I like the saying...if you're not contributing to something, you're contaminating it. Let him know not just how his unproductive his comments are, but what he COULD day to be more supportive. He needs to lift you up, not tear you down.....

Hey there...I've got 38 lbs to go and am on the 1200 calorie plan also. When I'm doing what I'm supposed to, I typically lose 1-2 pounds per week. I'm going for the lifestyle change as opposed to rapid weight loss - small weekly changes to diet and increasing exercise.

There's no a good way to spot reduce, but.... Cardio will slim you down generally. Planks are a great core exercise. My son's martial arts class gets in plank position, then taps their right hand to the left shoulder, the left hand to right should while reciting the ABC's. I tried it....quick and effective exercise!

I use my primary calories (the one that's on your home page), but sometimes do not even come close to consuming the calories burned from exercise. Particularly since when I am getting a great burn from exercise, I crave apples, peppers, and peanut butter instead of chips and salsa! Natural foods are much lower in calories…

Agree.....I don't think anyone can say that they've gotten fat from too many apples, oranges, etc. There's a quote from the Jillian Michaels book Master Your Metabolism..something to the effect that if it doesn't come out of the ground or have a mother, don't eat it!

Sounds like school (particularly class time) is her social outlet. So...maybe finding ways for her to make friends - theater, choir, sports, cheerleading, etc would be a good place to start. I'm guessing if she's generally a good kid, the slipping grades and acting out in class may be her was of getting attention of kids…
