  • I'm 5'2" but medium frame so the recommendations for my height on a low range make me look sickly. trying to fina weight that is healthy and easy to maintain. and uh yeah...sometimes I'm surprised when I get on a scale and it only has a 5lb gain because my clothes act like I gained much more. I'd love to have some other…
  • I found that too...its kind of redundant but to get the calories you have to find strength training under cardio. Then if you want to log your specific exercises to just keep track of them you can log them in the other heading but it doesn't seem to calculate an calories unless you find it under cardio.
  • A sudden increase in fiber can definitely cause bloating. If you were low carb for a while your fiber decreased as well. Now you've added carbs back in and increased your fiber suddenly instead of gradually (unless I'm reading wrong) and your body has to process all that. Also...food intolerances are linked in some ways.…
  • When I put the plate to my chest I lift up way too far and my head is usually bobbing front to back. when I put the plate behind my neck and hold it stops me from lifting past parallel and forces me to keep a straight line from top of my head down my back. I've seen it done both ways, back of the neck is my preference for…
  • I started doing these back extensions 3 weeks ago. week 1 body weight. week 2 5lb plate on the back of the neck. week 3 10 lb plate on the back of the neck. didn't feel it til the 10 lb plate...I'm pretty sore. but it hurts so good lol! next week 15 lbs baby. my back is gonna be soooo pretty!
  • From 1998-2007 I ate fish, eggs, dairy. Ate those plus poultry while I was pregnant and nursing my last 2 children because I had very rough pregnancies, low weight gain etc. After that 2011 I went vegan to get my blood pressure under control without medicine and succeeded. Recently found it very hard to stay vegan since my…
  • I do fitness blender workouts on youtube. I go to the gym 3/week but do my cardio at home 2x/week
  • The internet has everything you need. you can find proper form for any exercise you want to do. Doing a little research will make you feel like a pro when you walk in there.
  • I like them. They're definitely stinky. They are love or hate. I use them when I've had enough calories for the day but just want to eat....they are basically calorie free. I like the texture of kelp noodles better tho, they're like cellophane noodles when you let them soak in whatever sauce you are putting them in.
  • My profile pic is my before/after I'm 5'2" HW 180 (September 2010) GW: 130 (April/May 2011) CW: 125 Goal: 3-5% body fat reduction (hovering right around 18-20% tho I get a very different measurement using calipers as opposed to calculators) My weight loss was sensible. 3-4 days cardio/week. I wasn't calorie counting or…
  • Mmm I have a can of pumpkin I've been trying to figure out how to use. I think I'll alternate this with my chocolate. Thanks!
  • I have chocolate chia seed protein "pudding" for breakfast every morning. I eat it in the morning because it keeps me full a really long time and if I ate it any later I wouldn't make my calorie counts for the day. Plus it proactively solves my chocolate cravings. 2 TB Chia seed 1 TB carob powder (or cocoa) 2 TB (1…
  • Broccoli and other fibrous veggies (Zuchinni, Summer squash, mushrooms, onions, romaine lettuce, etc) are your best friend. You can eat quite a bit of them and some protein for dinner to add up to 300 calories. most of my meals are right around 300 calories, dinner being my lightest meal usually and lunch and dinner…
  • thought I was the only one. stop talking to me in between my sets. I look like I'm doing nothing but I'm psyching myself up for the next set. Shutty please!
  • I think I am. I go to a very small gym that on the bottom floor of a golf club house. NOBODY uses it....so I get a little peeved when I get there and someone IS there. This is MY gym! and I really don't want to make small talk while I'm working out. I probably seem like a rude lil somebody, but I don't care. I only have…
  • I find a way to make a healthy version of what I crave. I have carob powder in my breakfast every day. I crave chocolate but it raises my blood pressure so carob is a close sub. it takes care of my chocolate craving before it even happens. haven't had a real craving in a while. on a rare occasion I crave something…
  • I've had mirena for a year...no problem with weight loss or maintenance. in fact, I think it may have helped simply because I feel good most days instead of feeling bad most days so I can get my workout in or eat healthy or whatever.
  • shirataki (yes they are fishy smelling) or kelp noodles. while I love real pasta I look 6 months pregnant and don't really feel so good any time I eat some, even when portion controlled.
  • http://www.builtlean.com/2011/08/04/can-you-lose-fat-and-build-muscle-at-the-same-time/ Possible? Yes. Prudent? Not according to that ^ guy. I'm no expert but there are obviously conflicting theories out there....just like anything else you have to find what works best for you
  • Ah the HCG thing...never heard it referred to as pregnant lady pee lol...and I gained weight when I was pregnant so this seems a bit counterintuitive. Ah well...the things people will try. I get being desperate to lose weight...but truly the only thing that works FOREVER is working out and eating correctly (clean, enough…
  • wait...did somebody say inject yourself with pregnant lady pee?????
  • Not at all disputing the possibility. I'm ok with being wrong. However, again, someone with a major amount of body fat to lose would benefit more from caloric deficit, no?
  • actually I have read about it. between deficit and surplus...as in maintenance? Most of the research I've read leans toward calorie deficit especially for someone with a large amount of body fat to lose still.
  • that made me weak lol
  • It is my understanding that in general terms losing requires a calorie deficit, gaining requires a calorie surplus. So...generally speaking you can MAINTAIN muscle mass while losing fat if you are eating at a caloric deficit. It certainly seems like your muscles are getting bigger without all that fat covering it tho…
  • Step 1: Walk Step 2: Walk faster Step 3: Walk faster Step 4: Walk even faster Step 5: If you puke or can't breathe maybe you overdid it, maybe you're just really out of shape
  • O.M.Geeeee!!! so tired of that one.
  • "You can gain muscle and lose fat at the same time" Ohhh that hurt me to my heart when I found that out. :(
