I live in a community with a lot of Russian and Ukranian immigrants, who sometimes start talking to me in Russian. It's been interesting! I'm second generation French-Irish.

I've thought about short hair, but my face is so square, I don't know if it would be helping and not hurting. I kind of like my hair longish (choppy layers). Short hair seems like it would take longer because you have to style it a particular way, but a change is sometimes just what's needed.

You guys are pretty brave. I couldn't imagine relying on someone financially. A family member's husband ran out on her after their kids moved away.
