Even the exercise guru's say that you should give your body a rest day once a week - plan it. If you need to sleep in or finish something for school then just move your day off and now you haven't failed, you have prioritized! This trek we are on is a marathon, not a sprint and you are not going to make it all in one day…

Bumping this so I can look at it when I am ready to go

All points in this are valid - her feelings and yours. I get the excitement about also being able to save - and that is only by going to the classes. Here are a couple of thoughts: The best way to take care of her is to take care of you. Limit your time at the gym to what you need to do there - everything else, do at home.…

Ummm, YUM!!!! Can't wait to try

I do too! When I used to go I would load up a plate then go back for seconds. Now I get a taste of the things I want and make sure I still see plenty of plate. I then go back if I want more - I also ALWAYS start with Sushi and/or salad. Sushi is about 35 calories a piece and it is filling so 3- 6 pieces is a nice way yo…

Not an insignificant victory! Congratulations!!!

Make sure you are supporting your joints - especially if they have previous injuries. Also, and this is a MUST - no one here knows you better than you and your doctor. Make an appt. it is worth preplanning rather than reacting to an injury. Tell him/her that you are now going to the gym and want to start a healthy weight…

Sweat for one thing - another is bed hair. Do you want to shower and do your hair before going to the gym, and then again after???? Not me - bad hair day is baseball cap day!

I answer that I have lost enough that I am happy they noticed, but I still have a way to go. Most people get that I don't want to give a number and drop it. If they ask again I smile and say that I don't drop numbers - I would never tell anyone how much money I make either.

Certainly don't agree with adini749 - REALLY?? If you are having issue with having those things in the house then I have 2 suggestions - one would be to ask SO to get his junk away from the house (at work, when out with friends, etc) or 2, empty a cupboard and get a lock for it - Put all SO's bad stuff and son's stuff in…

This is a journey we are on. They are on a roller coaster. Your trip will take longer, and be more work, but in the end your life will be better and stay where you want it. Take it from me - been there, done that. Now taking control of my life and my eating - not with some magic pill which is all an illusion but with…

If you are not eating it everyday it won't hurt you, and if you use the low sodium it is even better. I asked my nutritionist who said that canned tuna 3-4 times a week won't hurt you, She also suggested not storing it if you do save some in the can - put in plastic or glass. Just an fyi, if you like avocado, try mixing it…

I just recently helped a friend with this and am including the message I sent her. It is below: ... I just wanted to make sure you were totally hearing this part. You are not eating enough. Would you try to drive your car a thousand miles on a quarter tank of gas? Of course not. Your mind gets the message from your body…

Good for you! It takes perseverance to take this journey and it is definitely not for the weak of heart. Bets of luck to you

Just an FYI - the female body is not necessarily made to do pushups. Although many women can - there are far more that cannot. A better exercise by far is a plank. Many will not agree, and this will probably start an argument with all those negative nellies on here, but I have been told by more than one physical therapist…

My son called the movie previews pre-sees, we still call them that to this day! We were eating fish sticks one night at dinner and my son insisted on chapit. I did not know what chapit was - he said the babysitter lets hi have chapit. As he was getting increasingly annoyed I called my mom (babysitter not available) - she…

Try quiche - there are numerous recipes depending on your tastes. I love sausage and onion quiche or bacon and cheddar quiche. Also, egg muffins are good - again any flavors that you like. Or fritata's are good - basically a wide open omelet. My other suggestion is to start with an egg substitute. Sometimes the texture and…

Have fun with the site - check every tab and click on things to see what they are. Make this a lifestyle change, not a diet and things will flow much better. I also will be the first to tell you that if you start making changes and are healthier and happier whomever else you are trying to motivate will see it and will want…

It is so totally sad the state that the world is in today - Please don't look outside your life to find ANYTHING from strangers. Hopefully, here and in your life you surround yourself with positive, happy and HEALTHY people. People who make comments about others size, color, gender, sexuality, etc are small minded and need…

I was 100% in the same situation as you. 5 years into our relationship I was told "I am not attracted to you anymore - your weight is a big turn-off to me" - I mean WOW. WTF. What happened to loving who I was, not what I looked like??? I tried to lose the weight and what happened was that I resented every calorie I was not…

I for one applaud you for changing your eating and exercising plan - and while it is correct that in the long run the pills will not give you your long term results, they are helping you now - Would you tell someone who just had leg surgery not to use crutches - of course not. Cut yourself a break for now and when you are…

Are you doing WW online, or going to meetings? If it is online, MFP does exactly the same thing, and like many others have said, it is free - however, there is some real accountability to going to a ww meeting where real people weigh you in and see you in person week after week. MFP is great, but the only accountability -…

First, you need to make a commitment to you. Tell him thanks for thinking of you, but no thank you. Eventually he will get tired of seeing you throw out the money he is spending (or just give it back to him so he can have it for lunch tomorrow - throwing away food is hard). Second I highly recommend finding some reading…

Your first step has been asking the questions. The second is looking carefully at the answers that are positive and motivating and try the pieces you can use for your life. I am extremely impressed by the responses you have received - well thought out and all trying to help. You have the opportunity to try different things…

From personal experience - Atkins works really well the first time you do it. If you are strick about it you can lose easily and quickly and you throw lots of ketones - must be careful if you have any kidney issues at all. If you stry you will gain weight back and because it is very restrictive it is hard to go again. My…

Wow. I guess that is what you get from opening up. Bla bla bla? I am pouring out my soul on the internet. I would see a therapist if i could afford it but at the moment I can't afford it- and this is not an excuse it is the truth. Please don't listen to this person. This is a site for honesty and support - if people want…

Every GOOD trainer tells you that when your body is ill you need to take care of it. You NEED to slow down and allow your body to heal (even if it is from a cold). Don't use it as an excuse - but if you are truly sick, take care of that first. If you MUST do something, then a slow walk on the treadmill. When your body is…
