I workout in the am and get really, really sweaty. My hair will be drenched with sweat so I have to "wash" it every day. However, I only use silicone free conditioner to "wash" my hair. I use silicone free gel to keep the frizzing down and let it air dry. The only time it actually gets shampooed is when I have it cut and…

I love exercising. Running and weights. Squats are stress relief. Seriously though, I really need it. It is the only thing that helps my depression . I've tried therapy and antidepressants (they make me more apathetic than anything else). Exercise works. Also, to eat more. But yes, you can control weight with diet alone if…

You look a lot happier too! Fantastic work.

I go to bed in my workout clothes. I shower at the gym before work so I also make sure to have my bag ready with my work clothes/ shower stuff and cooler of food ready to grab and leave.

I figure I get enough vegetables from my Cheetos Jalapeno snacks and popcorn.

Whatever! I know that natural tobacco is good! J/k

I got a PM from her. She didn't like it that I think that people should try it and make up their own minds if it is for them or not.

There are plenty of people who are capable of pushing themselves just fine in their chosen activities without Crossfit. Crossfitters with your attitude are the reason that so many people are anti-Crossfit. I know a lot of people who enjoy Crossfit and whenever someone asks me about my experience, I usually tell them to…

I tried Crossfit for awhile (6 months), but didn't care for it. Some workouts I really enjoyed and other workouts I hated and couldn't get the point of. It is really too chaotic for me. I like structure. I only tried it for something different and to decide for myself if it was as bad as the naysayers think or as golden as…

I have also heard of them being called stripper squats. But they are great to stretch out the lower back. I do them several times a day at my desk. Also, notice the picture above. There are some people who insist on repeating the myth that your knees aren't supposed to go past your toes. Getting past parallel is important…

I think it looks like it fits you well now. But if you lose another 10-15 pounds, it might be too big. You would be surprised at how much of a difference 10-15 pounds would make at your current size. Anyway, good luck and have fun!

I have heard that size depends on the color and you want to make sure you have enough material.

Become obese for a few years. Ever seen an obese person with tiny calves? Former large folks always have the best calves once they get fit!

Hi there. I used to get knee pain (especially when walking down stairs). I finally went and saw a physical therapist who specializes in active release technique (ART). Turned out that my pain was stemming from some compression in my lower back. Anyway, all that time icing my knee was pretty useless! I was much better after…

Yes, but remember not all bars are created equal. In Olympic lifting, there are 20k (44 pound) bars for the men and 15k (33 pound) bars for the women. The women's bars are thinner for an easier grip. I have also used 10 and 15 pound bars. Most gyms use the 20k bars, but mine has all.

You're right. You don't need to feel sore, but it's not a bad thing. Toes over knees/ not bad (I know you are agreeing with this, I just wanted to bring this up again. Huge myth that your knees shouldn't go past your toes) Keep yourself vertical and the chest up!

Gloves don't give as good of a grip. Chalk is better. Learn the hook grip.

Twice a week I do three rounds of escalating density training (EDT). I would post some links, but I'm on a phone right now. You can easily google it. Basically you take two exercises (they should be opposite muscle groups, but I'm not so perfect with this) and do as many reps/ sets within 15 minutes. For instance, Mondays…

Every time I see such low weight recomendations for women, I always wonder how so many women can pick up a 30 pound child, but not a 10 pound dumbbell. Most grocery sacks weigh more than those little dumbells.

Since when is grunting not cool? Try doing your max effort without grunting! I don't grunt on lower weights, but I can't squat (or lift anything heavy) without grunting.

You know, the more I think about this topic, the more I get a bit pissy. Why didn't the author feel more for 'Jessica?' She kept doing the same thing and wasn't happy with the result? *kitten*! Just a stupid argument.

I just do both. Before I found weights, I only ran. I trained for a marathon. I defiantly was not fat, but then again, I did HITT training along with the long runs. Now I do Oly lifting and running. Three days a week running HITT style (3-4 miles with 1.5 mile warm up and cool down). I lift on my own twice a week and Oly…
