I had a similar thing happen to me after a marathon of snow shoveling. All I can say is keep ice on it as much as possible. And never tell a lady she can't cause she "will" just to show you!

Welcome! This site along with my Physicians Assistant testing my thyroid, I have actually started losing weight. Can't lose weight if your thyroid is not working. It is strongly suggested that any woman over 35 have a blood test to check your thyroid especially if you have difficulty losing weight and have trully tried.

I am buying 4 boxes and giving them to my neighbors with 4 kids! Mom was so nice to make a bunch of home baked goodies for me at Christmas time. Sweet but I had just started on my weight loss journey. How could she have known?

Go on Facebook and look for a moms group like stroller strides. Alot of people are in the same boat as you and it is a great way to socialize and get exercise at the same time.

I am allergic to lots of things. The last thing that made be break out in a rash was diuretics prescribed along with my blood pressure med. Drove me nuts itching all over. Went away when I stopped taking the diuretics, the rash/itching went away.

Look for steel cut oats in the bulk section of your local health food section or health store. They are much cheaper in bulk.

Oh that is painful. I was running the treadmill and did that for both heals. So now I ski all winter outdoors and it has never come back while skiing but I do feel it when I switch to shoes without good arch support. Buy yourself a pretty tea set and make herbal caffeine free teas before bed. I even have a candle stand to keep it warm while I watch TV or read a book.

Olive garden does not have nutrition info cause you would never go there if you only knew. I do love that place but am really happy we do not have one where I live.

Look for "Strong Women" classes in your area. They are geared towards middle age to older women but I am sure they will accept anyone. Ours in Alaska is $36 for 12 classes. The University of Alaska-Anchorage Cooperative Extension is offering them here.

Walking and classic skiing are what keeps my knees from feeling squishy and rather warm. But on the same note I read online that if your knees hurt hiking down hill then you need to lighten your load/backpack. So I am lightening my load by hopefully losing 40 pounds.

For me with exercising every day, I did not notice losing weight for at least 3 weeks and it is still a slow loss but seems to be a steady loss. I really like the digital scales cause they show if you have lost partial pounds. Must be working, I can out ski my daughter and her friend.

Maybe post a flyer on your bulletin board at school about using myfitnesspal and start a lunch time club and get in shape. Club could plan weekend events based on exercise and healthy eating.
