  • I seem to naturally cook for 4 people and with it just being me and my fiance at home that means we both get leftovers for lunch the next day to re-heat. As long as you don't mind having the same thing for lunch as you had for dinner last night and access to a microwave, I find it works pretty well. :).
  • I bought the first one after seeing the TV series. They have a good approach to sustainable eating plans rather than a quick fix. I like it but I did make variations on the recipes after a while (who doesn't! ;) ). Like their lasagna, I just couldn't get behind leeks instead of pasta, the texture sort of threw me. So…
  • I'm 5'10", weighed myself when I started popping out of my size 18 (UK) clothes at 230lbs. It's been a year and a half of ups and downs. I'm at 207lbs now. My goal weight when I started this was 174lbs. I had to pick something and that was the number when I would be straddling the border between normal and overweight on…
  • he he "butt winking" Okay now my childishness has been appeased: My first 2 weeks I was squatting and thinking "tra la la I am awesome!" then my sister came over and kicked my squatting *kitten*! I wasn't engaging my core on any of my lifts and in my squat that meant my butt was pushing back and my chest coming forward.…
  • Yay! Well done Spicy! The next couple of days after your first go at heavier lifting will hurt but in a good way. It's a proud ache! You won't get this as bad after every session!
  • p.s. Guess who finally found the smiley button?
  • Hello! Glad I could be of help! :flowerforyou: Your weights class sounds awesome! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it! I wish my gym had something like that. I've had a great (read "painful") weekend! I met up with my sister at the gym and she kicked my *kitten* on my lifting form. I've decided to drop back…
  • Thanks for the link on warm up sets, that clears a lot up. Seeing how my workout weight is barely above the empty bar I've just been doing bodyweight warm ups for now but once I get up to a larger weight I'll need to work this in. I had miss-read the pdf and thought it was just 2 with the empty bar then go for it on your…
  • Hi Spicy! I started stronglifts (and weight training at all) for the first time last week. I know exactly how you feel, it took me two goes to get into my gyms free weights room the first day. It's a very "macho area" and always seems to be quite busy so it can be pretty intimidating. The first time I walked in and some of…
  • Hello Everybody! I'm new to the group and Stronglifts and I just wanted to say hi. I'm on session 3 and sticking to the recommended low weights as I am such a lifting beginner and need to work on my form first. But I'm still super happy with the progress this was my first 5x5 on all 3 moves yesterday! (my upper body…
  • It sounds to me like you're doing really well. Your body weight naturally fluctuates a few pounds over the course of everyday. Sometimes you may find you do everything right and you don't lose a thing or you do everything wrong and still drop a pound. To make sure you're dropping fat rather than muscle I would agree with…
