That's like saying using the term "binge drinking" for people who drink in excess (usually on Friday and Saturday nights), is insulting to alcoholics who binge drink on a whole other level. And if you believe that to be true too, well I'm afraid we will just never see eye-to-eye.
-
I completely agree with you, but apparently we are being insensitive.
-
I know you didn't. But it was in response to "The term "binge" is way overused on this site and minimizes the experiences and struggles those who actually struggle with binge eating experience." part of your statement. It is not overused if it is used as a verb to signify indulging in excess.

Saying that I binged on sushi this weekend is relating to food. I do not have a binging disorder.
-
Binge is an actual word with an actual definiton. Not all uses of the word binge refers to binging disorders as you've described.
-
A binge is any behavior indulged to excess. Doesn't matter if it's planned/unplanned or if you are binging on blueberries, fries or alcohol. It doesn't have to be uncontrollable or a specific caloric amount. I went to All You Can Eat Sushi the other day. I binged. I stayed within my calorie limit for the day because I only…

While I don't feel like going point by point explaining why I don't fully agree, I do want to say: Mustard is a delicious condiment that is zero calories and not full of sugar and is delicious (did I say that already?) and I will never give it up. EVER!

I also think the fact that it is 3 x 30 OR 90 minutes shows that he is not training for a marathon or running for hours because he loves it. If that was the case, obviously there wouldn't be a question.
-
Maybe I have some weird heart issue.. but my heart rate does not stay elevated for hours. Not even close. Maybe you are getting confused with the after burn effect of lifting, which is said to last hours after heavy lifting.

I'm this way too. I just bought new running shorts and three different tops as a reward for myself and encouragement to lose the last 15 lbs. All my bottoms are black, so the shirt doesn't matter, but I made sure to buy colours that wouldn't clash with my sports bras. Just because I care about matching doesn't mean I don't…

He probably meant it's an easy concept. Because it is! You need to burn more energy than you eat; easy! Of course, actually doing it requires hard work. I work hard at the gym and but I would agree that with the right mindset I don't feel like it's hard, especially when you get into a routine. It's just becomes life at…

It's probably just the lighting, but in the second picture you can clearly see her underwear. Again, no big deal, you look great! Just thought you should know because a lot of people aren't seeing it.
-
You're right! Unless it's not. Just because YOU were obsessed doesn't mean everybody who does it is or will become obsessed. That's like saying drinking makes everybody alcoholics. You need to be in the right state of mind, if you are insecure and have a history of body image issues and eating disorders.. probably…

Bring someone sober that has your back. I don't normally have more than one drink when my boyfriend and I go out with his friends. On the way home, he always wants to stop for McDonalds. We usually stop because, who am I to deny him a treat? However, while he would like to order 4 cheeseburgers, my sober self warns him…

That's great for you. Some body types don't change. Also, some people who were not overweight in high school start strength training later in life, which completely transforms the body. You can wear a smaller size but you probably don't look the same. I personally have hips now and no amount of fat loss with make those go…

Was that more than two years ago? If so, you're a woman now, you can't get back to the weight or look you were when you weren't one. Unless you were overweight then, but by the sounds of it, you weren't.

People are commenting in two different ways.. Some people seem to consider cheat/treat days when you eat treats but still fit into your daily calories. To me, that's not a cheat/treat day. That's just a day but I'm not a clean eater so maybe that's why. To me, cheat/treat days are when you go over your daily allowance.…

As long as the two people involved agree on what their normal is, it's okay. If two people have really low sex drives, once a year could be fine for them. The problem lies where one person wants it everyday and the other person wants it every year. If there isn't that disconnect, there isn't a problem.
-
I think people have different definition of cheat days. When someone says "I have cheats days" others assume: 1. They restrict themselves from sweets (or salty snacks, or whatever floats your boat) then once a week they eat an entire chocolate cake (or three bags of chips) because they crave it. 2. You are a terrible…

Agreed. There is nothing unhealthy about cream cheese. If by "healthier" you mean "has less calories per portion".. just eat the light version, or other alternatives suggested here. ETA: Also notice that "light cream cheese" is actually labelled as a "cream cheese product".
-
This is completely inaccurate. Many non-overweight people drink soda.
-
Yup, I know people who avoid them because of cholesterol, but they have existing cholesterol problems. I do not have this issue, and I love them and buy frozen shrimp whenever they are on sale.. because yes, they are a little more expensive as a source of protein.
-
Technically they aren't alloting 0, if you look carefully they are alloting "N/A" for mono and poly and they are alloting 0 to trans. It ends up coming to the same point, essentially it's not that important to keep track of. It's there so we can keep an eye on it if we feel the need to but there is no target. On the app,…

Love eggs! I eat at least one a day. Someone at work said "I have a healthy lunch today, I have an egg white omelet". I wanted to cry. The yolk is only a problem is you HAVE a cholesterol problem. Eating an egg or two a day certainly won't CAUSE a cholesterol problem. ETA: But I agree with the above poster. You can't rely…

I'm surprised it took this long for people to say this. It's not about sugar, or a lot of exercise or whatever. Obviously there has to be a calorie deficit. But the SPEED of loss is about how much weight you have to lose. It's not unhealthy, it's not because of diet pills, it's not because of weird supplements. And you…

Not it if was a monthly fee, or a yearly fee.. or any type of recurring fee. However I probably would pay a nominal one time fee. (Regarding comments about forum posts, if it was a paid subscription-based site, the forums topics and conversations would probably be of greater quality.) ETA: Well I might do a nominal yearly…

I had 35lbs to use and it took about 20lbs lost before people commented.

I will not be joining you. Not only because I don't really care for the whole "clean eating" fad (I heard someone at work the other day say 'anything with white flour in it is terrible for you' :noway: ), but also because.. it's summer. Talk about a hard time to start eating clean. Yes, there are plenty of fresh fruits and…

I stop eating relatively early in the evenings so I need something before the gym/a run in the mornings. I usually have an egg or a homemade protein bar. Sometimes I only eat half because I get nauseous when I eat too early in the morning, but I do need something or I have much less stamina. I'm not trying to rush through…
