I have found that my Garmin calories are about 10% too high compared to my average weight loss. I've heard others say theirs are spot on. Just something to keep in mind as you set your goals.

Off topic, but how are you liking the stand up desk? I work from home and know that I sit way too much. I'm looking at this https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01K6P748E/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=DU440NCHDVX7&coliid=I2ZB7QUQ1OPO0Z since I could use while I'm using my bike and just in general.

Mine take the "coin" batteries and I was so worried that the batteries would die quicker since my husbands started weighing his food also this week, that I bought a 10pk on amazon! Better to be prepared :)

Search for cashew cheese recipes. There are some really cool ways to use cashews!

I love using the Libra app. I'm going camping this weekend and I'm not worried about my food or logging at all, but I'm sad that I'm going to miss 2 data points on my trend :)

I weigh my pot before I even start so that I can just weigh the entire recipe at the end and subtract out the pot. A real pain is using the crockpot that is too heavy for my scale, so I have to transfer to a different bowl to weigh :(

I got a new pair of trail shoes this past summer and 4 weeks in ran a race that went through a mud bog...I saw people taking off their socks and shoes to wade through barefoot...no way. I just got a new pair of trail shoes for Christmas and finally have time to drive up to my favorite trail this weekend. We have had a lot…

LOL. I was trying to figure out how you you weren't just stuffed with "2 large sweet potatoes" and all of the veg. Minimalist Baker is my nieces favorite food blogger! I might have to try this bowl out soon.

I use the Garmin Vivoactive and think my numbers are high too. It has my bmr around 1650 while most online calclulators using bf% have it around 1350-1400. I think my active numbers are correct for my movement through the day, but the starting number (which I believe is just an estimate based on my stats) is too high, so I…

This sounds great! I've never tried Polenta...not sure why. This seems very easy, thanks!!

Great advice. I'm going to be gone for 2 weeks visiting family and was wondering what to do. I'm still going to look into visitors passes but it's a small town and I might have no choice but the bw routines.

Someone shared a tip on the boards a couple of weeks ago and I have started doing this. Instead of saying my meal is 1400g and then dividing into portions like 6 or 8, I go by 100 grams so 1400 is 14 servings. I ate 300g, so 3 servings. This isn't as important during the meal if the entire thing is eaten but for me it's…

Coming back to read responses later, but well said. McDonald's doesn't make my kids eat the food and it isn't their responsibility to offer "healthy" food. It's my choice to either feed it to my kids or not!

"They will not starve themselves" I laugh now whenever I hear this! I know in the case of a 4 year old this is probably true but I was always told this and believed it until my little girl really tried this. She ended up hospitalized for a week with test after test and a feeding tube and the end result was the doctor…

From what I understand the zip just doesn't count stairs or sleep. I stopped using the sleep feature after several months but the stairs were important to me. I run a lot of trails and it helped me to know how much up I was doing. Not as accurate as doing a GPS watch (future wish list item) but it gave me a good idea of…

I had the One and LOVED it, until I took it on an open water swim during a practice for my first TRI (oops) I used it for 16 months with no issue. My husband started with the flex and then moved up to the force and he likes them both. He can leave them on through the shower and not worry. The force will also count stairs.…

I like the idea of Chris's method because I always forget what the portion was. I'll make a large meal, weigh it and divide by how many portions I think it is and have my 1 portion. Sometimes I'll weigh out my leftover meal right away, others I'm searching for my piece of paper where I wrote all my weights down as I…

I read every single page yesterday right up until I had 2 pages to go and it locked. It was hilarious. Sorry you missed the entertainment!

I have switched between the 2 before. Not for 1 sick week but just a change in general because of time working out. If you are consistent with your time of 3, 4, 5 workouts then you are fine but if you find you are doing 1 workout this week, 5 next week and then down to 1-2 the next, that's where the MFP method of eating…

You did say that you introduced more HIIT recently. I know you also said that the last time you did that you didn't gain water weight but your body is different today than the last time and it may have stressed more this time than the last time. I think it's a valid observation that your body will react differently based…

I've had my Fitbit One for a year and LOVE it. My husband has the force and he likes it too. I work from home and I find that most days, I would really be below the sedentary level that MFP sets for me unless I get up and move around. The sedentary level shown by MFP and most of the calculators out there work in a lot of…

What a great story. Thank you for sharing!!

This is what I have done. I don't want to do anything in the summer when I swell up with the humidity but even with that it won't stay on my ring finger. My right hand is bigger and it stays on there really well.

That was awesome. Thanks for posting!!
