Maybe I'm just lucky, but I think the toughness being given to the OP is a little harsh! I share EVERYTHING with my boyfriend of several years, and he shares everything with me (maybe not as thoroughly as someone with who understands the topic, but still). We make time to be interested in what the other has to say because…

Your husband sounds more than just unsupportive, his belittling and berating sounds very emotionally scarring! :( I sincerely hope the marriage counseling helps.

For cardio, there's always swimming!

Amen!

Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragment! It's so nice to hear from someone who's amidst it too!!

Interesting, I'll look into it!

Thank you all for the thoughts. I definitely see that 1200 calories won't do me any good. Now that it's down to the last few pounds, I think I'm just getting very anxious and anticipatory to hit that goal, which is why I wanted to try to drop my calories down. It's hard to wrap my mind around taking them up (that's never…

I guess it's just because eating more = losing less, and that doesn't seem to compute with my brain after living in a 500 or more calorie defecit for a while! But you're right, that really should be the last thing I'm worried about!

Thanks! I don't eat poorly every weekend, though. I was just on vacation this past weekend and decided not to stress too much about meeting my calories. Maybe I used the incorrect term, but MFP lists my daily calorie need to maintain my weight as 1920, with my active level at the lightest for daily activities it can be. I…

Blah, I was afraid someone was going to tell me this! Wouldn't that only lose me maybe 2 pounds a month though?
-
Thanks for the suggestion! I just signed on to burn 3500 calories a week throughout the month of August while working out 60 miles... I'm hoping this will kickstart me again!

Hi all! I'm approaching my last 8 pounds to lose (from there I'm going to decide if I'd like to shoot for another 5-10 so who knows). I'm going to be turning 20 on August 27th, entering my last year of college. I started running back in May and was OBSESSED with it for a while, craving a run, wanting to go out almost every…

If you have an hour to burn, you can EASILY burn 500 calories in that hour! That's only 8 calories a minute. Though if you're looking for the most bang for your buck, then I'd recommend taking up running. It, by far, generates the most burn in the least amount of time.

That's AMAZING that he could be that honest with you! Wow, good for you two!

Besides those veggies listed, I LOVE Radishes! There's nothing quite like a crunch of a radish and they're easy to grab and go! I like to pair them with a cheese stick!

Thanks for the advice, folks! It has been getting quite hot out, and when I run outdoors, I actually don't take water with me! I might have to try that sinus thing as well, I have sinus problems all the time!!

See, but according to the calculator I use, pace is irrelevant! It's mileage that matters, according to Runner's World.

For ground turkey, I LOVE this recipe! I don't even use the soup mix/parm and they're still SO yummy with just salt and pepper, and then I love to top them with salsa and sour cream! I bet they'd be even more yummy if I added those seasonings! http://allrecipes.com/recipe/black-bean-turkey-burgers/

I have a cheat day if I'm going out to eat or ordering take out or something of that nature, where the calories are ridiculous. I try to exercise to point where I'm only going over by 400-500 calories on those bad days, and they only come so often, not weekly or anything like that. So I let them come as they do, because I…

Were you running? Running has a high afterburn, so that very well could've been a still accelerated calorie burn! That being said though, I wouldn't count it, better safe than sorry!

I LOVE cooking and my boyfriend needs to eat low fat because he had gallbladder surgery in February, so I always prepare a proper dinner. Lunch is usually a salad or wrap or something (except for today haha) with fruits or veggies or a granola bar, something I make sure I put a little effort into. As far as where I get…

Yesterday, I ate WAY too many sweets and was going out to eat that evening, and really wanted to have a meal that was at 1500 calories... ouch, what I eat in a day! Now, I follow a calorie calculator that I've found to be quite accurate on Runner's World - http://www.runnersworld.com/tools/calories-burned-calculator. It…

Do you work at a desk? Is it possible for you to wait that hour and see if you are in fact hungry? I found constricting myself to one time of eating makes it hard sometimes and creates that anxiety about eating enough, not eating enough, et cetera, so I try to pace myself at my desk and eat as it comes to me.

More water during, before, after??

Wow! Okay, I didn't realize the methods didn't coexist - I thought everyone knew something I didn't! I'm shocked I lost a chunk of weight without knowing all of this! I don't log the walking whatsoever since it just started a month ago for my summer job, as I figured it'd be a nice surprise supplement to what I've already…

I see!! Okay, what good information! I was struggling to navigate through all of the numbers. So is 20% looking at a pound a week then? Do you recommend this method over MFP or is it kind of to each his own?
