Log everything. Even on a day where you unhappily binge, log everything. You will be able to remember the days you didn't do great, but you'll also be able to check back to successful days and recreate them. Over time, you will definitely see what is working best for you.

I agree with a couple earlier posts -- protein will fill you up, sugar will make you hungry. I try never to eat sugar for breakfast, because it ruins my whole day.
