I'm going to wait until tomorrow to post my official weigh in. It's still TOM, but I'm hoping most of the water weight will be gone by tomorrow for a good loss!

When you're not ready, you're not ready and it sounds like she's just not ready. That doesn't mean that she won't ever be, it just means that she hasn't quite gotten to the point when this is a change she's willing to make. It's hard to change everything about the way you live. Don't be too disappointed in her; it may not…

I'm hoping for a good number tomorrow, as the scale has been up most of the week because of TOM. It was pretty much back to normal today, so hopefully I'll see a drop tomorrow. If not, I might wait until Saturday and see if I can record SOME kind of a loss this week!! I've been so good this week, I would love to show that…

This might not be too helpful, but I taught myself to like a lot of veggies by cutting them up small and eating them on a salad. Mind you, at that point I was eating salads with Ranch. Once I got used to the taste I weened myself into eating them in their nature state. Look for recipes for how to cook veggies. I'm…

I depends on how you think they might take it. If they are receptive to advice, give them some. It's not that complicated. Eat less, move more. The complicated part is learning what you should eat instead of Taco Bell and KFC. It'll be hard until they're ready to commit to making this a lifestyle change. The best thing you…

From now on, maybe you could try to plan a snack in between classes? Snacks throughout the day will help keep your metabolism up and keep your calorie level where it should be.

Just thought I'd say, I love eating healthy. If you're starving, you're probably just not eating enough of the right foods. My lunch (Salad with lots of veggies, honeycrisp apple, 2 clementines and blueberry yogurt) was SO filling I felt like I was stuffing myself. And all for just over 300 calories. That's…

That's awesome!!! Great job. Very inspiring.

I think that's an awesome idea! I've heard of so many people who lost weight and were inspired to help others do the same. Plus, who wants to get tips about losing weight from someone has never struggled with weight? It means more and it's more inspiring to learn from someone who's been there! Plus, it'll be great…

I think everyone does! It's so motivating!! I love seeing the 180s to keep me on track!

This morning I hit the 1/3 point of my goal weight!!! Woo hoo!!

Thanks!

That would only be true if 1200 was your BMR. The number of calories that MFP calculates for people to eat already includes a calorie deficit depending on whether you want to lose 1 or 2 lbs a week. For example, I burn roughly 2100 calories each day doing what I do (NOT including exercise). I want to lose ~2 lbs a week, so…

I finally realized that I can't think about this in terms of losing x amount of weight as soon as possible or bust. This is about reteaching myself the eating habits that I've had all my life. I need to learn what I like, how to cook it, how to modify the foods that I can't live without. And more than anything else, I have…

Hey everyone! I had a little bit of a set back the past 2-3 days. I got bored of eating great and working out, so I let myself slip a little. Didn't track my calories as well, didn't work out Friday, Saturday or Sunday and felt gross. SO I'm back at it. Calories are in check today. I'm going to kickboxing tonight with my…

I lost 1 lb this week for a total of 8.2 lbs in the first month of the challenge. I also lost almost 8 " since the beginning of the challenge! I'm VERY happy with both of the numbers and I'm hoping for more of the same in February!

I'm 197.4, down 1 lb from last week's weigh in of 198.4. I would love for it to be more, but I took my measurements yesterday and I have lost almost 8 inches since the beginning of the challenge!! So, I'm happy! The pounds will come sooner or later! Congrats to everyone!! Whether you lost or gained, you're still trying and…

Got it!

Well, I had an unexpected pepperoni pizza lunch today...my lunch meeting (which usually provides turkey sandwiches) provided PIZZA! UGH. I should have come prepared, but I wasn't, so I had 2 pieces of pepperoni pizza. Boo! But, I have the calories for it and I'm going to work out hard tonight. Next time I'll come prepared!!

I say go for it! It'll be so worth it for you to love your stomach!

They are fine every once in a while as a really easy meal, but they are high in sodium. I wouldn't eat more than a few a week.
-
It depends on what you're getting your sugar from. I just ignore the sugar from fruits, as it is naturally occurring in the food. If you're eating a lot of processed foods with added sugar, I would watch it more carefully.
-
Awesome!! You're doing great! Stick with it!

I set my food journal to eat 30% protein when MFP recommended 20%. I would say, as long as you're getting a good amount of carbs and fat it shouldn't be a bad thing.

We are hardly so elitist as to deserve being compared to an "English Only" store. Really? There are so many groups that others can join. If there aren't already enough, create your own! The goal of this group is to support everyone who's in the group. No need for MFP drama.
-
You aren't getting NEARLY enough protein!! Increase your protein and eat more fiber, whole grains and stuff like that; that should help you feel fuller. As a rule, I shoot for 25-30% of my calories coming from protein. That's up around 100g of protein at least.

Sorry I haven't been around much! I'm trying to get back into it. I went a little crazy with the sodium over the past week, so I've been seeing higher numbers on the scale and letting it get to me. But I'm back in the game. I've got 4 weeks and my size 12s are screaming my name. I REALLY want to wear them on my 25th…

If you don't exercise while losing weight, it's likely that you were actually losing muscle mass! It looks good on the scale, but your body is much healthier maintaining muscle mass and only losing fat!
