thanks alasin - love your user name btw - slowly improving. i had been wearing running shoes, since i would go running after. plus it was my only pair of gym shoes. but i noticed they were spongy and hard to balance on so i got some cross trainers which have almost no padding. your foot is much more stable for things like…

Couple notes on my gym - it was sooo busy last night up in that free weight room, trying to get the right machines grab a step, find the right weights, navigate all those men who totally look like they know what they're doing. And there's usually like 1-2 really buff women who look badass. Then ^me and my somewhat flabby…

Looks great to ^me not that I know anything - except for the fact that 2b is pretty hard, tonight did not ave it in ^me to do the HIIT - planning on tomorrow., like you outlined. That's a lot of workouts - go for it! :) Edit - I have no idea why I get an up carrot every time I write the word ^me....weird.

Wow great work everybody, sorry I haven't been here - for some reason it's tough to post with my iPad and the hard computer has been in the hands of the kids. DouMc glad you're on board and changed your mind about am raps.... Red, that's great news about pandora gonna check it out! Congrats on stage 3 , glad your sticking…

Did stage 2B! Holy cow holy burn. Those reverse lunges with forward pushes are frickin HARD! I think I did Bulgarian split lunges wrong looks like you have to just put the top of your raised foot down. Did not have it in ^me to do HIIT so took the dog for a walk.HIIT tomorrow. Red stage 2 is the bomb! Not sticking to cals,…

Pmagna that really sucks about your gym bag, especially all those log sheets and sounded like a nice bag, too. Sorry to hear about that! Hopefully you can remember at least where you left off in your lifting? Lotta data to lose! Driving to Syracuse today for an all day meeting. What with all that sitting I'll be glad to…

Sorry you're going through that w your daughter manic - your bond with her growing up but have been super strong for her to push into adulthood with such hurtful force! Hard. I have a 16 yo and the process is already starting, so I can imagine what you're going through. :flowerforyou: Samantha thanks for the details on…

Cowgirl, that article was exactly what I needed. Thanks so much! I can really complicate the **** out of things :))

good question, sorry i missed it before - body fat according to the fat-0-meter thingy at the gym is 31.7%. when younger PK (previous to kids) i always weighed around 130. since i'm currently around 150 i figure 130 is a good number for me to strive for
-
wth just read your post nancyrosey - congrats, that's AWESOME!!! *slinks off into corner mumbling about 20 lb of fat*
-
i'm probably perseverating on this too much. just don't want to waste time. tired of the island of belly fat that's on my stomach! LOL my goal is to lose the extra fat and if not build muscle then at least keep the muscles i have. 20lb of fat still seems like a lot of fat to lose. with the amount of fat that's left…

wow sounds like you've had some great results and are able to eat quite a bit for your size! i've been playing with the cals - but as you can see from my post above, i am really lacking good direction on this because i can't get past the 20 lb of fat. i'm continuing with the program for the time being. i hear you on the…
-
wow great to hear such good results from you. and thanks for replying! so you are 133 at 66" that sounds pretty healthy. i'm afraid to eat more since i am 65" and 150 lb. really feel that i have 20lb of fat to lose and wondering if the heavy lifting is the right thing right now. struggling mentally with this since the…

good deal - and we are close in age too. i have a partner!! awesome :-)

Thanks for the thread suggestion pmagna looks like a lot of good info. When I followed the published calculations I gained 4 lb in stage 1, so I'm down to 1450 cals per day with 109g of protein. I guess going on HRT didn't help in the weight department either, some could be water. I'm kinda interested in application - what…

Food poisoning=the worst. Hope you're feeling better soon. Tough week. Did stage 2b workout last night, Bulgarian split squats are a total burner. Are you supposed to use barbell? I used dumbbells for first time around. Looking at diet and cals again I'm 5'5" around 150, age 49, set cals at 1450 since I saw a weight gain…

PS I started HRT over the last 2 weeks feel totally bloated, and even got a period this week for the first time in like 5 years! Gonna see how it goes though not ready to throw in the towel yet.

Souds like yall are kicking *kitten*.....alasin - i cant believe your numbers....mnsmov, good deal on your inches! Red yore headed for bikini heaven not bikinigeddon lol. Maya, thx for tips on pushups :) what is barbell complex did i miss something? Had a perfectly horrible week, with either kid-oriented or work related…

same thing happened to me last summer. i forget what my FSH was but i'm thinking it was in the 50's? anyway i was scared i'd get my period. i didn't. went on HRT two weeks ago. THAT made me get my period. seems to be tapering off, hoping it was just a one shot deal. my hot flashes, brain fog, and dryness were bad.
-
Glad The article helped, and that you're on the mend. Courageous story!

Started HRT 2 weeks ago - hot flashes and sleeplessness left but breast tenderness and period returned with a vengeance. Prior to menopause I had Mirena so haven't had a period in about 6-7 years. Feel bloated. Mood improved, mind fog improved somewhat. Called the doc they said to keep going and see how body adjusts, or I…

Love love love the vitamix - bought it last fall. Great for soups in the winter smoothies in the summer, and protein shakes all the time. Even stands up to kale! Worth it for those who like to blend their veggies and otherwise make healthy eating easier. Can't say enough about it!
-
^LOL lot to be said for empty sinks. For sure
-
"Indiana with Protein Powder" lol could be a good name for a band. I hear you on 2 counts squishy middle and too many cals today what with that mothers day buffet. Was hoping after today's 2A1 workout that the middle gets less squishy in stage 2. Diet diet diet. You'll get your bikini bod - I can feel it! :)

Hi everybody! Ok there's the good, the bad, and the ugly. The bad: weighed myself on my scale and not the gym scale and I'm actually up a whopping 4 lb! I look thinner though and my clothes fit the same. Went back through the threads here and it seems like stage 1 does that and the book is wrong you have to lower your…

WWelcome - it is rather depressing I agree lol. Better to know than to be in the dark though. Factors under our control are HRT, weight training, animal and soy protein intake. If you have heart disease, sounds like HRT might not be a good option. I just started HRT about a week and a half ago - breast tenderness is back…

Hi Ari! Welcome, nice to see you here :)
-
Thanks cowgirl - appreciate the insights. Lord knows I need help getting my mind straight on this. Stage 2 starts tomorrow and I finally took an inch off my waist (body was getting used to HRT!)
-
In the club - feel free to add ^me. Have about a weekly unraveling.

Thanks cowgirl, exactly. I did strength training for about 3-4 years in my 30s, but when I started having children, stopped. My now ex husband and I used to lift together. Obviously he's out of the picture now for the last 8 years. The gain-lose cycles started after my second child was born. Started the cardio shreds at…
