That is just an amazing amount of vegetables! Do you just make a large fritatta and eat it over multiple meals during the day? It sounds delicious.

Count me in! Are we counting potatoes? Did the original article limit those to only count 1 serving towards the 10? (I baked extra potatoes for lunches this week :))

You are so good about keeping relevant information bumped high! I appreciate your efforts :)

FWIW, my husband was diagnosed with Celiac a couple of years ago after years of delaying going to a doctor. After the official diagnosis and finally being able to eat without being sick he actually gained 30 pounds going gluten free. It took me convincing him to count calories before he was able to lose that 30 pounds.

I used to love doing this when my kids were small. The mall was always open early for walkers and there were more senior walkers than mom's with strollers, but it was a great way to be active. My mall also had kid play areas for my older kids after the walk was done.

I do this if I am keeping my pasta separate, but if I'm combining everything I weight the pot to start with, add everything to the recipe builder in precooked weights, cook and then combine in the pot. I now weigh the pot at the end and subtract out the empty pot. This number is now my number of 1g servings in the recipe…

Cheering you on from just north of Houston, TX

I don't know how those c/p/f add up, but fiber and sugar are just carbs. They aren't a separate total. eta: typo

I think all of you that have been around awhile and post/offer advice are awesome. I don't think anyone that offered advice here was out of line. I've been around the boards for quite awhile and seldom post. I get annoyed way too easily. You guys have so much patience and it astounds me!! Keep up the great advice!!

Same here. A scale is so much quicker than counting out chips, wondering if I really have a 1/2 cup of fruit/veg. Now I just put my bowl/plate on the scale, fill it up and know how much I am eating. Even on days I choose not to log, I still weigh out my portion to know how much I am eating.

My husband does this but to make sure the calories are portioned out more evenly we put the onions/ham/cheese in each individual tin, then mix the eggs up and pour into each one. He makes a dozen at a time (usually about 10 large eggs works) and then puts 3 in a bowl and has 4 breakfasts ready to go!
-
Just a note to be aware, don't be concerned if you up your calories a bit and also increase your exercise and see your weight increase or stay the same. Both of those things could increase your water weight and are completely normal and don't mean fat loss isn't happening. Good luck!!

Ditto!

My husband makes egg "muffins" to snack on daily. He uses a muffin tin and puts a small amount of diced ham (any protein would work) and cheese in each cup and then scrambles 10-12 eggs and pours into each cup...bakes for 20-25 mins. A dozen eggs done! It's a quick and easy way to eat an egg...that is more like the…

It's because they have the a HR garmin and that accounts for their full day of calories, including a "physical (lifting often)" job.
-
Are you saying you get 1100 calories in MFP? Because that doesn't mean that the walking gave you 1100, but that your total calories are being adjusted so that Garmin and MFP match. If you are doing a physical job those calories are counted by garmin even if you aren't getting steps. That is where activity level comes into…

I was going to say this too! Raw potatoes and raw turnips with salt...yummm!
-
It's also good to "soak" cucumbers and onions in! About 1 cup ACV to 2 cups water...Yummm

Audio books are great for walks too!

I like frozen fruit and veg. My husband will prep by putting frozen strawberries in a bowl and adding greek yogurt. He can use a bag of strawberries and a large container of greek yogurt and prep 4 bowls of yogurt at a time and by the time he eats them the strawberries have thawed and flavored the yogurt. I have several…

I was hopeful for the lemon cake but it was meh for me...but I loved birthday cake...so who knows how your tastes will differ, lol! After all this discussion, I did buy the s'mores flavor last night and hope I like it too!

It won't help with weight loss but my daughters RD does recommend combining a protein with her snack so she feels full longer...so instead of just pretzels or Goldfish, we reduce those and will add a piece of string cheese. Helps with satiety.

Some also raise to maintenance at their TOM if cravings or hunger are huge, special family events or holidays. This makes the events less stressful and more like they will be once you reach maintenance. And less stress is always good for hormone levels!
-
Just another thought, how often are you weighing yourself? If weekly you may have caught an up weight and be missing the down ones that weighing daily catches. I like to weigh daily and use a libra (happy scale for iphone) to see my weight trends. With my roller coaster ups and downs, I would hate weighing weekly!
-
This could have hurt your rest time and actually make you retain more water for repairs. I think some built in rest time could help with loss and hunger levels.
-
You are correct, sorry. Read it too quickly. Then I would think to start at the TDEE that was calculated as maintenance and eat that for a week. If you are feeling fine on that and not losing weight (they are estimates and may not be 100% correct) then slowly cut 50/100 a week and judge how you are feeling on that calorie…

Yeah, I think $7 would make me think twice. I only buy it every couple of weeks (1 for me and 1 for my husband) and it already feels expensive. But then, my husband is celiac and I'm kinda used to GF prices already!
-
I guess I should be happy that walmart by me has it for 4.74!
-
Since you have a small amount to lose, it's suggested that you set your goal you 1/2 lb instead. That will give you more calories to work with and might help.

That's funny! I love the birthday cake flavor...it's in my freezer now.
