Hi guys, I travel for work and spend about 50-60% of my time in the field, mostly in Asia, sometimes in great hotels in big cities and other times in extremely remote areas staying in villages. I work very long hours in the field and sometimes also travel extremely long distances by car for days/weeks on end. Sometimes the…

I agree that FB probably is more accurate for the non-step exercise. BUT! If you are using a HRM for the non step activities - you have a real account of the burn and so can enter into MFP then - in the end, your burns are relative to so many factors and can change for any single activity from day to day, so be careful on…

What drunknfreak said above is right ... What works for me is the following. Synch FB to MFP. Have MFP set to sedentary and enable negative adjustments. You will see a credit for your activity recorded on fit bit on your exercise log. If you do other activities that FB does not accurately record such as weight training,…

The key point is to recognise that Fitbit and HRM are two completely different things. The Fitbit is a pedometer, it tracks your daily steps and some level of intensity, but it does not accurately track your heart rate and does not track all forms of motion effectively - as such it will not give you an accurate burn rate…

Hello lovelies, So spend most of the week in Canberra at meetings and then my bestie swung down from Sydney and we spent 2 days having our own Hedonist Festival - tonnes of good food and way too much wine! Expected a gain so I guess I should not be disappointed with not particularly moving anywhere this week. Name: Donna…

Hi Donna - I posted on your page - I use the Fitbit One and I like that it is hidden. Also don't worry about the issue with the HRM as if you log HRM recorded burns manually, it will just overwrite the Fitbit read - I find it excellent and really accurate and I use it because alot of my friends do too and so have a…

Everyone needs to read this - OP - get out there - you are a hero!!

Awesome, awesome work Paul!

So for me, I just plain aren't logging this week ... 3 weeks away in Sri Lanka where I have been eating about about 4-5k deficit calories every week, plus working my guts out in the gym (albeit cardio), recording weekly losses according to the tape measure and I weigh in at 500g more than I did when I left! I was expecting…

For me .... Awesome - been working my guts out and now back home from Lanka in the last few days, so seriously looking forward to the weigh in tomorrow, now I have my trusty scale back ... but irrespective of what that says, I am feeling MIGHTY!! Did 35k steps dancing my heart out at Soundwave yesterday - 50 is the new 20…

Colleen, the fitbit products are great but its important to get clear about what they can and can't do. They are pedometers not heart rate monitors so they will give you a pretty accurate read for any walking or running type activity but they will not give you an accurate calorie burn for other types of activities - e.g.…

Hi Groovers, and great work folks!! Still in Lanka staying at fancy hotel in the city and so had a bit more control this week, and at least able to get to the gym everyday or out for long walks. I tend to go hard on the cardio when I am away and in hotels, basically to keep up my steps, maintain fitness while travelling,…
