Thanks all. I guess the most accurate thing to do is just drink my wine and forget the cooking.

OMG. So far I don't think that has happened to me. But I do think you are right I have to adjust the length of time I think water weight will go cos I am getting older.
-
Grrrr. I havent noticed that it is off for exercise cos I haven't been doing anything other than walking.

I nope 170 mile drive. I am going to have to keep an eye out for airplane bloat. I always swell up in heat, Im now wondering if there is a bit of 'airplane bloat' going on when I do travel. And yes I only fly to hot destinations.

HI All, I have loved reading through this thread! Fallen off the wagon... I'm hitched to the ground with a bungee cord and each time that waggon comes round I jump on, but the cord pulls me back to the damn ground. I signed back on to MFP after a year and a bit absence and this thread has been so great. But the pics of…

I always have decent results with alternate day fasting. If nothing else it kick starts me for a while. I have recently started dieting (AGAIN!!!) and lost 10lbs in 2 weeks this way. Binged for my birthday (+5lbs), then went on to being sensible calorie counting, dropped 2lbs then stuck for 2 out of the last 3 weeks. The…

Can someone explain the logic of eating only 1500 calories (or less) at the start of your weight loss journey to create an alleged defict? As you lose weight, you have to eat less because you do not need the calories to sustain your bulk. So if like me you have 70lbs to lose i guess I will be down to about 1200 calories…

Welcome. Well done you for sticking to WW getting to goal and staying there for 3.5yrs. ADF or JUDDDing does work and you do need to eat on the up days. Its hard because it is so counter intuitive after a regimen like WW (I did WW in my past). You clearly have the will power to stick to something so think of it this way;…

Welcome. It takes a bit of getting used to but the key to remember is that you only have to diet one day at a time.
-
No you dont have to eat them all but try to stay as close as you can. Dont forget that as you lose weight you need fewer cals to maintain your bulk so every 15ish lbs you should recalculate your tdee and adjust accordingly. Dont get hung up on th 2900 calories either. 2900ud +500dd = 1700 average intake. You will lose…

I have bad knees, and the consultant said stay away from the elliptical because it would further damage my knee. I can only use a stationary bike if the action keeps me in an upright position as you would be on a bicycle; doesn't put me in a prone position or have my legs forward (like the position of a child's tricycle or…

Thanks for reminding me about looking back.
-
Thank you for reminding that looking back can help.
-
That is both depressing and uplifting.
-
True on both counts, but I've never seen star wars.
-
Excellent idea.
-
Thank you for this. I appreciate that you shared your experience of gaining. The more I read of people's comments, the more I think a weekly weight-in warts and all might help.
-
Bless you.

I have a much more relaxed attitude to my weight loss journey. I expect to fluctuate. I expect to gain. What I do battle with is falling off the wagon completely and not getting back on for weeks or months at a time. I guess I am testing the different ways people record in order to see if there is something that might be…

I do that too. I am looking to do something else because this isnt working for me any longer.
-
Thanks, this sounds sensible.
-
Congratulations on your fab loss. I do this, so I have flat lined for the past 2 months.
-
I wish my over eating was only 2 weeks.
-
I need to try this.
-
So true. But on the other hand, not seeing the weight gains on my graph helps me ignore the months and it is months when I do fall off the wagon.
-
This might be the better way for me to do it rather than jumping to record every time my weight is lower than the last recorded number.

Sensible

Thanks for that. So many people don't understand that a daily weigh-in does suit some people.
