You can do it! It took me a long time to really get the hang of it and make good decisions consistently. It will get easier, I promise! For example, I started all this on April 25, 2010. I lost 20 lbs by December 31, 2010. I've lost 7 more lbs since then. It took me a while to get into a rhythm and realize how to make this…

I'm down UNDER 200 for the first time in about a year and a half at 199.2 lbs! That's a 2 lb loss from last week! Only 10 more lbs to go until I hit my 3/1/2011 goal!

Try this one: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&authkey=CKDt1aAO&formkey=dG51bjFDSE1xNEoyRVFoMTc4Vkh0a1E6MQ#gid=0 I just bookmarked it to my webpage so I can just click on it on weigh in day.

Got it in!

Do you drink things faster through a straw? I find that it's easier for me to get my water in ever since I got a washable cup that has a straw. Weird, I know. But I promise I do drink more with a straw! Also, you could set an alarm on your phone or something to remind you every hour or so to drink a glass of water. Might…

BUT if you increase incline, DO NOT hold on to the sides or front of the treadmill! That removes so much of the benefit of an incline! So many people do that at the gym and it drives me nuts. There's no need for a higher incline if you're not going to work for it!
-
Which is harder for you? Apart from getting your heart rate up (which both incline and speed can do), you should challenge yourself. Push yourself to go faster or at a greater incline, depending on what you think would be harder to overcome. Personally, I like walking at 3-3.5 mph at a 10-12 % incline and doing interval…

Speaking of that, I set a new goal for myself. I'm shooting to be a healthy body fat percentage (18-25%) by the time I leave for Philmont. I'm at 29% right now, so I think that's possible to get to the top end of healthy. AND I would LOVE to be in the 160s by then. That puts me right at the 40 lbs mark from the beginning…

I think that's an awesome idea!! Unfortunately, I'm going to be at Philmont Boy Scout camp working as a Medic all summer and I'm not sure how much internet access I'll have, but I'll check in as much as I can. You're not getting rid of me that easily!!

Filling up on veggies will make you too full to eat the things that are much higher in calories. If you tried to each your daily allotment of calories just from fruits and veggies, you'd probably explode! A little goes a long way!

You'll get there!! Just keep trucking!

Awesome!!

This is an extreme example, but take the contestants on the Biggest Loser. They burn maybe 6000 calories a day? They do NOT eat 6000 calories a day. If they did, they wouldn't lose 10 lbs in a week.
-
I disagree with eating 1200 net. What's the point of working out if you eat back all your exercise calories?? I eat at least 1200 calories every day and maybe a few of my exercise calories, but not all of them. Try it both ways and see what works for you.

That is SO fantastic!! Way to stick with it and get so much healthier! I'm 25% of the way and I can't wait to get there!
-
I lost almost 3" total in the past 2 weeks!! A half inch off of everywhere! I'm so excited!!

I wouldn't worry about BMI so much as your body fat percentage. If you have a way to get it taken, maybe that would give you a better idea. For instance. I weigh 201 lbs and I have 29.8% body fat. By my BMI, I'm obese and I won't qualify for overweight until I lose another 30 lbs. But my body fat percentage in in the…

I'm so pumped for this week. I'm hoping for a solid 2+ lbs loss to help me meet my 2/1/11 goal of 199 well ahead of schedule. I've got 6 more weeks before my birthday and I am DEFINITELY going to be wearing size 12 jeans when I turn 25!! March 1, 2011: the day I got back into my size 12, look at how great my butt looks in…

This is awesome. It's so encouraging to see how everyone is doing. I'm looking forward to a lot of losses on Friday!!

That's AWESOME, Krys_T!!! I'm working my way into my size 12 jeans that I was wearing when I got married. I've got 7 weeks until my birthday and I'd love to be rocking them by then! I love getting a smaller size pants. It's so satisfying.
-
You look fantastic!! Congrats on getting to your goal! 80 lbs in a year is AWESOME.
-
You look amazing!!! I hope you get out of your rut!

Did you just start losing weight? If so, it might just be water weight. Your body won't let you lose weight too quickly. If it thinks it's starving, you'll start holding on to every calorie you eat, thus preventing you from losing weight. I would stay with your same pattern and see how it goes over the next week or two.

It seems like this was a hard week for a lot of people. But we all have to remember: We didn't sign up for this challenge thinking it would be easy!!! We can do this. We'll all have good weeks and bad weeks, but no matter where we are at the end of this challenge, I hope every single person sticks with it. No matter if you…
