My high school tennis coach taught us to strengthen our calf muscles to help prevent shin splints. We would have to do those tip-toe exercises at each practice: just stand up and down on your tip-toes about 25 times. Something about how if the opposite muscle is strong enough, it will support your shins better. I don't…

1. As a child, I had an imaginary friend, Maba, who was a quadriplegic. 2. I went through natural childbirth twice (both were ginormous babies), and I would do it again. I much prefer the feeling of pain to the sensation of numbness. 3. My favorite feature on men are their hands. 4. I love words. I love learning new words…

I feel for you and see how this could throw a wrench in things. Can you bring something to add to the table or start helping them cook a meal in the kitchen? Like a fruit salad or a veggie plate? Then you'll have a healthier option to add to your plate, at least. Good luck.

Revenge and Gossip Girl. Though Revenge isn't so embarrassing. I see parallels with The Counte of Monte Cristo.

I don't read a lot of bad books because I do my research first before deciding what to read. The most mainstream popular book that I just hated was Eat, Pray, Love. I had to make myself finish it. What was all the fuss about?!

I've heard people say that too: ten pounds is a size. But I've never experienced that myself. It seems more like 15-20 before I can go down a size. Since weight isn't the only measurement to take into account, it probably varies a lot.

This was years ago- before I had kids. I was doing really well with diet and exercise and was in great shape. I wanted to change up my exercise routine a bit and thought I'd swim laps for a half hour or so. Well, you don't just wake up one day and swim laps. Swimming is very strenuous. Unfortunately, I had to learn this…

I think it's okay as long as you account for it. I am not a proponent of banning foods completely from your diet. If I'm doing okay on calories, I have one or two Dove Dark Chocolate Promises (less than 100 calories). I feel that allowing myself this treat prevents me from splurging on something more damaging down the line.

Awesome results! I love your little cheerleader in the corner :)

I have no shame about snacking, as long as I plan ahead for the day. I work full-time and pack my lunch bag the night before, figuring in something little for breakfast, my lunch, and two snacks. I make sure I have enough fruits and vegetables and healthy snacks that I look forward to, yet fill me up. If I'm doing well on…

Do you workout with music? I download a new song or two the night before so I have something to look forward to in the morning. I only do morning workouts once or twice a week though.

This is the one that surprised me: 11. The only way you ‘shock’ the body into growth is to continually increase the activity stimuli load NOT by changing exercises around or doing different exercises.

Mystic River: Sean Penn screaming and sobbing "Is that my daughter in there?!"

Same here: I wanted to try it. I am making this recipe tonight. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/mediterranean-quinoa-salad/detail.aspx

A 20-minute walk this morning and Jillian Michaels's 30-Day Shred tonight at home.

I read and enjoyed Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet as well. For something lighter, I agree with young adult fare like The Hunger Games. I also loved Divergent by Veronica Roth, which is the beginning of another YA series. I thought Attachments by Rainbow Rowell was adorable, yet still intellectual. Good luck :)

Wisconsin, and it's below zero here today. I will be visiting Ireland for a week in March :)

I agree, hummingbird. Just commit to it and go. It was 6 degrees here today, and I really dreaded going out for my walk. I bundled up and looked like an idiot, but I got my 20-minute walk in. Yes, it's cold, but it's also healthy and energizing. Good luck!

A Lean Cuisine pepperoni pizza and a banana. Snuck in a workout at lunch time and have to get to a meeting fast.

I understand that most men prefer long, flowing hair. And mine has been like that most of my life. But it's not for everyone. Consider Halle Berry. Would you agree she looks better with longer hair? I think she's a knockout with shorter hair. Women change their hair style to keep up with trends, styles, and to feel good…

I am a marketing manager, sitting at a desk most of the day, for a worldwide athletic retail company. And we have no gym on site.

I'm a Wisconsinite and love Aaron Rodgers. That being said, Tim Tebow seems like a great guy.

I'm 33 with two little ones, married, working full-time, and trying to do it all and do it well. I'd be happy to lose about 20-30.
