  • I wish I quit drinking and started moving a year ago. I wish I stopped with the excuses. Waking up at 4am, taking a 2 mile walk, and then spending 30-45minutes in the morning before work has helped increase my energy levels throughout the day. I sleep better, I feel better, and by actively trying to get fit, makes me more…
  • My issue with planking is my shoulders. Being 244lbs, it puts a lot of strain on me (tweaked my left shoulder a few years back in the Army.) So, I started working my shoulders a bit more to strengthen them up, and can now hold a 2 minute plank. Doing a single muscle exercise is pretty ineffective. Instead of focusing on…
  • Certain foods with high sodium content can also cause water retension. Drink more water than normal, a bit more cardio to sweat it out, and you should be fine. 2 cups of water, 16oz, equals 1lbs. It can add up quickly.
  • I also use the Polar FT7. I like the audible alert if I go beyond my heart rate range. It also has a feature that shows you if you are in the fitness zone, or fat burn zone. Only cost me around $100. The FT7 is also compatible with the H7 Sensor, which has a bluetooth feature. So not only can you see/track the information…
  • Going over to my gf's mom's place, we are doing homemade sushi :) I don't care for fish, so I will make some california rolls sans krab!
  • I don't mind so much when people don't wipe down the machines, since I wipe them before and after I use them...I guess I am just used to it from highschool! LoL What really annoyed me at Planet Fitness, was people in the Express Fitness area NOT following the lights...they would just sit at the machines to do 3-4 sets.…
  • It all starts with a desire :) Good luck to you!
  • Sucks to say, but I had to cut out alot of my "friends". Can't really go to major parties with junk food and booze w/o being tempted by having drinks shoved in my face. I used to down an entire bottle (750ml) of Jagermeister in the first hour of showing up. I stopped drinking, people kept bugging me and pressuring me. So I…
  • Congrats! You do look really awesome! I'd even say you are at the perfect weight right now! Don't need to get TOO skinny!
  • nice challenge. My calves are feeling them! LoL I broke them into 4 groups of 50, alternating feet positioning to hit the different sides of the calf!
  • I found eating 2 dinner meals, around 500-600 cals each, keeps me full longer. That, and I don't really have much of a sweet tooth, so that helps lol
  • I bought IdealShape shakes. I drink 1 at least 30-60minutes before working out, then another one right after I workout. Seems to help w/ early morning hunger, and w/ the protein, it helps w/ the workout!
  • you can pick up one of those pull-up bars for like $20 these days, which hooks into a a door frame, OR, you can get exercise bands, hook them to your door when closed, and pull down....they demonstrate it in the video of p90x
  • Ended up finding someone who did the same thing, he was amazed at how fast he saw the results...so hey, here's to hoping!
  • I'm 31 years old, 6'2, and 260lbs. I do alot of intense calisthenics...situps, pushups, jumping jacks, squats, lunges...I keep my heart rate at ~75% my max, and go through about 900 calories an hour...maintaining the heart rate is the crucial part. If your HR is only at 100bpm...you won't be burning much.
  • You too! You'll nail that 5kg in no time!
  • astrampe: Of course. W/ me though, I notice the more I engage in actively working out, the more focused I am on what I eat. Definitely not a health-nut, but smaller portions of meat, larger portions of veg...and since I am an (unemployed) cook, I know I can make some pretty yummy semi-healthy food lol
  • Word: I do stretches at least 3-4 times a day....don't track it, but I do do them! Currently having to modify alot of the exercises, but I can still feel it in my muscles and it is elevating my heart rate...so cannot complain!
  • First, congratulations on the marriage!! That is awesome you married your HS sweetheart. And they say romance is dead :P Second...when it comes to motivation...it is hard to tell someone else why they need to lose weight. That really is something you need to find for yourself. Why not compile a list, Pro/Con, to weight…
  • I've found that when I did a search for "push ups", i saw "Calisthenics", and after looking some stuff up, it seems that the majority of Tapout is calisthenic based exercises....so that is what I use. Even the Cardio, if you think about...alot of squats and lunges, jumping jacks, pushups..... Congrats on the 90 days...how…
