Broth. Jello. Maybe popsicles to help with pain. Ice chips. Good luck. Feel better soon!

Agree with others - your knives are amazing. I just cook for two at home, nothing special. I have really enjoyed the Global knife we have, but DH has ruined it by sharpening. It actually has a jagged edge now, and it's not a bread knife. Wah! The weight of the Global knife is ideal and it fits my small hand nicely. The…

Haha, cute. Enjoy the time with your grandson, that's awesome.

BUMP for awesomeness. Thanks OP for starting this.

Thanks for sharing. A joy to read your story. Keep on, keepin' on!

So, I never wear sleeveless shirts. I don't own any and I eshew them when shopping. Even though it's been warm enough to wear sleeveless, I haven't for two reasons. 1) I've always felt my upper arms to be disproportionately big. And of course, without any definition. 2) There is an area between my armpit and the front of…

+1 Binging Sopranos right now and Oz.

Holy moly. That's a lot of changes. Nicely done in managing LIFE in addition to adding in nutrition & exercise changes. BRAVA! ETA: typo

Using chart for proper identification. Update to follow.

@Not_Alone, you are not alone. *except for the "should be banned" part. Happily I married a guy who is indifferent to the Blue Box. Moar for me. Whole box. One sitting. YUM. ETA: do not ban!

Oh, I am SO IN! I can bring pretzel flips (well, what's left of them after last night) and a full-sized box of cereal per person. Just let me know the final headcount so I know whether to drive the pickup or the hatchback. Putting together swimsuit, towel, and suntan lotion for super-fun-floaty-time. :glasses:

Congratulations on kicking the smoking habit. My FIL smoked even after he had had a stroke. The day he retired was his last day smoking. When he woke up the next day and didn't have to go to work, he never again reached for a cigarette. Not once after retiring. You have done a fine service to your health, sir. :drinker:…

Granted, but now the curtains don't match the carpet. I wish I knew what to fix for dinner tonight.

Me too! LOL

Thank you for this! Great work!

Haven't yet tried chia or hemp, but for the flax: Once you've milled (ground) it, you can add to virtually anything. I put milled flax in my banana bread recipe, cookies, spaghetti sauce while it's simmering, cereal , oatmeal, and really most things that I bake with flour. Even the homemade dog treats got some flax! Enjoy!

+1 to cheese plate. Delish.

Are you already eating them plain? YUM. Do you have a dehydrator? One year we sliced & dehydrated -- made "fig chips", much like banana chips. Other things we made when our fig tress had record output: Chutney Fig bars (like lemon bars) Fig jam Fig butter I think we liked the fig chips best, since they kept so well and we…

Funny. I was just reading a blog where Altra Olympus (neutral drop) were raved about. http://www.fatcyclist.com/2014/05/19/stuff-that-fatty-really-really-loves-the-altra-olympus/

Nicely done, OP. It may take a small while to get your mind used to this new self. You've already done (& will continue to do) the work with the food/exercise. You can apply your incredible personal awareness (what a meaningful write-up you gave) to getting your head wrapped around all these dramatic changes. You know you…

I have sandwich every day for lunch, too. 5 out of 7, just like you. I use spicy mustard instead of mayonnaise. I started skipping the cheese on the sammy and now have a cheese stick. I found a killer deal on bacon, so I've been having BLTs for a couple of weeks. I've seen lots of people recommend avocado instead of mayo,…

Exactly! And fresh salmon, as others have posted. ETA: Quinoa. Yikes. Love it, but pricey.
