  • Its a personal preference. When I work out in the morning I tend to eat something small, piece of toast or banana, before working out. My workouts are intense so I think I would pass out if I didn't eat something. If I work out in the afternoon sometimes I eat a little something before (fruit or fiber one 90 calorie bar)…
  • Make sure your NET calories are at 1200 or above. If you continually are under 1200 net calories your body will go into starvation mode and start hanging on to fat it feels it needs as fuels. It also depends on how much weight you have to lose and your activity level. I only had about 15-20lbs to lose (down to about 10…
  • Can you bring water from home in a resusable water bottle or a gallon jug? That way you could bring a pack of oatmeal to work and heat it up there. Healthier and saves some cash. =) Also, I always make more than what I need for dinner. I work from home but it allows my boyfriend to take his lunch most days. I have one of…
  • Keep at it! It takes time. I did take a quick look at your diary. Try eating a little cleaner. Instead of the 100 calorie snack pack try some veggies with hummus or a piece of fruit. Those types of foods will help you to feel fuller longer. Some of my fav snacks are: carrots and hummus, apple with a tbsp of peanut butter,…
  • I weigh every day in the morning. However, I have chosen a day, Thursday, that I weigh myself to count once a week. =) So, I only log weigh ins on Thursday.
  • I think a trip to your doctor or even a therapist would help. I am 5'6" and 145 and consider myselff to be a healthy weight. I am more concerned with toning than the numbers on the scale (although my goal weight is 135). I think you need to get back to being healthy and agree with the previous poster to not be too…
  • bump! I am actually trying the zig zag method this week but would love to hear some success stories. I will let you know how it turns out for me although I havent been feeling well so haven't worked out a lot this week yet. I am just trying to stay within my calories.
  • I have the Polar FT4 and love it. Easy to use, factors in sex, age, height and weight to give you an accurate count.
  • I use truvia and don't think it has an aftertaste. It is a little pricy but I only use it in my coffee (and occasionally cereal) so it lasts a while.

  • I am calorie cycling this week. Heard a lot of good things about it. This website will tell you the recommended calories to eat each day on a zig-zag diet. If it works it may be something I do once a month to prevent plateaus in the future. http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

  • The database is not always correct but since this is a free site I can't complain. You can mark the information as inaccurate though to warn other members when you find wrong info. You can also confirm accurate information so when I am choosing from multiple items I usually pick the one that has the most confirmations. I…

  • Thanks for the advice! Maybe I will try to eat enough calories back to be above net 1200.
  • I have the Nike Training Club app. I have a HRM and created my own exercise and entered the calories. I burned a little over 400 on the Shredder intermediate and the ab burner. So...45 minutes of working out. Everyone is different though. It is also all about how hard you work. I have days where I can burn 100 or more…
  • This is my go to taco meat recipe. Sometimes I use all turkey. It's low in sodium and tastes great! You can adjust the heat by adding jalepeno or buying a hotter can of rotel. Enjoy! http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/lean_spicy_taco_meat.html
  • I actually went to the doctor and he told me I may have exercise induced asthma. I have never had breathing problems in the past but my mother does have asthma. He gave me an inhaler and I generally use it 20 minutes before I am going to be doing intense cardio (i.e.: running, kickboxing, etc.). I notice I need it more…
  • I know you said exercise makes it worse but have you tried just walking for 30 minutes a day? I have some of the same issues and found that even taking my dog for a walk 30 minutes on a regular basis makes me feel somewhat better. I also tend to take midol or pamprin every 6 hours on the bad days and that helps me feel…
  • Also, they have quite a few locations so I think they are required to have nutrition information somewhere under the law (I could be wrong but I thought they passed something like that). You can always try to call their corporate office. Contact info should be on their website.
  • Hummus and tortilla soup wouldn't be bad for you as an app. Unfortunately not much else will be healthy other than the salads. I usually build my own there and load up on veggies and protein on it. I am usually full. You could always do like one slice of cheese pizza and a salad or something if you wanted pizza. Everything…
  • bump. I am looking at using these too!
  • I would enjoy yourself and drink what you want most of the time. You can always drink vodka, club soda with a splash of fresh juice (its everywhere down there) and that will be healthy. Also, at the buffets they usually have lots of veggies, grilled fish and a salad bar. I find that I eat pretty healthy when I go to the…
  • I work out with a personal trainer and he ALWAYS incorporates cardio in between strength training exercises. So, I will do arm exercises and in between each one I will do 3-5 stairs (walk down and sprint back up 3-5 times). Sometimes I do tire jumps in between or jumping jacks. It definitely gets my heart rate up and I…
  • Your diary isn't public. Like the previous poster, nuts, whole grains, hard boiled eggs, fruit and peanut butter. Those are all healthy extra calories. I try to eat about 5 or 6 times a day and incorporate those things into my snacks. I too struggle with eating enough since I do kickboxing 5-6 times a week burning an…
  • I use the Polar FT4. I also run and do kickboxing. I got mine from overstock.com for about $80 and love it.
