This kind of thing is prevalent everywhere. It's normally something my SO just gives me a bit of ribbing about. like "ooh look there, there's a purple girls squash racquet you're allowed to use! We both know you can't handle my more masculine green racquet" and we joke about it. What does get to me, is when a photo like…

* also gives up arguing in that case *

Fact-based, rational discussion? I put quite a bit of time into my first post (linked to examples etc) and these are the kind of responses I've had: “…people who have a pathological need to get bent out of shape over nothing at all.” “Ah, so anyone who has a different opinion than yours is wrong. Got it. Thanks for…

It's not. Should be able to choose whatever colour you like. Male or female. I said from the start that my issue is with the attitude behind the marketing
-
Your post was overwhelmingly condescending because I said fwiw I like metal things more than pink. Like I said to someone else, don't gaslight me bro.
-
So... choosing metal over pink is me making a statement against the world? I'm not allowed to choose the apparently 'neutral' ones?
-
Don't gaslight me bro.
-
i know its called marketing.
-
looks like the fact that they were his trademark speaks clearly enough. Otherwise nobody would give a damn what colour he wore.
-
it is heavily implied. us women don't like nasty dark metals when we can have pretty pink things (again, social conditioning). if you can't see sexism in that picture, you probably also think feminism is a dirty word. for what its worth, i would go for the metal ones because i don't like pink. but its the attitude behind…

they are breaking their social conditioning and will be frowned upon by society for picking small girly weights. duh.
-
I just can't believe nobody gives a damn about this. It is essentially saying that men's absolute minimum is women's absolute maximum. It's infuriating! The problem isn't the colour, its the mentality behind the entire thing.

Ok a lot of peoples’ comments in this thread are ridiculous, but this one takes the effing cake. No. Pissed off that as a female, I am expected to use oversized pink 10lb kettlebells? Yes in-f*cking-deed I am. OP said that that was the HIGHEST weight they went to. And somehow, nobody has said ANYTHING about the size…

your BMR is how much you burn without lifting a finger. You should eat more like 1600 imo, and eat back your exercise cals. Especially if you're wanting to build muscle.. you need something to feed it!
-
Its hard to say when your diary is closed, but if you're starving then you're doing something wrong. i'm a big paleo advocate. Given the choice between restricting WHAT you eat, or restricting HOW MUCH you eat, I find the former much easier and had much more success with it.
-
I do hate this culture of it being seen as a 'treat' - Any time I refuse a cake or pastry I get comments like 'ahh come on, you're skinny!' (I'm not really) and like I should 'indulge'. I don't really LIKE cake, and I've discovered I'm pretty sensitive to gluten & wheat. It's not worth hurting myself over!

I was the only one there, which was the problem! Now everyone is in I feel less guilty about not eating any of them, becaues it will go unnoticed. * The reason i'm so hesitant to talk about diets is because I'm 2 months away from my wedding and people jump to the conclusion I'm trying to lose weight for that. Which bugs me…

I used to use dry shampoo, now I just use talc powder. Does the same thing but SO much cheaper.
-
I'd say it gets greasy that quickly because you wash it so often.
-
mash a ripe one up with some sugar or salt. something crunchy. apply to skin as an exfoliant or face mask. get called 'guacamole face' by SO. wash off. voila! Awesome, soft skin.
-
whoa how are you eating such tiny portions? eat half an avocado instead of '0.13 of a cup' and a few more rashers of bacon, you'll hit 1600 in no time!
-
i'm sorry, i've become terrible at remembering to check in here. thank you both for your comments! I've just given myself some time away from the gym. I figure a week off can't hurt too much. Felt like I was doing more damage by forcing myself to go and crying through it. The other positive is, taking the time away means…

coconut milk/coconut cream is worth purchasing! Its really useful in loads of dishes, both savoury and sweet. also almond milk has been essential for me. We buy it when its on special - normally about $2.50L, whereas normal milk is $1L. For me its worthwhile because I love coffee and would be cheating too much to continue…

What BabyPhit said, definitely water weight from cutting your carby breads, pastas etc out of your diet. Are you eating back your exercise calories? 1500 doesn't seem like much if you're not. I am firmly in the 'eat more to lose more' camp, after struggling with 1200cal diet food regimes in the past.
-
I hate the gym too. But I actually prefer it to jogging/running outside where ANYONE can see me. At least in a gym, you know everyone is there for the same reason (self-improvement). What worked for me was to buy the New Rules of Lifting For Women book, which someone here recommended. It has a program for you to follow.…

There's so much room for compromise between eating complete junk and strict paleo. I'd let them eat things like pasta and rice, but make snacks more fruit/yoghurt oriented than chips & cookies. With thanksgiving, maybe look into a paleo pumpkin pie? Most of the meal is paleo-friendly already; maybe split your sweet potato…
-
lots of chew toys! And be strict - if you let him have one old crappy sock, he'll think all socks are ok. best of luck re: face licking though, mine is the worst for it. hence the face i'm pulling in that blurry picture

awww, glad your husband found him! I have a cattledog x kelpie. He's insane. This is what photos of us look like:

Whats 1/8 of a pound, like 30grams? My scales don't even measure in increments that small. I wouldn't sweat it.
