 Anyone else read the title of this thread as 'Jesus of the Obese'? No?... ok
-
aww....I haven't read the rest of the responses (I can only imagine) and don't mean to laugh at your misery, but this totally cracked me up :blushing: I'm sorry you're having a crappy day :flowerforyou:

I'm afraid I'll have to agree. T2D here, diagnosed in April 2012. The *first* time I'd heard of Dreamfield's Pasta was from other diabetics on sites like TuDiabetes.com, who said that the stuff will still spike your BG. There are a myriad of different YT videos & blogger reviews that all agree, though there are a very few…

There are a whole lot of variables that can make a difference. I can only tell you about my experience. I'm T2D and my macros are set according to 'Optimal Ketogenic Living' plan because I still have 10-15 #'s of fat to lose. Recommendations are based on Phinney & Volek. The premise is to 'feed' your lean body mass the…

I've experienced changes in my cycle as well & I haven't died yet  I've been on a keto diet for 2 yrs, I eat less than 20g of carbs per day. My cycle before last was only 21 days long  This month was 26. I've noticed that the amount of carbs I eat will effect it but it's hard to say how.

 sweetheart...she's wrong. :flowerforyou: But she's your mom & she knows what she knows :ohwell: I got one o' them too :blushing: ETA: come to think of it...I had a fantastic figure too before I had kids, and quit working out, & quit eating well...O, wait....

You can try magnesium malate supplements & getting more salt in your diet as well. That's why bone broth is often recommended. I've read electrolyte imbalances can happen due to your kidneys dumping a ton of water as you become keto-adapted.
-
OP: you might want to look up choline as well.

Most definately.

How long did it take before you stalled? I don't have a lot to lose, about 10-15 pounds left (maybe less). I don't know if it's the weight training, but before I increased the protein, I wasn't able to add weight to my lifts. Now I'm going up every week
-
Agreed. That's a given. However, there's nothing wrong with educating yourself
-
I agree! My goal was to lose a bit more body fat but I was meeting & exceeding my fat goal. That was a mistake because it contradicts my goal -__- Duh. I got all wrapped up in the ol' 'but I HAVE to make minimum calories'...no  not yet anyway

check out 'milk thistle' aka 'silymarin'...good luck :flowerforyou:

Someone recommended to me, 'Optimal Ketogenic Living' (a group on FB). I'm using their program (based on Phinney & Volek) for recommended macros & was able to break through a multiple month long stall. I'm also looking different & I'm adding more weight to my lifts at the gym every week. As I understand it, dietary fat is…

Well, it depends on the nutritional breakdown of each serving and how well that meshes with your goals  I made a delicious cheesecake the other day that was about 325 cal per slice & about 30g of fat each. While I'm still trying to tap into my fat stores, I'm eating a slice every day, but cutting fat elsewhere so…

I sure do  There are some days I just have unreasonable hunger. I feed the beast :blushing: Usually with something that packs at least 20g of protein shuts that sucker up for hours

chicken breast pork tenderloin beef eggs

That depends on the individual. I'm a 45 yr old woman, 126-127#'s I walk 3 x daily (30 min. @ a time) and weight train 3 x a week (progressive loading). I eat less than 20g of carbs per day and I have yet to fail a lift or pass out during a walk  All of my carbs come from veggies with the odd low carb pita every now…

There you go! See Heidi?!...two different people with different issues, eating opposing diets, but we both were able to get what we individually need from the foods we eat. Take what you need & leave the rest :drinker:

OP; I think I understand what you mean :flowerforyou: However, there are TONS of foods out there that are not goitrogenic. I live with increased markers for progressive disease as well, however, I try to focus on what I *can* eat rather than what I can't. I'm T2D and sugar & starchy carbs & me ain't friends. Meh. I've just…

I don't usually use cabbage in recipes, but had bought a large head last week that I needed to use up. I made stuffed cabbage & it was delicious :blushing:
