Sweets make you crave more sweets. There's quite a few articles if you google it that talk about how sugar makes you crave more, and a lot of it has to do with the slight sugar high you get and your brain's reaction to sweets. http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/13-ways-to-fight-sugar-cravings So basically, because you've…

Here's a link to a really interesting article I read: http://theweek.com/article/index/99512/the-last-word-he-said-he-was-leaving-she-ignored-him I think a good takeaway from the article that applies to your situation is that whatever's going on with him is "his" problem. He's probably internalizing a lot of things he…

You can check out mine. I'm at 1440, but there's a lot of days I'm just at 1200. Even though I'd say 50-60% of the time I eat 1200 or less calories a day, overall I've chosen not to ever set my goal that low. 1400 works better for me because I get the added flexibility and don't push myself to eat the 1400 if I don't want…

I'm 5'7" and when I used to weight 145, I was a size 10. That's my current goal weight and last time I was at that weight I was very in-shape. I probably only could have gone down another 5 pounds on my frame. I think the smallest size I'll ever wear is a size 10 in jeans and a size 12 in dresses. That's just the way I'm…

I don't think it should be required - but I wouldn't complain if it was. I personally love it when restaurants put the calories on the menu board. Some people might think seeing how high-calorie certain dishes are might turn people off, but I'm far more likely to order something spur of the moment when I'm out when I don't…

My roommate has this turn slicer and I slice them into these noodle-like things and eat them with salads. There's a local raw restaurant that slices beets into even thinner noodles and uses them as a base with carrot noodles for a pad-thai salad. It is to die for.

Great job! Also, I love the shirt you have on in your after picture! I have one with Chell on it from Portal. I bought it in a women's XL and it looked awful on me when it shrunk in the wash. I can't wait until I can wear it again. :)

Generally it's not considered a plateau until it lasts multiple weeks. We all lose super fast and consistently in the beginning with the water weight coming off along with the body reacting to it's new regimen. On the scale I lost consistently a small fraction of a pound each day for the first month or two. Then I began to…

You look amazing! Your outfit in the after picture is exactly the sort of thing I want to be rocking by the end of the summer. :)

This is what I heard on an HBO documentary, too! I'm glad to see someone else post this because in all the posts I've read on here about the importance of building muscle to prevent loose skin, it's never been explained that way.

I got really frustrated when I started eating better, because I had people tell me "Oh, you HAVE to have cheat days." It was pushed as though they were something I needed to schedule in once a week to be successful. I decided that there would be no "cheat days." I would stick to the my calorie limit each and every day and…

I'm 5' 7" and 175 and I'm a size 12 in jeans at American Eagle and a size 13 at most other places. It depends on the brand. In dresses I'm probably still a size 14 because of my bust. When I was in high school and weighed 145-150 (same height) I was a size 10 at AE. Go figure.

In my progress photos, my back is the easiest to see change in. Seeing as you're just starting, there's a good chance you'll see a huge reduction in back fat in the first month or so. I did! I look phenomenally different from behind and I was shocked.

WOW. Your results are amazing! We almost identical starting measurements so this is really inspiring.
