Completely worth it - just a matter of what one - these two sources will help: http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2013/05/fitbit-flex-review-peer-pressure-sucks/ http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/992573-fitbit-flex-vs-one-review?hl=fitbit#posts-15217833

Awesome review ..... you might find this one interesting as it also compares One with Flex and it looks pretty consistent with your own analysis http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2013/05/fitbit-flex-review-peer-pressure-sucks/ :)

I found it completely worth it ... this recent comparative review of the One and the Flex is a good read to help you work out what you want. http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2013/05/fitbit-flex-review-peer-pressure-sucks/ Remember it is a pedometer and so it does have its limitations in terms of recording some forms of exercise -…

Pkingfox ... its really not that it is 'off' - its more about really being clear what a FB does and does not do - the FB is a pedomater/activity tracker - but it is not a HRM. If you want to be tracking your normal daily activity then it is excellent - if you want to measure actual calories burned during more intense…

This review might help simply as it compares two of the FB devices with each other.. http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2013/05/fitbit-flex-review-peer-pressure-sucks/ this one compares the Fb with some other products on the market ...…

I just bought one - really depends on what features and functions you want and will grow into in the near future ... I bought a Polar FT7 and its meeting my needs - but they are my needs, not yours or anyone else's .. worth doing some research and thinking through what YOU need....
-
Hi there - I don't have the flex but I do have an ultra and I trust it for walking - I use a HRM for anything over a wander with the wonderdog :) Personally I would go with the lower burn for recording activity ... Also you might be interested in this comparison between the FB one and flex - it is really interesting simply…

Beautiful - thanks for sharing! :D

I agree that whatever you record this as on MFP exercise options is likely to be somewhat over estimated ... so yeah your preset activity level would be a better baseline. You might want to think about investing in a fitbit which will measure your steps (walking activity). You can also synch it with MFP and it will give…

Yep - thanks :)

There are lots of reviews emerging now about them so it is worth doing some research and reading those - I found this one yesterday which I found interesting as it compares between the One and the Flex. http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2013/05/fitbit-flex-review-peer-pressure-sucks/

There is an explanation for this from jenkins in the thread I posted ... basically mfp will base its calculations on what it expects you to expend each day, whileFB will base its calc on what you actually expend Enabling negative adjustments will allow this adjustment to be recorded on MFP when for example you are having a…

Ya, I do - I use FB for my steps but I log food and all other exercise (outside of walking) here on MFP. There are a few things you need to do in the setup so that it is more accurate... 1. Have the two accounts linked. 2. On MFP have your activity set as sedentary. 3. On MFP Click the enable negative adjustments tab…

My experience is that the FB is really accurate once you get a good understanding of what it can and can't do - and how to use it ... this is reflected in the article above and previously posted. Worth a read!!

As the famous saying goes ... always be yourself, unless you can be batman... then be batman!! You look fabulous - great work! :)

Re the stairs..... fitbit 'measures stairs' by measuring changes in barometric pressure - it uses 10' of elevation as 1 floor! Which is why some people say they climb certain steps of stairs but they don't count - its because they may be less elevation than this. It also explains why going up and down a low set of steps…

Yep... all of the above and .... GOOD SHOES!!!!

I realised today that when I started all this I could hardly do 5 mins @ 1 resistance on the elliptical - today I did 35min at 6-9 resistance plus cross-ramp and only stopped because I was running late for work! Donna@4 months in...

I tend to think if you are sick, eating for recovery and wellness is the most important thing... think about nutritional value, listen to your body, be careful but certainly don't deny your body what it needs to recover. As for exercise, simply taking a walk (if you are up to it) will increase your activity for each day.…

Hiya... I recently bought a Soehnle Style scale at Myer - it cost me less than $30 - I like it as I travel heaps and its light enough to carry and you can remove the glass platform. Fitbit is a complete no brainer... changed my life, keeps me honest and focussed. Hope this helps :) Donna

Aussie here... Sydney born, lived in Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney and a variety of places over the world - Thailand, Indonesia, USA... Now living beachside just south of Adelaide with about 50% of my time overseas for work... please feel free to add me to your crew! :) Donna

That's a pretty significant loss in the time... what are doing? And yes! You look fabulous - great stuff!

I had a similar issue - I am generally a healthy eater - rarely eat processed foods, junk food or sweets - my vice is a couple of glasses of wine an evening. I am also active. The turn came for me when I started doing more things... 1. I started eating MORE... I had to force myself to learn to eat breakfast but a good…

HIya... I had some issues with the synching etc a few weeks ago and did alot of research .. this is what I came up and it is working really well for me now.... 1. On MFP have your activity level set to sedentary if you intend to manually add you activity (this is important as the other levels have already taken your…
