Oh and one more... "Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is…

I have found a brown rice pasta that when slightly overcooked is pretty spot on to regular pasta. Luv it. I have also seen Quinoa pasta but haven't tried it yet. You can actually find a lot of choices online (amazon actually) if you don't have a local grocery that carries alternatives.

I am occasionally disabled (MS) and yoga and or water fitness are good bets when even walking is out of the question. But really as an RN too i know that nutrition is key so don't fret over immobility for short periods of time. Best to let yourself heal and eat moderate portion sizes of restorative fresh foods.

I am 5'2 (larger boned) and i did that dunk tank test that measures bone, organs and muscle but accounts for fat. If i ddin't have any fat at all i would weigh 135 lbs. So i am shooting for 140-150lbs.

I did Copaxone for bout 2.5 years...Wt stayed stable so this was not something i noticed. Had 2 remissions in 5 months so i have since switched to Rebif. Havent noticed any issues (other than the welts) with wt gain on this either.

Only diabetic folks or folks that are on the cusp need to worry about carbs... I am trying to lower my A1c (the average amount of sugar in your blood determined by measuring a hemoglobin A1c level...usually gives you an average from the last 120days or so) so i have limited my carbs to less than say 60-80/day.

I have done it as well and like the idea of throwing my body a 'curve' so to speak to shake up the monotony of my routines. Once i realized it wasn't as hard as i expected (did a few 24s) i started to throw in an 18 hour fast perhaps 1-2x a week. Dinner to dinner. I eat a normal meal after... i do not try to binge in the…

I am only going to…

"All sugar is broken down into metabolic building blocks by your body whether it comes from milk, fruit or soda. There is a difference, however, in what the body is able to produce with the different types of sugar after breaking it down. Refined sugars have been shown to produce a rapid and high rise in blood glucose…

As a Neuro patient (MS) i avoid it like the plague. Won't take the chance that it could make my disease worse.

For me it is always about the carbs... regardless of my calorie intake (of which i very rarely go over) i always gain pounds on days after i go over say 100 gms of carbs for a day. Try restricting carbs for a day or 2 .

Diagnosed with MS in 2009. Weight has always been a struggle for me but now i have THE reason to want to get healthy. Nothing motivates more than not being able to walk or see or feel sensations for an unspecified period of time. I refuse to give in to the MS anything i have control over; like what i put in my body! It…
