad was 6'1. Unfortunately she has always been loads taller than everyone around. I wish that I had prepared her more. I have always told her how great it is to be tall but here best friends have always been small. Her 2 BFFs are just…

Grrrr, its snide comment like "tall drink of water" that made my 12 yr old sob her heart out hysterically wanting to stop growing, Ditto at 13 plus demanding to go to the doctor to stop her growing. Still going on about it at 14 at 5ft 11. At 15 and still growing she wont admit that she is a 6 footer.

Yeah but think, how long did it take to get to your current weight? How long have you been carrying it? So why should it go instantly? Give yourself a break and be realistic.

Am I being a numpty , but how do you move your slider along to reflect weight loss?

I'm doing my version of low carb/high protein Dukan/Atkins. Week 1 of eating virtually nothing but meat, 9lbs lost. Week 2 of eating as above, but adding a handful of roast peanuts every night while sorting out dinner. Stall, stall, stall. Horrified and despondent I had 3 slices of pizza on Saturday, rice and semolina…

Does it work on chocolate? I have been known to get out of bed to get in my car to go and buy chocolate. I can't be bothered to event go downstairs for booze even in the midst of bed craving - That's what hubby is for.

Stopping drinking was an arbitrary decision post Christmas. Likewise the date when i will allow myself to have a drink again. I usually crave chocolate far more eating it almost daily. I have put some dentist's kid through private school on the damage to my teeth. I am looking at how having a drink will fit my macro, just…

I would agree that it is best not to have it in the house, but i still have a couple of hundred quid of wine and spirits from Christmas. No way is that going any where but down my neck. Believe me anythingi still will find a way to incorporate it in my macros. Eventually.

Serious Quantities of Alcohol!

Sounds familiar to me. You have my sympathy and empathy. Isn't life a b***** when you just loved food and drink.

Thank you thank you thank you. Been busy chatting to you guys, with headphones on. Hubby is now in bed No Alcohol. He didn't offer me anything cos i was obviously busy plus i distracted him with the cost of a proposed school trip. Then back to typing n headphones on. Craving is stillthere but i haven't acted on it and I'm…

Congratulations cdandrea05. Its finding that motivation to sustain you. Very well done. Hope i find mine

I have to find a less severe sustainable regime. At pres i am doing the Dukan diet to kick start me so am eating almost nothing but protein. I am looking at the IIFYM since MFP makes calorie counting possible for me.

There r a couple of cases of wine secreted around my living room that i hadn't even noticed since before xmas, but tolday the y are all calling my name. I could actually fit 2 glasses of wine in my calories for the day. I don't want to because no matter how good i am alcohol stalls my weight loss. Plus the way i feel right…

That sounds so much like me except i will stop drinking for a while then suddenly start again. I enjoy drinking too much to ever give it up permanently.

The benefits of Calorie Restriction was discovered in experiments on lab rats in the 1930s; essentially they lived around 20-30% longer, do not develop cancers, diabetes or heart disease. Experiments on primates showed similar results but the effect on their mental health was marked (showing low mood, depression and in…

Thank you, I had a look at that young man and he puts me to shame. I am still going to lose a couple of stones before I go back to the gym. ~B

I though the point of IF was to restrict our calories not eat them in a smaller window of time. The benefits like most things are NOT short term NOR about dieting, but putting your body in repair mode. It is supposed to get your body repairing cell damage thus slowing down the ageing process and reducing cancer the chances…
